Seed of Titan-Chapter 110: Confronting Nero
’Who’s that?’ Drai wondered as he squinted hard, trying to identify this newcomer. But in spite of him already adapting to the darkness, there was still too much distance between them, so he couldn’t see the figure clearly.
Drai watched as the unknown figure reached Theia, who immediately stood up and slightly bowed. The two then exchanged some words that couldn’t be heard at all by Drai.
’Is this person Theia’s boss? Does that mean this newcomer is even stronger than her?’ Drai thought upon seeing the exchange, becoming slightly wary.
Drai inspected the unknown figure for a bit longer, but the only two things he could spot was the figure’s height that was way taller than Theia’s and a long thin object that the figure was holding, which Drai presumed to be some kind of weapon.
While Drai was still preoccupied with the newcomer, Theia suddenly nodded and slowly walked past the figure, who promptly turned around and followed her.
Seeing this, Drai instantly panicked.
’Shit, they’re leaving! Should I attack or observe them further?! But I might not get another good chance like this, and they could also be heading back toward the rector, which isn’t good...’
Drai couldn’t make up his mind, but he eventually decided to follow through with his previous plan.
’Fuck it. I can just run away in the worst case,’ Drai reassured himself. Taking a deep breath once more, he finally leaped from the window.
As Drai began plummeting to the ground, he quickly activated Colossal Augmentation and fully transformed midair. His eyes were focusing on the two small figures below him.
Drai pulled his arm, preparing to unleash a massive punch. Unlike Jian, he completely lacked aerial maneuverability, but this was irrelevant because his gigantic frame covered a wide area, making accuracy a nonissue.
Soon, Drai had almost reached his target. He finally punched down, sending a boulder-like fist toward the woman.
Once again, Theia felt a shiver. She tried to leap to the side, but this time she was a bit too late—she was still in her normal form, which reduced her reaction time. Meanwhile, Drai’s fist had already arrived and was about to slam into her.
However, the area suddenly turned bright as a fiery explosion erupted.
A huge blast knocked Drai off course, sending him crashing into the building that he had just jumped from, tearing down a huge chunk of its walls and floors.
After seeing the devastating impact of Drai’s fall, Theia quickly transformed. She stood next to the other figure, ready for combat.
"T-thank you, sir," Theia said, sounding a bit shaken.
Nero didn’t reply. Staring at the large piles of rubble before him with a mixture of intrigue and excitement, he mumbled, "Is this real? The Prophesied Child..."
Theia looked at Nero nervously and asked, "Sir, is he really the one we’ve been waiting for?"
Nero briefly glanced at his subordinate before shifting his gaze to the rubble again.
"He somewhat fits the description, but we have to interrogate him first to be sure. And we’re lucky that we found him during his infancy."
"Infancy?" Theia remarked confusedly, finding it hard to correlate this word to such a powerful young man.
Nero shook his head and raised his staff, saying, "Give him another twenty years or so and we’ll have no one left to tame him. Anyway, you should leave the area. Go help the others."
Having said these words, he shook his scarlet staff which immediately shot out a few large fiery chains. At the same moment, Drai broke out of the rubble and rushed toward his opponent. His shirt was charred, leaving parts of his upper body exposed.
Nero’s chains swiftly wrapped around Drai’s wrists and ankles, impeding his charge. Feeling the heat from the chains, Drai quickly yanked them off with his hands.
Seeing that Drai had easily broken free from Nero’s bindings, Theia realized she had no business being here. Without any hesitation, she promptly scurried away from the battlefield, heading straight toward the residential complex as per Nero’s instructions.
Meanwhile, Nero nodded in acknowledgment as he watched the broken fiery chains dissipate into the air.
"Not only do you have tremendous strength, but your defense is also superb. There are only a handful of people in this continent who can withstand my flame," he praised.
Drai ignored the praise and sent a kick toward the man instead.
Nero waved his left hand and he instantly blurred right before Drai’s giant foot zoomed past him.
Feeling the lack of impact, Drai checked his foot.
"I’m here," Nero’s voice sounded from above.
Drai raised his head and saw that Nero was hovering above him. Without wasting a second, he immediately launched a jumping uppercut.
Instead of moving away, Nero responded with his own attack. He launched a fireball that was three times bigger than Drai’s fist.
Drai wasn’t intimidated by Nero’s imposing attack. He figured he could just punch through the flames and catch the man off guard.
However, upon touching the fireball, Drai realized that his assumption was wrong. Instead of being weightless, the fireball felt heavier than anything that he had ever struck before—his arm jolted from the impact as if his fist had slammed against a mountain. Drai was inevitably knocked back down, losing the clash.
"Truly brave, but also foolish. Do you think the sun has no mass?" Nero remarked. He then snapped his fingers, exploding the fireball.
Like a mini supernova, the fireball erupted in a blinding burst of heat and force, engulfing Drai in a fiery torrent as he slammed into the ground with a thunderous boom. The blast sent shockwaves across the area, decimating the surroundings.
When the flames finally subsided, Drai was lying embedded in the ground. He was practically naked as his whole body was scorched black.
Nero slowly descended until he was twenty feet above Drai.
"Don’t tell me you died from that," he remarked.
Drai spat a mouthful of blood and slowly crawled out of the ground. Amidst his ragged breathing, he replied, "Fuck you."
