Chapter 1375: A Trap!

Lara knew how war was going, but the one who knew better was Anjie. "Each zone is led by a coalition of forces, three are formed from masters of outside kingdoms, and the last belongs to the dark masters... We were just discussing them before you arrived."

She pointed at the four spots on the map, before stopping over one, "we plan to attack this one, the sole dark master force in the enemy lines..."

"That’s why we are all here," Berry motioned his head towards the leading masters of the thirty-five armies, "and luckily you came at the right moment!"

"It’s lucky timing indeed," William mistook what she meant, "or else you would have made a very wrong move!"

"How so?!" Lara was the one to ask, "we discussed all possibilities of targeting the other three forces. The risk for them to move and support each other is way greater than the chances of them giving support to dark masters."

"That’s a good point, but you totally missed something," William knew his friends made their decision based on a logical line of thought, "to sum it up, you were this close from falling into the enemy trap!"

"Trap?!" Sara muttered, before her eyes shone in dangerous light, "do you mean this fourth force isn’t made of dark masters and instead from other kingdoms masters?!"

Saying this made everyone realise what William just hinted at; it was a trap!

"Well, to be more precise, there isn’t such a thing as masters coming from dark forces or the kingdoms," William realised his friends didn’t grasp what the real situation was, and had to intervene and speak in plain words, "to be more precise, the four forces are all mixed up from dark and kingdom masters."

"This..."

"But our spies told us otherwise!"

"We already followed their movement for the past week, they kept receiving support from each other, only the fourth spot didn’t!"

"That’s just an act," William knew there were lots of reasons that would support his friend’s theory, and that was why this trap was so sophisticated to spot, very deadly if they fell into.

"Can you explain why you said it’s a trap?" Lara stepped up, looked at other girls and friends to go silent, and wait for William to explain.

"First of all, the terrain doesn’t look right," William pointed towards the area surrounding the fourth hot spot, "the area in itself is a vast stretch of plains, yet it’s totally surrounded with big lines of mountains and hills. The only paths to walk through are narrow, closely watched, easily defended by the enemies."

"That’s... Indeed right," Lara nodded when she examined the parts William pointed at, "still how does this tell us this is a trap?"

William felt like no matter how he explained, they wouldn’t get it. Still he wanted them to get this kind of experience, "to spot a trap, you must think of the worst situation you can find yourself in, and see if you can get out from it safely or not," he pointed at the terrain around the hot spot, "this terrain is a cage, naturally formed to capture a big prey, it’s a trap!"

"I second him," Becky could tell there was a huge gap of experience between William and his friends. Yet for someone who came from the upper realm, who faced much worse situations and harsher wars, she could easily spot the trap, like how William spotted it with one glance!

"So... If this is a trap, it means they paid a hefty price to create it," Anjie still couldn’t believe this was a trap. All the intel gathered, all the evidence found, all pointed towards this force being formed entirely of dark masters!

"They need to shoulder the bigger cost, in return for the bigger trophy," William said.

"Then... Which force shall we hit?" Ro was confused, "the other three are closely related to each other, and their support lines are already established..."

"We’ll still hit this zone," out of anyone’s expectations, William pointed at the same spot he warned against earlier.

"You..." Everyone looked at him in a weird way, and yet Becky was the one to inwardly get shaken, "you are a badass master!" she couldn’t help but express her admiration and shock, while everyone else didn’t know what to say.

"But you said it’s a trap!" Anjie totally ignored the useless remark from Becky, and said what everyone had in mind, "why are you picking it then?"

"Realising it’s a trap doesn’t mean we can’t target it," William slowly explained, "in fact, realising the nature of the enemy tactic will help us greatly to shift the tables over them and win this war. Besides..."

He motioned to the one hundred giant behemoths he left surrounding their meeting place, "we have these deadly weapons by our side."

"So... Your plan is to let us fall in the enemy trap and then kill them from the inside out?!" Fang was startled by what William said, "it’s a bad plan, believe me!"

"Who said we’ll just fall into their trap and fight from inside out?" William blinked twice, "we will feign falling into the trap, then target the other three forces when they move out to close the net over us. We’ll do this..."

Raslising that even Fang didn’t get what he wanted to do, made William explain everything in great detail.

The idea was simple, William intended to use the enemy’s trap against itself.

The trap wasn’t that deadly even if his guild forces got surrounded inside. The main reason was that the number of their enemies wasn’t that much to begin with!

To make sure William and his masters would fall into this trap, the enemy put a smaller number of masters in the fourth group. Dark master forces might be many, yet they couldn’t be compared in quantity with the kingdoms’ masters.

William could tell the enemy planned to move lots of reinforcements once they stepped into that trap. And William planned to target these reinforcements.
