Chapter 161: Chapter 161: Don’t Leave Me... I’m Scared

Evelyn’s gaze lightly trembled. Looking at Caden’s handsome face, which was full of undisguised worry, her lips curled into a faint smile.

"Are you alright or not!" Caden was getting more anxious, "Hmm? Speak up! Tell me wherever it hurts! I didn’t allow you to leave, so you mustn’t go, understand? Hold on, I’ll take you to the hospital! Erin Morgan, if you dare get into trouble, I will definitely not let you off!"

His figure became more and more blurred in her vision. Using her last bit of strength, she tightly clutched at his shirt, murmuring softly, "Don’t leave me... I’m scared..."

Her vision went dark, and she lost all consciousness.

When Evelyn regained consciousness again, the first thing she noticed was a strong smell of medicine.

Opening her eyes and looking around, she was lying on a hospital bed, and the ward was empty except for her.

She furrowed her brow slightly, remembering that Caden had saved her!

Where did he go?

Being alone was so terrifying!

She tried to get up, only to discover that it hurt all over every time she moved.

Enduring the pain, she got out of bed, and as she approached the doorway, she heard Caden’s voice. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞

"Is this how you maintain security in your jurisdiction?" Caden was clearly furious, "In broad daylight, in a monitored area, someone dares to kidnap—how do you expect taxpayers to accept this?"

"We sincerely apologize for frightening Mrs. Lockwood. We will definitely investigate this matter thoroughly!" An unfamiliar male voice replied.

Evelyn pushed the door open, and only when she saw Caden did her heart finally settle and return to its place.

Caden turned his head, and upon seeing Evelyn standing at the door looking at him, his brow furrowed sharply.

Striding over to her, he began to reprimand her: "Who told you to get out of bed? The doctor said you’re very weak and need to rest well! How old are you, and don’t you know how to take care of your own body?"

Listening to Caden’s furious rant, Evelyn’s eyes remained on his hands.

His hands were still bleeding, with fresh blood dripping to the floor, a horrifying sight.

Meeting his stern gaze, she asked, "Why haven’t you bandaged your hand?"

Caden didn’t even glance at his own hand, and lowly growled, "Get back to bed, now!"

She got even more anxious, "Your hand is bleeding!"

"Can’t you just listen for once, woman?" He was exasperated and, without another word, tried to carry her back to the ward.

Evelyn dodged aside, raising Caden’s hand to inspect closely.

His hand was a bloody mess, embedded with tiny shards of glass, just the sight of it was painful.

"Doesn’t it hurt?" She bit her lip gently, her eyes full of guilt, "Couldn’t you have used something to smash the glass? You’re in a hospital and you’re not bandaging it, who’s not taking care of themselves now?"

"I saved you, and now you’re blaming me?" Caden’s tone turned fierce, "You really are a..."

"What am I?" Evelyn raised her voice, "I’ve told you to get it bandaged—why don’t you listen? Can’t you stop being so stubborn? Would it kill you to occasionally take others’ advice?"

She glared at him angrily, not giving him a chance to speak as she continued to explode: "Let’s go find a doctor! Get them to properly treat your wound! Would it hurt to be a little more obedient? Being good makes for a harmonious relationship."

Finishing her rant, she pulled his sleeve and walked forward.

The police officer nearby, who had just been lectured by Caden, was now so shocked by the sight of him being completely subdued by Evelyn that his jaw nearly dropped in astonishment.

So, the mighty First Young Master Lockwood was henpecked by his wife!
