Chapter 459: Chapter 459: The Sentinels (Part 5)

"<Ravage: Cloak>, <Command: Don’t Move>," I chanted rapidly, Titan going completely stiff as I shot towards him at full speed.

A sharp gasp rang out as Petrus trembled and collapsed onto his knees, right as I shot through the middle of Titan’s back.

As I carved through his flesh with the energy of Ravage wrapped around me, I unleashed sharp bursts of Obliterate at ten percent all around me, grimacing as I felt Titan starting to move again.

Suddenly, a muffled crash rang out as I felt one of my blasts hit something solid. Light hit my eyes as the walls of flesh surrounding me slid off and I emerged from the massive body, glancing down to see Titan sprawled across the ground, a massive pool of blood forming around him.

"Woah, that was close...I almost got crushed!" Gasped Petrus, collapsed on the ground to the large corpse’s left.

I deactivated Enrage as I flew down towards him, landing beside him and letting out a slow exhale. Blood was pouring out of his eyes and nostrils, he looked completely drained and like he was about to pass out.

"Great work...that was just the opening I needed, you saved a lot of people," I remarked gratefully, giving him a pat on the shoulder.

"W-Well...I do represent Sanctuary Epsilon, so it’s only right that I have at least a small part to play in protecting it," He replied with a wry smile.

"<My apologies, Chief, I couldn’t make a real difference in that battle>," Chimed in Ira, a frustrated grimace on his face as he swooped down and landed with a sigh.

"Don’t worry about it, the important thing is that it’s over. Seriously, though, this thing was way too strong. To be that much faster than us at that size and brute strength, that’s just unfair," I responded with a grimace.

"<I imagine that’s how Archdemons and Dragons must feel about you, my Lord>," Remarked Acedia, as he flopped onto the ground wearily.

"I guess so, that’s-...," I began, before trailing off as Petrus let out a sharp, rasping cough, adding as flecks of blood sprayed out of his mouth, "Hey, you alright?"

"Y-Yes, I...I’ll be just fine. The more powerful a target is, the harder it is to restrain them with my Shadow Bind Spell. If I use it on a target less powerful than I am, I can restrain them almost indefinitely, the weaker they are, the easier it is.

Naturally, I’ve never held down anything even close to that powerful, I felt like every blood vessel in my body was going to explode. At least a few definitely did, and-...," He explained, before trailing off as he coughed out more blood, before continuing, "I-I feel woozy...I’m in so much pain right now."

"We need to get you to a Healer," I frowned, as I took out my I-Watch and strapped it on, bringing up the display.

"No, leave them to tend to the civilians. Trust me, this isn’t as bad as it looks," Replied Petrus with a shake of his head.

"You sure?"

"Yes, I am."

My passive lie detection isn’t going off, so he’s telling the truth.

"In that case, could you contact the Union and ask them to arrange a pair of jets right away? One to Sanctuary Gamma, and the other to Zeta," I requested, as I skimmed through the updates on the situation.

The other X-Aces are all currently fighting the other two unknown Monsters. Aria’s in Sanctuary Gamma, in Europe.

If I got on a jet and headed there immediately, it’d take about ten to fifteen minutes, at most, to get there.

The other Monster is in Sanctuary Zeta, in Russia...it’ll take around twenty to twenty-five minutes to get there from Sanctuary Epsilon.

"You’re going to keep fighting? Alright, then, leave it to me," He nodded, before shakily raising his arm and bringing up his I-Watch display, tapping on the screen rapidly.

"Alright, I’ll head to Sanctuary Gamma. You two will go to Sanctuary Zeta, you’ll back up the X-Aces fighting the Monster there," I instructed Ira and Acedia.

"<Understood, Chief>."

"<Do I have to? I really don’t want to fight another Monster on the same level as this one>."

"Okay, I’ve informed them, they’re on it. The jets should be ready to depart by the time you reach the Union, it’s about four or five kilometers straight that way," Petrus informed me, as he pointed in the direction he was talking about.

"Thanks, appreciate it. I’ll leave my other summons here to help with the rescue efforts. There could be some people still alive under all that rubble, so the extra muscle should help," I replied, before rushing off at top speed.

I activated Arouse and propelled myself with Negative Energy, unleashing a sharp burst of speed, Ira and Acedia hurrying after me.

I have little more than a minute left with Descent, and about forty seconds with Enrage, that’s not a lot...so, I should conserve those power boosts.

I’m not going to stand much of a chance against Monsters on Titan’s level in my base form, regardless of whether I’ve got backup. 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚

I’d probably manage to evade and survive for a bit, maybe land a few minor hits here and there, but I just don’t have the firepower to kill Monsters this powerful in my base form.

I hope the others have enough of a numbers advantage to make up for the disparity in power. Aria should be able to hold her own, she may be less powerful than I am, but her attacks have a lot more firepower and destructive force.

However, she’d be in serious trouble if she’s up against something this strong that also has Elemental Immunity.

Best case scenario, the Monster she’s up against will be dead by the time I get there. If not, I need to hold on for just a little while longer.

There it is, the Union building, it’s just up ahead...it shouldn’t be much longer before I get there, please let me make it in time...
