Chapter 1376: The Plan to Win the War!

"... Like this, cutting the supply lines from the enemy will end any hope for them about killing us, not to mention the trap will fall on itself," he added, before pointing at the three other hot spots, "in fact our real target is to shake these points off the large numbers they had, and then we attack."

"You want to use the trap they set up and lure out as many masters as we can, weaken the other three forces, before hitting them... I like that!" Fang finally got William’s plan, and his words helped many others to grasp it.

"But... This is a standard tactic from the upper realm," Becky finally said what puzzled William from the very beginning of this war.

"I know," he slowly nodded, "first the idea to unite everyone when masters of this world only think about their sole gains and even go to the lengths of uniting all dark masters together with them, isn’t something that a master of this world can do."

William felt something was amiss from the first moment the war erupted. And yet he didn’t get any chance to investigate more about that, and so far, he never heard a report speaking about the real leaders of the war.

But Becky felt the same as him. For someone who came from the upper realm, she could easily tell whenever someone like her was trying to meddle the affairs of this world.

"No clue whom that might be?" Becky looked at William in doubt. This was the first time to see him unclear about something.

"I have a feeling whoever that person is, he or she knows me very well," William moved his eyes around his friends, throwing that mystery to the side for the time being, "but now let’s win this war."

William started to distribute roles over his friends and army leaders. There were thirty-five masters present around William while he kept giving orders.

The meeting didn’t last longer than one hour, the group which had the task of acting as a prey was none other than Anjie’s!

"I’ll do it," she even volunteered, "my kingdom is under our control, and there are five different armies stationed there for defence. I didn’t join before to help lead the frontline forces, but now William is back. So, I can join the war and help to win it!"

"Are you sure?" William didn’t buy any of the bullshit she just said. He knew she wanted to atone for what her father did, and she didn’t take part in the war so far as there wasn’t a suitable battlefield. But now she found one, acting like a decoy!

"I’m the only one who can do it," she paused when other girls gave her a weird look, "I mean... I’m the only one free to handle it!"

"Fine, this role is yours," William didn’t say anything else to her, didn’t even try to stop her again. In return, he sent a brief message using spirit telepathy to Fang.

[I know she is acting a bit suicidal here, but worry not, I will make sure she won’t get hurt badly!]

"..." William didn’t know what to say to this old master, yet he felt Fang was way better than Sloth. The latter wouldn’t have sat idle and might have caused a fight to stop her!

"As for everyone else, you won’t return back to your armies, not yet," William then moved to the next point in his plan, "you’ll form smaller units under you from all the masters here."

"How about getting little help from our main forces?" Sara crossed her arms, while recalling the large number of masters here, "I don’t know who is good and who isn’t. So it’s best for all of us to dispatch part of our forces here..."

"That won’t do," William had to stop her, "as you were eyeing the enemy and scouting their forces, the enemy is also doing the same to you."

His words were clear, if they tried to move part of their forces to help, the enemy would sniff it.

"Fine," Sara puffed her cheeks, while Lina asked, "how about our roles? Will we just lay in wait and ambush the incoming enemies? Or shall we also move to attack and control the passages around the area?"

She pointed at the many, yet narrow, passages surrounding that trap zone. William already thought about handing this task to them, but for a reason he felt it would be too much for a single force, "let’s wait for when you kill the incoming reinforcements, then merge your forces together. By then you’ll have enough numbers to take control of the passages..."

William kept arranging the roles while his friends asked lots of questions. The other masters from the Black Tails, the ones leading other armies, stayed silent and watched without interfering. 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚

They knew how close the ones speaking and asking questions with William. They were his friends for a long time, something not a master here could rival or dream of.

Yet William didn’t let them off the hook, he started asking them questions, taking their opinions, until that wall of ice broke and they began to express their thoughts freely without any pressure.

The meeting ended after five more hours. They didn’t leave at once, as William told them to go and start forming groups from the masters here.

"If the leader of the enemy forces is from the upper realm, then we should expect lots of upper realm masters involvement," Becky stood by William’s side, while watching how everyone was racing and competing to pick the stronger masters first.

"I know," William slowly nodded. And before Becky would express anymore doubts, he added, "you and I will wait for them to show up."

"I thought you’ll use the monsters you make!" She raised an eyebrow while giving him a weird look.

"We’ll use their help indeed," he calmly smiled, "yet something tells me he doesn’t have that many upper realm masters."

"What makes you say so?"

"If you have such a big force, will you hide behind such sophisticated tactics and tricks?" he gave her a meaningful look, while she nodded in realisation.
