It wasn’t just a simple charge up from the formation, there were lots of arms coming out from the shield, grabbing thousands upon thousands from the monsters surrounding the formation. The arms were the same colour like the shield, and they kept growing in size and emitting a scary aura off.

"This..." Becky witnessed lots of formations that could absorb and store the damage before releasing it, yet none was ever close to what was happening here.

This formation wasn’t just simply releasing the stored damage; it targeted the monsters which inflicted the damage during the past period by these arms!

And before any would grasp what was going on, a soft muffled explosive noise erupted, followed by an earth-shattering explosion and an ear deafening rumble!

It felt like the world was coming to an end! The explosion came with a bright flash of light that blinded everyone. Even those using spirit sense felt immense pain before their spirit sense got abruptly halted by the effect of the explosion!

It was a scary experience for everyone watching it, one that not even Becky experienced ever in her life!

The explosion came fast and ended faster. It didn’t last more than a few minutes, yet the world that was left behind was totally bizarre!

The mountains that surrounded the formation area got levelled up by the ground! In fact, when masters spread their spirit sense, they could tell the ground dipped as if a grand groove was formed around the formation area, making a huge trench surrounding them!

"This..." Becky’s body trembled when she realised the scale of this destruction, "it’s covered up a large area... Even way beyond the entire mountains here... This..."

"This is how the offense and defense formation works," William was very satisfied by the expression over her face, over everyone’s face, "now you can stand on your own here, handling monsters in the region. I’ll leave behind special alloys that can release the mist to attract those monsters over and make them lose their sanity..."

He was speaking to Sara, and the latter wasn’t feeling any better than Becky. Even if she accompanied William for so long, she was still stupefied and scared by the terrifying might of this formation.

"Use the calmness like this to heal, recuperate, change the masters operating the formation, scout the area outside..." William threw lots of instructions over Sara’s stupefied face for a few minutes, before turning to Becky and added, "let’s go! Our business here is done!"

"..." Becky couldn’t bring herself to say anything to him for a long time. The scene she just witnessed left a deep shock over her spirit, one that she knew she wouldn’t ever get over no matter what!

"How come a master from the lower realm knows of such knowledge and terrifying might?!!" The first thing she said was just after they passed through the portal, getting back to Lara’s city.

"If you are trying to know my secrets, then you should know better," William calmly said, before turning his spirit sense around, looking for someone, "this way, Lara is there with lots of masters."

"..." Becky decided that she would keep her silence around William as much as she could from now on. It wasn’t just out of respect, she feared him.

She knew she just saw the tip of the iceberg about him. She couldn’t even grasp the full extent of his might. And realising this made her feel she was standing right next to the death doorsteps all this time without realising how dangerous it was!

"You finally came back!" Once he and Becky arrived at Lara’s spot, the latter heaved a deep sigh of relief.

"Is it this bad?" William raised an eyebrow, as it was clear how bad the situation overall was. It wasn’t just Lara, the looks over everyone’s faces told him the same.

"It’s not just about monsters... The dark masters are giving our forces a hard time all over the kingdoms!"

"I thought I warned you already about them..." William was surprised by what he heard, "didn’t you get my warning?"

"We received it, but honestly... Sigh! I think it’s better to explain things over the maps..."

She pointed to the large number of maps stretched over lots of tables in front of her, "see the red dots? These are the monsters known as active places. As for the green dots, they are our forces..."

"What about the black and purple dots? The dark master forces?" William could easily tell the situation overall didn’t look that great from the maps. Yet what he heard next made him realise how grave the situation was!

"The black dots refer to the dark masters, as for the purple dots, they are the surrounding kingdom masters who allied themselves together and infiltrated the four kingdoms!"

"What?!" William never thought of such a possibility, "they allied themselves together?! How?!!"

"That’s what their activities tell," Lara tirelessly sighed, "I don’t know what happened, but we got the news that the kingdoms stopped fighting against each other at some point, rallied their forces, and attacked us!"

"..." William didn’t comment, stood in his place trying to grasp the situation for a few minutes, "did they attack the dark masters? I can see lots of purple and black dots side by side!"

"No, they are working together," she slowly shook her head, "it feels like both came to some sort of agreement. On top of that, we started to receive reports about many dark masters crossing the borders and joining the battle!"

"Unbelievable!" William clenched both fists, "those sons of btches! They rallied together with the dark masters to ruin my guild! Nonsense!"

William’s enraged shout silenced anyone speaking around. All eyes attracted over him, and he stood his place, moving his eyes around the many maps.

He never expected such an outcome! Even if someone proposed such a scenario before the war started, he would say they lost their minds!

There was no way all the kingdoms around to rally with the dark masters and march towards them! He expected the kingdoms to fight among each other, ending up exhausting their military powers, and paving the road for him to swallow everything.
