Reincarnation Of The Strongest Spirit Master-Chapter 1502: Solving a Problem with Another
"Well… We've tried that," she admitted, her voice tinged with frustration. "But the problem is… We couldn't travel through many of these areas because they are completely flooded with bear tides. Any scouting party we sent was swallowed before they could even reach the next city to plant a portal."
"Why don't you leave that specific task to us then?" the old master suggested. He turned toward the hundreds of elite Purgator experts standing at the back of the hall. "A team of three, how about that?"
He spoke with such casual confidence that it caught the Fox Guild leaders off guard. It was as if he weren't speaking to William's faction leaders, but to his own masters. The group of experts he led all nodded in synchronisation; some smiled confidently, and a few even let out a short, mocking laugh at the idea of the bears being an obstacle.
"See? They agree," the old master said, turning back to Lara and the others. "A hundred teams, each formed of three of my men, is more than enough to cross any distance you require in this realm!
Just provide them with enough rations, a detailed map, and a portal stone, then send them to the area closest to your targets. We will handle the rest. We will help you connect with every master still alive in this world and bring them all together under your banner."
He said it as calmly as if he were suggesting a pleasant walk in a park. To the Purgators, this wasn't bravado; every one of them carried the Blue Spore Origin that would protect their lives from the Scarlet Bears.
Furthermore, even with their cultivation bases suppressed by the lower realm's rules, their combat experience and current strength made each of them as formidable as Fang himself.
"Listen to him," Becky said, noticing the lingering confusion and doubt on the faces of Anjie, Lara, and the others.
"They know exactly what they are doing. This task is nothing compared to what they are truly capable of. If I were you, I'd stop hesitating. Send them out with as many portal cores as they can carry and point them at every corner of the world where you suspect there are survivors. They will reach them, and they will link these places to here."
Lara took a long breath, looking at Ro and Anjie. The logic was sound, and the opportunity was too great to pass.
"Well… If this truly isn't too much to ask, then it is better to distribute the new portals across our three main headquarters. If we spread the network over the three of us, even if something catastrophic happens to one base—like what happened to my city—we won't lose the entire global network."
"Besides, it's much easier to manage the influx this way," Anjie added, her mind already calculating the duties that came with such a chance. "Each of us can handle the influx of refugees and masters, supply their local areas with enough spears, and even take direct control of the fighting in those zones."
"Sure," Ro muttered under her breath, inwardly cursing her luck.
"I'll help Ro to manage this task as well," out of the blue, Lina stepped forward. She was attentive enough to notice how troubled Ro was. Lina could only imagine why; Ro had been thrust from the shadows into a position of immense responsibility, and the sheer scale of the duty nightmare unfolding was enough to make even a veteran general's head spin. 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖
"Thanks," Ro muttered, her shoulders dropping an inch in relief. Seeing the hidden player—the one who had essentially pushed her onto this grand stage—stepping up to share the burden made her feel much better. With Lina's meticulous mind and Panther's raw efficiency supporting her, she felt she might actually survive the coming days.
As it was agreed upon, the next phase of the plan was set in motion. Just as Becky had predicted, using the Blue Purgators proved to be the fastest and most efficient way to establish portals in places surrounded by literal mountains of Scarlet Bears.
The experts from the upper realm didn't just move through the monster tides; they carved through them like hot knives through wax, planting portal anchors in ruins and besieged fortresses that the Fox Guild had previously written off as lost, saving way more human lives than what the most optimistic masters thought.
The phenomenon William had caused was unfortunately limited to sporadic areas across the world. For these specific zones, the Fox Guild used their own masters to reach entrapped survivors, roaming the silence to find anyone hiding in cellars or mountain caves. They found a surprising number of scattered masters.
Many came from already destroyed clans or small towns and villages. Anyone who had survived this long in the apocalypse was, without a doubt, someone with enough power and grit to defend themselves and the few refugees on their side.
Consequently, it wasn't a surprise to see a flood of dark gold masters pouring into the three headquarters, arriving from every corner of the continent.
Then came the intervention of the Blue Purgators. Their teams of three were reaching the impossible zones, adding tens of thousands more masters to the table. All of a sudden, and in the span of just a few days, the three headquarters were facing a totally different problem: what on earth should they do with all these people?
Anna and the old master on her side were surprisingly hands-off regarding the internal management. "We are here to clear the paths and protect the princess," the old man said with a shrug. "This is your world, and you need to arrange the incoming masters and refugees as you please. We do not wish to interfere with your governance."
The first thing the faction leaders did was send reinforcements to the various frontlines that were still buckling under pressure. With the influx of high-level masters, they finally managed to stabilise the situation in the southern and northern regions.
They even managed to push the bears back significantly, destroying two major gates and taking firm control of a third per Fang's and Becky's instructions.
