Seed of Titan-Chapter 81: Confronting Donk
Countless projectiles and spells flew above Drai, heading toward Donk. Among the projectiles were arrows, knives, kunai, bullets, and even bombs.
The spells were even more varied since most spells were unique. Even the similar fire spells behaved differently; some were small while others were large, and some were quick whereas others were slower. Drai even spotted one fire spell that looked like a slithering snake.
The watching crowd and even the casters themselves were fascinated by the colorful salvo. It was like watching a chaotic rainbow with pieces of metal in between its colors.
Interestingly, Donk was also enjoying the view despite being on the receiving end of it in a matter of seconds.
"Pretty, like candy..." Donk mumbled as his eyes glimmered.
And just as the frontmost spells and projectiles neared Donk, he raised his hand in front of him and enlarged it, creating a wide meatshield that covered his front side entirely.
"Shit..." Klaus remarked as he watched Donk who was still jogging forward, unbothered by their collective attack.
Most of the projectiles bounced off Donk’s hand while a few of them were lodged in the crevices between his fingers. The various spells also quickly dissipated after hitting him, barely leaving any marks.
Sensing that the salvo had ended, Donk retracted his hand and skill.
"Donk like! More candy! Show Donk!" Donk shouted gleefully as he stopped his jog and waved at the students, which greatly annoyed the ones that had launched the attack.
But Klaus didn’t feel any amusement nor annoyance, for he had realized that there was a massive gap between their levels and stats.
"Ranged, cease fire! You’re not gonna hurt him when he’s using that skill. Save your ammo and mana!" Klaus ordered.
The annoyed ranged attackers complied and retracted their mana and weapons. Despite their annoyance due to Donk’s unintentional mockery, they were also aware that brute forcing their attacks would likely be futile.
"Melee, get ready!" Klaus shouted as he turned to Drai. "Can you try holding him in place while we attack him?"
"Sure," Drai replied without hesitating a bit.
"Great. At least try suppressing his hands so he can’t use his enlarging skill to defend himself. And if our attacks are also ineffective, I guess we can only run away," Klaus added with a bitter smile.
"Ahem. Why not just let Drai beat him by himself," Jian suddenly chimed in from the side.
James seemed excited upon hearing this, but Klaus looked at Jian angrily.
"Are you out of your mind!? Do you wanna get your friend killed that much!? Did he steal your girlfriend or something!?"
Jian’s face twisted upon hearing the accusation. He really wanted to slap Klaus but decided not to since it would make him look bad. After all, the guy was their temporary leader.
"Tsk. Whatever," Jian folded his arms and sulked.
Klaus gave Jian a quick side eye before turning back to Drai.
"We’re counting on you, Drai. Don’t get hurt."
Drai nodded and cracked his knuckles while stepping forward, ready to pounce.
James, who was standing beside Jian, whispered to him, "Sorry about Klaus."
"Hmph. Who cares about plebs. Let’s see how he’ll beg this grandfather to forgive him once he lays his eyes on Drai’s real power," Jian replied, raising his chin haughtily.
"Real power? Didn’t he show it to us earlier?" James asked as he glanced at the hole Drai made on the building across the pavement ahead of them.
"Heh. That was just a fraction of his real power."
"Huh?! Then how much stronger is he actually?!" James asked, his eyes widened in disbelief.
Jian thought about it for a moment before stating, "At least three times stronger."
James dropped his jaw. He glanced at the nonchalant Drai while a bead of sweat rolled down his face.
"Then when he beat me with one punch..."
Jian smirked and said, "I’ve heard the story. Sounds like he was barely using half his strength, so around ten percent of his full potential if he uses his skill."
Hearing this, James suddenly felt weak and fell on his knees, which made the nearby students look weirdly at him.
’I’m lucky my head didn’t fly off,’ James thought as he shivered upon recalling his defeat against Drai during their spar.
What both of them didn’t know was that Drai’s maximum output was actually four times stronger now compared to his double size ever since his transcendence rose to 8.1 after his procedure. In terms of raw physical stats, Drai could easily triumph over a second-stage and even a third-stage evolver.
Meanwhile, Donk finally realized that his request was ignored by the students.
"No candy, Donk sad. Heretics meanie. Donk work hard again."
With an upset expression, Donk jogged toward the students once more.
"Here he comes. Go whenever you’re ready, Drai. We’ll follow after you," Klaus said as he readied himself.
Drai was ready since the start, so he immediately dashed forward.
Seeing the smaller Drai that was almost half his size running straight at him, Donk felt amused.
"Baby heretic so brave! Donk like!"
However, seconds before their clash, Drai’s body rapidly grew, becoming even taller than Donk but not bigger due to Donk’s extra chonkiness.
"B-baby heretic?! Why grow fast?!" the baffled Donk frantically remarked upon seeing that Drai was now more than three heads taller than him.
"Because I drink milk twice a day!" Drai shouted as he launched a dropkick that was aimed at Donk’s flabby chest.
Donk quickly shielded himself and blocked the kick.
Boom!
Drai dropped to the ground and rolled backward. He raised his head and saw that Donk was barely pushed by his attack, although now there were two red foot marks on his enlarged palm.
The students watching from the windows and entrance gasped upon witnessing the clash. Donk was obviously beyond their level, so they weren’t that surprised by his resilience. But the power Drai was showing was unthinkable for the level of a student, let alone a first-year.
Klaus and the other melee combatants who were closing in immediately stopped while they were still quite a distance away from the two giants due to the mighty collision. Most of them paled at the thought of getting caught between the two hulks.
James inched closer to Jian and meekly asked, "I-is this really not boss Drai’s real power?"
"James, you’re really asking for a slapping, aren’t you? If I’m lying, I’ll call you grandfather and wash your feet every morning," Jian annoyedly replied.
James quickly shut up since he knew there’s no way the snobby Jian would ever do that. In fact, James was sure that Jian would rather die than lose that much face, which means that he was totally confident with his statement.
James then looked forward and saw that Donk had lowered his shield. Now both of the giants were staring at each other with only less than a couple yards between them.
"Young heretic strong. Donk work harder," Donk said before enlarging his other hand, making both hands the same size.
"Pfft!"
Drai couldn’t help but snort since his opponent now resembled a human crab.
