Chapter 845: Chapter 843: MEETING ACQUAINTANCES

After they left, the valuables were given to the bodyguards, who took them back first. As for them, they didn’t leave hurriedly as it was time to mingle with others.

How could they just come and go without saying hi to some friends?

So, Diamond tagged along and even benefited in the process. Prince and Dean were well-connected, and thanks to them, she exchanged business cards. Although it wasn’t certain that they would cooperate in the future, it didn’t hurt to have an extra person.

"Diamond!"

While that was happening, Diamond heard someone calling her name. She turned in the direction from which the voice was coming from and when she saw the other person, a helpless smile appeared on her face.

The twins also saw the person, and they both rolled their eyes before looking away.

When Diamond saw the twins’ actions, she couldn’t stop them but laughed dryly as she thought to herself, ’these girls are still holding grudges?’

However, the other person in question didn’t seem to care about the twins’ attitude.

"Sis, why didn’t you tell me that you came?" Portia aggrievedly complained as she hugged Diamond’s arm.

Diamond chuckled as she looked at the young girl who used to be like a porcupine but after that face slapping event, she became a good child.

Diamond ruffled the girl’s head, earning an aggrieved glare, but she ignored it as she answered, "I thought that the young heiress was busy. I didn’t want to disturb!" lying with a straight face.

As long as the three girls are put together, who knows what kind of bombs they would make?

She might as well keep them far apart, but fate has other plans.

The twins looked at Portia and scoffed.

"Shameless!"

But Portia rolled her eyes at them and didn’t bother to answer them at all.

With the appearance of Portia, Diamond no longer felt like following the adults. She might as well roam around with the girls and find Letty if she was still there.

So, despite their reluctance to move together, Diamond successfully abducted the three girls and started making way to the hall.

On their way, they came across Portia’s father whom Diamond had a brief chat with. The two didn’t bother to talk about the previous discomfort but exchanged business cards instead.

After that, the girls continued and luckily came across Letty, who introduced them to her husband.

"How is your mother?"

"Mother is fine. She will be sad when she learn that you attended and she missed you!"

"Haha, I will see her when I come to that side. It won’t be long!" Diamond chucklingly responded, thinking about how she was truly going to the capital city.

After all, it’s been a while since she checked on the Radiance Manor. Moreover, her jet was going to be delivered there. She still needed to go pick it up and have it flown to Frin City. She couldn’t keep her baby in a faraway city.

Letty also pulled Diamond to the side and discussed the remaining pills. She didn’t manage to bid for anything and still had some money.

Diamond wasn’t one to refuse money, so she promised to give it to her before she leaves for Frin City, and Letty was very happy.

After making an appointment, the two parted ways and Diamond was dragged by the girls who introduced her to some of their friends who had attended. Diamond was happy to meet with everyone.

There were even some who knew her, and they chatted about several topics.

"Diamond, can we talk?"

While enjoying that wonderful moment with people around her age, that familiar disgusting voice sounded in her ears.

Diamond turned her head in the direction of the voice and glared at the man she hadn’t seen in years, with all sorts of emotions brewing inside of her.

"Are you sure that you want to talk to me here?" she asked sarcastically, her lips rising in a sneer.

At that moment, the ladies and gentlemen chatting with Diamond noticed that something was about to happen.

The twins worriedly nudged Diamond, but she looked at them reassuringly, and they felt much better. There was no way that she wouldn’t win against a scumbag, right?

Donald, despite hearing that tone, still nodded as he answered, "I just want to talk, please!"

Diamond sneered nonetheless and nodded. "Fine. Let’s go somewhere then!" before starting to walk away.

Donald’s eyes lit up when he heard that. Without caring for the secretary next to him, he hurriedly followed Diamond, and several people saw all that: Dean, Evelyn and Kian.

The two ex-lovers found a secluded place away from the hall, and Donald looked nervously at Diamond.

He was used to seeing her on the screen, and yet on this fateful day, he finally saw how beautiful she had become.

He had been regretting it. If time could be rewound, he would do so and treat her better. He wouldn’t have embarrassed her or humiliated her, but ended it in peace. But that couldn’t be done.

He could only wallow in grief and regret, watching her bloom every single day and become an icon to many people.

When he thought about the person, he threw this diamond for, the regret intensified.

Diamond watched the changes on the scumbag’s face and couldn’t help but sneer out loud.

"I don’t give a damn what you are thinking about right now but Donald, I advise you to say whatever you want before I change my mind. The two of us no longer have any fate!" she coldly said to him.

If he hadn’t called her in front of so many people, she wouldn’t have bothered to talk to him. Seeing him in person, she just wanted to bash him and teach him a lesson. Unfortunately, she was in such a place. She still needed to keep face.

Donald grimaced when he heard her impatience. That familiar loving tone she used to use on him was forever gone. He felt his heart getting crushed, but who could he blame?

There was so much that he wanted to say to her, and yet now that he was facing her, he could only utter, "I am sorry," in an embarrassing tone before hurrying away.

’WTF!’

{What just happened?}

Both mother and son were at a loss for words about how Donald acted. That was completely unexpected. At most, they both expected him to speak greasy words, whitewash himself and the like. As for apologizing and running away, that was unexpected.

They both didn’t know what to say at all.

What they didn’t know was that the moment he stood there, Donald couldn’t help but feel ashamed as he remembered how he once treated Diamond.

He didn’t treasure her but toyed with her and broke her heart. He remembered how hurt she was and how she vowed to deal with him if he dared bother her again.

When he recalled how he got mocked by those people earlier and how he might end up in trouble and lose it all because of that meeting. He could only utter a sorry and leave.

He didn’t know what these emotions were, but they weren’t that special to lose the only thing that made him who he was.

Without the family money, the company and connections, he would be a nobody. He didn’t want to be a fool who would lose all that for a woman who didn’t want him.

So, why bother embarrassing himself?

He had done so enough already. Time to cool down.

Meanwhile, on Diamond’s side. It took a while before she finally calmed down. She couldn’t help but chuckle as she mumbled out loud, "What a funny person!" finding all hatred towards the man vanishing.

Perhaps that sorry was what she had been looking for all these years. After all, that man had never uttered that word before. She didn’t know if the apology was sincere or not, but she kind of liked it now that she thought about it.

{Should we send the information I compiled to Donald to his father?}

That jolted her out of her thoughts. She chuckled as she started moving, "Nope, but send it to him. Just tell him that if he bothers me again, that will find its way to his father, and I don’t forgive him!"

Who said that an apology should be accepted?

Let him suffer for years to come. She wasn’t the only girl who suffered in his hands. Let him experience some pain.

{Sure. Sending right away!} Andrea excitedly responded before disappearing.

Diamond chuckled helplessly at how Andrea loved causing drama, but who didn’t?

As she returned to the hall, she couldn’t help but feel someone looking at her. Her head unconsciously turned in that direction only to face a face that used to be so appealing to him. She even dreamt about him casually.

’Fairy, does he remember me by any chance?’ Without stopping, she asked the fairy sister about this worrisome situation.

’Nope, and even if he does, it wouldn’t matter. Everything had been erased. Or should I go and erase them again?’

Diamond chuckled slyly when she heard that. ’That will be awesome. I don’t want him giving me the creeps. Let him forget everything. I want to live in peace without worrying about assassins coming after my family.’

’I will do so. Just wait for my good news.’

’Thank you!’

She felt relieved after hearing that. With the fairy’s reassurance, she no longer needed to worry about Kian at all.

He was the past, and she wanted to deal with the future only.

Who made him betray her?
