Chapter 803: 800: Becoming a Hunter (2)

After entering the Hunter Association, he met with the beautiful female receptionist who asked him for his Miracle Sigil Card.

After giving it to her, he noticed the shock on her face, and he knew exactly why.

He was a Tier 3.

The female receptionist was a mere Tier 1, and because he was not unleashing his exposed aura on her, she was not able to sense his Tier.

However, aside from that, Corey knew that she was extremely weak even amongst other Tier 1s. Her foundation was poor.

At first, she was stunned but after a few seconds, she regained her composure and bowed at him.

"Please hold on for some moment, sir."

Corey nodded without much of a change in his expression.

The female receptionist sighed in relief, and then she quickly walked away and entered a room that was meant for staffs only.

Corey turned and rested his arms on her counter while looking around with an indifferent expression.

The interior of the first floor was extremely large, and Corey could see at least fifty people in the hall.

Most of them were sitting with their allies while being served drinks and food as they spoke, bantered, or laughed amongst themselves.

While others either walked to the mission boards or went to the second floor.

He felt and saw the gazes of some individuals that were either blatantly staring at him or taking subtle glances at him.

He could feel the curiosity in some while for others, he could feel their wariness.

’Hmm... The wary ones are also Tier 3s... Some are Tier 2s... They can feel my aura as a Tier 3 and they’re wary.’

Corey shifted his gaze to a golden plaque that hung at the center of the public hall.

’Anything that breathes can be hunted. Fear not what should be feared.’

Corey raised a brow as he read the words that was said to have been written by the Association Master.

Before he could ponder on his thoughts regarding the words, he felt a presence behind him.

He turned, and he saw another woman walking in front of the female receptionist.

’A Tier 3? Which means she’s obviously higher ranked in the association.’

’Her foundation is pretty average. Nothing special about it... But from what I’ve seen here, she’s stronger than a lot of the Tier 3s in the first floor.’

As Corey was observing the female Tier 3, the woman stopped in front of him and smiled.

"Welcome Mr. Ryan. My name is Amy. Please follow me."

Corey raised his brows slightly in confusion as he looked at Amy who was gesturing to her front.

He glanced at the Tier 1 female receptionist, and he saw that her gaze was lowered in respect.

"Hmm."

He hummed, and then he nodded, "Alright. Lead the way."

"Surely." Amy smiled at him, and then she looked at the Tier 1 female receptionist.

"Good job, Maya. You can go back to your station."

"Thank you, Ma."

Amy nodded, and then she glanced at Corey.

"Please follow me."

Corey said nothing, and then he began walking behind her with an indifferent expression.

After some time, they entered a room, and the moment Corey stepped inside, he raised a brow when he saw that it looked like a training room of sort.

There was nothing in the room except for the silver walls and floor that contained a lot of Mystic Mana and some other incredible properties along with hidden formations.

’Self-Repairing formations... Damage absorption formations... Barriers... Alarms... And healing formations.’

’... Hmm... Interesting.’

Corey thought with a slightly intrigued expression, and then he glanced at Amy who was now standing beside a wall with her placed on it.

She looked at him, "Although your Miracle Sigil Card says you’re a Tier 3, and I can also sense that you’re a Tier 3, we still need to assess your abilities."

Corey raised a brow, "And you’re going to assess my abilities by sparring with me?"

"Yes."

She pushed her hand on the wall, and the sound of gears turning resounded in the room.

Corey looked down, and he saw the ground opening and a weapons rack slowly rose in front of him.

"Pick a weapon, and then we’ll spar. You don’t have to worry about injuries or the damage that would be done to this place."

"Both your injuries and any damage done to this place would heal."

"I’ll try not to injure you too much so that we don’t have to use a healer at the end of the day."

Corey looked at her, and he saw her picking up a silver spear from the weapons rack that was in front of her.

"You keep on saying my injuries. You don’t believe that you can get injured?"

Amy smiled, but Corey could see the confidence and disdain and mockery in her eyes when he said these words.

"You expect me to lose to an assassin that’s not attacking me from behind?... Especially one that relies on poison?"

Corey remained silent, however, he was shaking his head inwardly.

’I see... The class on my Miracle Sigil Card says Poison Assassin, and a lot of people have this stereotype that people that rely on poison are weak... Especially an assassin that is believed to only be good when attacking from behind.’

’How foolish... If you were in the Underworld, this belief of yours would vanish immediately.’

Sigh

Corey sighed, and then he casually picked up a longsword from the weapons rack, causing the weapons rack to recede.

"I promise not to use poison in my fight against you."

’If I do, you’ll surely die.’

Amy frowned, "I don’t need you to make any promises. And I told you that this place is going to heal us. There are also healers on stand by, so poisonous attacks are not a problem."

’Mine are.’

Corey thought while rolling his eyes. Amy saw this, and she frowned.

"Are you looking down on me?"

"Let’s just get this over with." Corey replied with an indifferent tone.

"You’re going to regret your words."

"I seriously doubt that." Corey gave a small smile.
