Chapter 802: 799: Becoming a Hunter (1)
Serithal, the capital of the Kingdom of Miracles.
The Kingdom of Miracles had numerous major cities, but one thing that every New Earthling could attest to was that Serithal was the most unique city in all of the kingdom, and even the entire Haven Continent itself.
The streets of Serithal were paved with smooth, polished cobblestones that reflected the light of the sun. Merchants, hunters, nobles, and commoners filled the roads, all going about their daily lives.
There were also market stalls that lined both sides of the main street, selling everything from food and herbs to weapons and rare materials. This was what Corey referred to as the regular market. freēwēbηovel.c૦m
What made Serithal truly unique was how the old and new blended together.
Wooden and stone buildings with sloped rooftops, chimneys, and hanging signs filled the lower districts of the capital.
Many homes had small gardens or colourful cloth canopies shading their doorways, and lanterns hung from iron hooks along the roads, ready to light up the city when night fell.
Yet, above these ordinary buildings, tall crystalline towers stretched towards the sky. These towers weren’t made from any regular stone or metal, but from glowing, semi-transparent crystal that pulsed faintly with mana.
These were the Miracle Towers- structures created using the power of the Universal System itself. It housed guilds, administrative halls, and several research centers.
Farther ahead, in the very center of Serithal, stood the Miracle Palace.
Corey had seen several castles in the Shattered Dimension of the Old Ones, but even he had to admit that the Miracle Palace was unlike anything he had ever seen.
Its base was built with massive dark-gray stone blocks, but as the palace climbed higher, it shifted into shining white marble and gleaming gold.
Six tall spires surrounded the main palace dome, with each spire representing one of the Six Great Pillars of the Kingdom.
The dome itself was plated with enchanted gold, and on its peak was a flag with the symbol of the Miracle Kingdom- a hand holding a burning star.
Any individual that crosses the gates of Serithal would instantly notice that the air inside the city felt different. The mana felt thicker, and each breath seemed to carry a faint sweetness to it.
Above all of this, a group of silver-blue birds called Miracle Swifts soared gracefully across the skies of Serithal, leaving faint trails of light behind them.
----
As Corey shifted his attention from the entire Serithal to his current goal- The Miracle Hunter Association, he looked up.
His eyes reflected the image of the building of the Miracle Hunter Association, and he could not help but take a moment to observe the building and the surroundings itself.
The Miracle Hunter Association was an organization whose name carried weight not just in Serithal, but throughout the entire Kingdom of Miracles.
The association’s headquarters which he was in front of was located along the western flank of the capital, just beyond the Commerce Ring, standing at the edge of the Borderstone Plaza- a massive, open district known for guilds, martial halls, and adventurer groups.
Unlike the polished white stone of government buildings or the holy beauty of the Miracle Temple, the Miracle Hunter Association was built like a scarred fortress.
Thick, weather-beaten walls of grey and brown stone rose around it, marked by deep scars- some from claws, some from magic attacks, and others from weapons.
The structure had no elegant domes or intricate carvings. It was straightforward, brutal, and practical.
A single wide banner hung at the top of the association gates- black cloth, with a silver spear stabbing through a spiral circle.
The symbol of a hunter defying fate.
There were three floors above ground and an unknown number of floors beneath.
No one knew how deep the association went. Only high-ranking Hunters had access to the lower floor, but they never spoke of what lay beneath.
However, there some rumors, and some believed that the lower floors either held an extremely valuable treasure, a powerful weapon, or an extremely powerful monster.
Although a lot of people had numerous thoughts and ideas as to what the association was hiding, Corey knew exactly what it was that they were hiding.
Through his Eyes of Omniscience, he could see everything that was below the Miracle Hunter Association headquarters, and he was slightly surprised by what he saw because it was a unique space that held a System Trial.
The System Trial was one of the recent upgrades that occured to the system of New Earth, and although Corey had never experienced or seen one before, he could hear the conversations occuring amongst several high level individuals in the association.
’A system trial space huh?... Interesting.’
’From the looks of it, the Miracle Hunter Association is benefiting a lot from this trial space, and it seems like Jeremy Draker and a lot of other nobles and influential individuals are wary of the power that the Hunter Association would be able to gain from the system trial.’
’Luckily for them... No hunter from the Hunter Association has been able to pass the system trial.’
’Hmm... Luck?... Well... It’s not surprising since Jeremy Draker is a Child of Heaven.’
Corey thought inwardly, and then his gaze landed on the surroundings of the Hunter Association.
Outside, crowds moved in and out. Some were in armor stained with monster blood, others in robes with staffs in their hands.
Inside, the first floor served as a public hall. Hunters, mercenaries, rogue adventurers, and even nobles occasionally gathered to hire or get hired.
Large wooden boards filled with missions stretched across the walls, and some were written in ink while others were translucent screens from the system itself.
The second floor was where processed materials were examined. Hunters who brought in enough materials gained reputation points within the Association, and those points weren’t just numbers, they were keys to restricted knowledge, items, and authority.
The third floor was where the real business happened.
Strategic meetings. Contract discussions with nobles. Private missions for the kingdom. Entry assessments for the highest Hunter ranks.
Sigh
’Alright. Time to become a hunter.’
Corey released a soft sigh as he entered the Hunter Association building.
