Slowly Falling into His Love Trap-Chapter 183: The High-and-Mighty Man Was Deeply Hurt by Her
"You’re really not going to ask?" Julian Keaton looked crestfallen. "That’s why I say, Caden Lockwood, you’re really not a good drinking buddy! There’s no fun drinking with you at all! I should find someone else!"
Saying this, Julian took two steps toward the door.
Seeing that Caden had no intention of stopping him, Julian halted and looked him up and down, muttering, "Looks like you’ve been hit pretty hard by that woman!"
Upon hearing this, Caden’s brow twitched, and something flashed quickly in his dark eyes. The expression seemed sorrowful, as if filled with resentment and grief, overwhelming the strength that usually surrounded him.
"My God!" Julian stepped forward a few paces. "I’ve known you for so many years, and I’ve never seen you like this! Caden, did you... give all your heart away?"
"Why are you still here?" Caden felt only annoyance. "Weren’t you fussing about leaving from the moment you arrived? Why are you still here now? Julian Keaton, are you annoying or what?"
"I’m worried that if I leave, you’ll drink yourself into a stupor with no one to talk to!" Julian raised his voice. "You’re hiding in this room drinking. What if you suddenly get a headache? Who will save you?"
Caden didn’t reply, just grunted in frustration.
Reflexively touching his suit pocket, the little medicine pouch Evelyn Morgan had sewn for him was still there.
Every time his suit came back from dry cleaning, she would remember to put the medicine in, carefully checking it every few days, seeming more concerned about his health than he was. 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎
But such a woman, right in front of him, said the man she loved was someone else, and being with him made her nervous and unhappy.
Could it be that he was really that scary?
Caden felt so hurt.
The confidence that had always been overflowing was so easily shattered and destroyed.
Julian simply sat down next to Caden, let out a long sigh, and the two of them continued drinking in silence...
After returning from Cecilia Lynch’s house, Evelyn Morgan paced back and forth in the living room.
Whenever she heard any slight sound outside, she would get up to see if Caden Lockwood had returned.
However, she waited and waited for a long time but never saw a trace of Caden.
"Is the Young Madam waiting for the Young Master?" Aunt May asked, "Why not give him a call?"
"I’m not waiting for him!" Evelyn insisted. "I just ate too much tonight and feel restless, so I’m walking around."
Aunt May suspiciously looked Evelyn up and down. "Really?"
"Of course! When have I ever lied?" Evelyn gave Aunt May a sweet smile. "Aunt May, it’s late. You should go to sleep. I’ll watch some TV and then go to bed myself."
After Aunt May went back to her room, Evelyn let out a deep sigh, her eyes dim and devoid of any joy.
Looking around, the house felt so boring without Caden Lockwood.
Also, the master bedroom bed was so big, sleeping on it alone felt scary, like a ghost might pop out from nowhere.
How annoying!
How could he be so willful, just deciding not to come home?
She lay by the window, gazing outside, wondering what Caden Lockwood was doing.
Could he be with Shannon Dunn right now?
Spending the day with Shannon and the night with her too, do they intend to sleep together?
"No way!" Evelyn exclaimed with a big reaction.
She shivered with fright, patted her heart, and lay down on the sofa with her lips pouting high.
Caden Lockwood shouldn’t be that irresponsible, right?
He’s quite a gentleman!
When she didn’t want to, he never forced himself on her.
But if Shannon was willing, would he do it then?
Humph!
Maybe they should set a curfew at home, strictly forbidding anyone from staying out past ten o’clock!
