Reincarnated Jester: Taming Players-Chapter 83: Deluxe Pill
Chapter 83: Deluxe Pill
"I am totally fine with that," he said, showcasing his new batch of creations.
Without holding himself back, Jung put every ounce of his motivation into his craft, yet the results didn’t speak in his favour.
Even then, he was smiling, with his aching fingers and head at the back of his mind. "Here you go," he said as he offered Nero his new creations.
[Superior Wizard Taming Pills]
-Not-so-great pills created by poor merging skills. At least they are better than average.
The description was unchanged. Its appearance didn’t improve either.
With a green and blue glimmer, the pill was pretty.
However, Jung seemed proud and remained silent, monitoring Nero and her reaction after she ingested it.
Nero didn’t acknowledge the effects right away.
Her reactions were delayed as if trying to make him nervous, not knowing that he was confident in his creation.
"It’s not bad," she said after a while.
Her tail was twitching around, meaning she liked the sensation these new pills gave her.
Glancing at her uncontrolled body part, she shook her head and succumbed to the craving.
"Yeah, it was good. It felt like I was electrified in a good way."
She said trustfully, demanding more.
As for Jung, he looked back at his sensations, trying to grasp them to better improve himself.
He fully understood it wouldn’t happen overnight but accepted it as a part of its charm.
If he didn’t have to earn it and maybe even suffer, it would quickly become boring, and he might even lose motivation.
But the fact that the results were only slightly better, despite how seriously he tried, made him lock in even more.
"There is too much potential here," he said after seeing how the minor improvements on his part were enough to strengthen the pill to a level that even Nero noticed.
So he collected another batch of pills, repeating the process over and over.
His success rate wasn’t high either.
He was constantly failing, losing pills in high numbers.
He was slow from the start, but after hours of grinding, his speed declined even further.
It wasn’t because he suddenly became worse at controlling the persona or because his understanding of the pills was declining.
No, it was the other way around.
The more time Jung spent on merging them, the more proficient he became, but it meant slowing down his productivity as he was seeing and feeling more and more.
Fortunately, he had abundant amounts of pills, and he couldn’t go through them anytime soon.
Not even the entire night turned out to be sufficient for his work.
Nero’s curse-lifting ceremony was delayed, but she could live with that.
Especially when she didn’t have to eat thousands of pills one by one but ten times less with enough breaks in between.
Ten seemed like a good amount to work on, and anything more than that unnecessarily increased the difficulty.
Jung couldn’t remember the time when he was so gripped by something.
His first interactions with the sword came to mind.
’No, it’s not that.’
Then he remembered how he lived as an explorer.
It somewhat resembled his sage and wizard lifestyles in terms of adventure and his seeking nature.
However, he didn’t wander aimlessly just for whimsical purposes, and he didn’t dwell on the truth of the universe.
He had been exploring the world as it was, studying ancient history, geography, geology, and other fields of science.
It had been one of his peaceful years, leaving him with liberating memories.
Yet none of his studies came close to what he felt at this moment.
He was so engrossed with this magical world that he completely missed how the sun rose from the horizon and lit up the world.
Somehow, Nero was quiet this whole time.
Even she showed an interest in his work.
She wasn’t so ignorant as not to know what he was doing, and respecting his space and determination, she didn’t ask him to hurry.
But there was someone else who wasn’t shy about scolding Jung.
[You are wasting both your time and hers,] said Vex mockingly.
[The speed of your progress is so slow that I want to cry and help you.]
Jung barely heard her words. His concentration was untouched, thoroughly ignoring Vex’s every remark.
"I am having fun," he said, rubbing the pills with his hands.
The grade was still superior, and the quality barely improved, though it didn’t matter to him.
Jung didn’t stop.
He constantly fed Nero with taming pills without taking a break.
His hands hurt, and his eyes burned from the energy he used, but strangely enough, tiredness was absent.
He felt like he could go on for days to come.
A couple of hours ago, after he extinguished wizard archetype pills, Jung glanced at Nero’s progress with interest.
It was his first break after twelve hours of practice, but he ached for more.
<Nero The Shadowpaw
<Archetype: Wizard
<Archetype Tier: VI - Half Frozen
<Archetype Progress: Frozen
<Archetype Skills: Voidpaw [Active], Shadowborn [Passive], Duskveil [Active]; Frozen; Frozen; Frozen
<Cursefell Stage: 1/5
<Progress: 98%
"Two more, and we are good to go," Jung said to Nero, reaching into his inventory and taking out hero pills.
"Yep..." Nero meowed.
She then leapt out of bed.
Knowing that he might take more, she walked around the room. There was nothing to do, but at least she was moving.
The constant sitting made her feel suffocated.
But after observing Jung from a distance and seeing how thrilled he looked, her mentality stabilized.
Feeling at ease, Nero bolted to the table, waiting for Jung to offer her another pill.
She didn’t have to wait too long.
Merging ten hero pills proved to be no different, and he did it at the same pace.
By making connections between them and linking them together, Jung finally created a new grade.
[Deluxe Hero Taming Pill]
-Greatly forged pill that shows how dedicated the creator truly was.
He laughed after reading the text and served Nero her new meal.
It was time for her to advance to the next stage and unlock one of her skills.
