SIGNING IN: BEING SHOWERED BY HEAVENLY BLESSINGS FOR FIVE YEARS-Chapter 814 - 812: CONFIRMING HIS FEELINGS FOR HER!
Chapter 814: Chapter 812: CONFIRMING HIS FEELINGS FOR HER!
"This place never gets old!" a sigh sounded in the spacious room, echoed by acquiescing voices.
"Indeed. There is this wonderful atmosphere here. Even if this place is so expensive. It’s indeed worth the price!"
"Moreover, it’s been a while since we were here!"
"Forget about that. Have you forgotten why we all gathered here in the first place?" another scowled as he looked at the group of males seated differently with whiskey and wine in front of them.
When that was said, all eyes suddenly shifted to a well-dressed young man who seemed to be coming from a formal event. His attire was truly eye-catching.
Seeing all eyes on him, the young man chuckled faintly, thinking to himself just how that person still remembered about that matter when the conversation was going pretty well. Nonetheless, he looked at his friends with a faint smile and said, "Can’t you give a man a break?"
Upon hearing that, one of them scoffed as he rolled his eyes and disdainfully responded, "Lon, how can you say that? Just looking at you, you don’t seem heartbroken at all!"
Waylon choked when he heard that. He glared at Sean who at times spoke without a filter.
Sean rolled his eyes at Waylon upon seeing what the other was doing and retorted, "Correct me if I am wrong!"
When the others saw the two’s interactions, they couldn’t help but chuckle helplessly.
’They are at it again!’ not finding this odd at all.
Waylon, knowing that he couldn’t beat his shameless friend at this juncture, took a sip of the strong whiskey he had in hand before taking a deep breath and getting ready to narrate his story to his friends.
Seeing him getting ready, the three of them all looked anticipatingly at Waylon, curious about how someone like Waylon could end up single on his anniversary day. free𝑤ebnovel.com
Without further ado, Waylon began to narrate his sorry from start to end. When he was done, there was silence in the private room which made him uneasy for a while before Sean opened his mouth and asked, "You are telling me that she didn’t even give you a chance to say anything before she accused you and broke up with you?"
As if that wasn’t taunting enough, Luke added, "So you didn’t even have a chance to expose your true identity to her, and she called you a pauper?"
Ian, on the other end, chuckled faintly, finding this story quite fascinating and added his two cents. "And she has been cheating on you as well?"
Waylon sighed deeply as he listened to his friends’ remarks.
"Um. It went exactly like that," he dejectedly responded.
Baam!
The sound of the table being slapped sounded, startling the others who weren’t expecting such to happen. All eyes turned to the culprit, Sean, who had angrily slammed the table.
"Damn! How could she do that? After everything and ..... she just ... even if she was wronged. Couldn’t she have amicably done the whole thing?" Sean angrily yelled, his teeth gritted as he thought about Jackie, the woman Waylon used to date.
Although he never truly liked Jackie before, since his brother liked her, he never minded her. At least, despite not knowing Waylon’s true identity, she was still with him without being overly much. If she had persisted and Waylon said anything about marrying her, they were going to support him. But who knew that she was just like the other girls out there?
Waylon smiled wryly when he heard Sean’s angry bursts. He didn’t know whether to laugh or cry in this matter. After all, Sean was angrier than he who had suffered all that.
"Lon, so you just let her go like that?"
"What else could I have done? Stuck to her like glue?" It wasn’t like he didn’t try.
He ran after her, but she fled from him as if he was some vagabond. She left in her new boyfriend’s car without giving him face. What more could he have done?
Seeing Waylon’s sullen face, Ian cleared his throat and asked cautiously, "What do you plan to do? Get her back or....?"
Waylon chuckled, a mysterious glint flickering in his eyes as he placed the glass of whiskey back on the table and crossed his legs as he looked at his friends.
"Hehe, I don’t plan to pursue the matter anymore," he answered, his words tinged with mysteriousness. It made the three more curious. They bombarded him with more questions.
"What do you mean?"
"Don’t tell me that you have always wanted to end things?"
"What’s going on? Tell us."
Seeing his friends’ curiosity, Waylon didn’t keep them on hold for long before he spilt the beans.
"Um .... I had a chat with someone I admire very much earlier and I came to realize that she wasn’t the one at fault at all. Rather, both of us have our own faults. We both contributed to this ending.
I didn’t give her enough security and because I kept my identity hidden, she felt that there wasn’t any future between us. We ....." he talked about what he and Diamond talked about earlier and the more the friends listened, the quieter they became.
After a while, Ian raised a question. "After all this, you think that letting her go is the best choice?"
Waylon nodded with a smile. "Um, that’s indeed the case. To be honest, I am not a saint. I have been drifting apart from her, emotionally wise for a while now," with a deprecating smile, he confessed to his friends.
When the three heard that, they looked at him a bit baffled, as they weren’t expecting to hear such shocking news.
"You .... What do you mean?"
"Have you fallen for someone else?"
Meanwhile, Sean looked at Waylon with a knowing look but didn’t ask a single thing.
Waylon stretched his hand towards his glass and raised it to his lips before gulping down all contents and feeling the scorching heat coursing through his esophagus. He closed his eyes briefly as he placed the glass down and when he opened them, he took a deep sigh before answering, "I think that I am in love with her and it’s a bit serious!"
"You!" Sean exclaimed as he pointed his finger at Waylon, not expecting him to accept and admit to his feelings so easily like that. "Man, are you freaking serious?"
Waylon chuckled dejectedly as he looked at Sean, who probably had guessed about what was going on and defeatedly admitted, "I am. At first, I thought that it was a fleeting emotion, but guess what happened today?"
Sean suddenly had a bad feeling when he heard that. He couldn’t help but remember how Waylon sounded when he called earlier or how he looked when they saw him at the club.
Rather than looking lovelorn, he seemed to be in a good mood. It wasn’t as if he had just ended things, but was more in bloom. For a man who had just gotten out of a relationship but was in love with another. If he didn’t meet his crush, then what exactly happened?
He looked at Waylon with eyes that nearly bulged out of the sockets and excitedly asked, "Don’t tell me the person you had a chat with was her. You finally met with her? How?"
Sean’s excitement took aback both Luke and Ian, who were in the dark. Judging by the way Sean was talking, it was as if he knew the person Waylon was crushing on. What was happening?
"You guys .... Why don’t you include us as well? Stop talking in riddles!" Ian interjected, feeling a bit wronged at being left out.
Meanwhile, Waylon was all smiles as he thought of how beautiful she was in person.
Sean smiled wryly when that was said and looked apologetically at Luke and Ian before turning to look at Waylon, who had a sheepish smile on his face.
He shook his head helplessly, finding Waylon’s state a bit too funny. It reminded him of how he seemed to look whenever Ruby was involved. It seemed that the brothers were fated to be together.
"Lon, do you want to tell them, or should I tell them?" he asked teasingly, his words jolting Waylon back to reality.
Waylon rolled his eyes at Sean with a glint of disdain before looking at Luke and Ian.
"Um ... its ... anyway, you know Diamond, right?"
"Who doesn’t know her?" came the common response.
Waylon chuckled embarrassingly at that response but still continued, "Um.. though it might sound a bit farfetched. I fell for her a while ago and I have been feeling guilty whenever I thought about Jackie. After all, whether I pursued Diamond physically or mentally, it was still a form of cheating. I ....." he explained the whole matter to his friends.
The more they listened, including Sean, who didn’t know that the matter was that deep, the more they were shocked.
"You ..... you are in for her that deep?" Sean doubtfully asked, in disbelief at what he had just heard.
Waylon sighed deeply as he poured another drink for himself and gulped it down at once.
"I am in badly. I thought that since our paths might barely cross, I would be able to control myself. That is why I still tried my best to make it right for Jackie. We have been together for three years, she is a good girl and honestly, I wouldn’t have minded to spend the rest of my life with her," Waylon confessed, a helpless smile on his face as he recalled how everything went downhill before he could do anything.
"I knew that falling for her was just a dream. She is independent and not easily influenced. She is not the type that background might fool....."
