Soul World Of Strong Souls-Chapter 58: THE PUNISHMENT 8

The windy air got thick with tension. Hearts raced, and fear settled on Kai’s heart. He got dropped behind a rock to take cover, but he thought maybe his Arctos was playing with him.

With a smile on his face, he asked as he stood up, "Hey, what was that for?"

But the Arctos was fiercely growling. Its growl was so loud that Kai got shaken too.

He glared at the arctos that didn’t growl like that before. He said, "Whoa, this thing is scarily growling. Maybe there’s a problem since ... Wait, don’t tell me that sick feeling I felt was for the upcoming danger. if it is ...." His smile faded, and his eyes widened as he thought of the feeling.

FLASHBACK

When they started to get in the rocky area, Kai felt a big shot on his head that came as a headache, and also, he got some cold chills. He didn’t put it in mind; as for the headache, he thought that maybe it was from tiredness since he was tired.

He was coming from fighting the other worlder, Goro, and then punishment got him to fight with the bear.

Suddenly, he stood up from behind the boulder and glared at where the Arctos went, growling. His eyes widened as he saw some rocks flying towards the Arctos.

The Arctos growled louder, and instantly, it had its own attack ready. It used its own power to create snowballs, and it shot a lot of them towards the unknown creature that was shooting those rock blades that flew straight to the Arctos like war arrows.

A bit surprised and scared, his heart racing while panting, he asked, "Damn, what’s that?" He meant the shooter of the upcoming rocks.

He then glared at the Arctos and silently said, ’It listens to my commands, right? Which means I can help it to strategize.’ he said as he thought of a way to help the Arctos.

He then loudly said, "Alright, Arctos, run to the right!" The arctos didn’t react.

He repeated, "Hey Arctos, run to the right!"

"Hey!"

The beast didn’t hear what Kai was saying; it didn’t even hear him. It was mostly concentrated on its new opponent.

Kai looked down in frustration and said, "Dammit, what now?"

A ray of hope reached out to him, and he said, "Cool, let’s help out."

The Arctos was shooting snowballs only while the blades approached. It was in one position, checking around for where to go, where it could make a surprise attack.

Suddenly, there was a lot of snow in the air; the arctos looked behind and saw Kai standing with his right hand stretched to where it was.

Kai smiled and said, "Go to the right, now; I’ve got you covered!" With all the snow in the air, the enemy was left blinded, leaving the Arctos’ plan of making a surprise attack worth it. Suddenly, the rocks came out from the snow and went straight for Kai.

Kai was still smiling as his mind rang with the words he spoke. ’Wow, so cool, this thing is on a whole different level. I criticized it when it was used to attack me.’ He admired the Arctos’ magic.

He continued saying, ’And using magic is an easy thing; I thought maybe it was hard.’ He said so after he successfully used it to help the Arctos.

While he was still talking alone, his left shoulder got cut by a rock blade. During the cut he suddenly held his shoulder with his right hand. Angrily he looked at where the blade came from and saw 5 rocks coming his way.

He jumped to the right side, where there was a big rock that was around a meter tall. He bent his neck down and also glared at his wound. Suddenly, there were 3 rocks that hit the rock from behind, and the other went on top. They sounded like bullets.

He thought of the day he died and said, "Whoa, this feels familiar, the sounds and the look." He suddenly shook his head and said, "No, I shouldn’t think of that. I should help...."

Growl, growl.

"Huh?" He got surprised by the noise of different growling sounds.

He then stood up and looked at where the growls were coming from. He saw a big wolf that was around 1.5 meters tall when standing on its four feet.

(Its color was around pale white and stone gray, darker along its spine going to its tail and lighter around the chest and legs. Then around its neck, the fur was a bit longer and heavier, forming a rough mane that slightly moved when it took a breath. It also had some big claws that were useful in fighting.

The two creatures exchanged hits and big growls. Kai was left thunderstruck by just seeing the wolf versus the white bear.

He sneered and said, "A FANG, huh? Okay then, let’s deal with..." He was all ready to fight.

Kai was astonished by the look of the match. They fought like dogs while the Arctos was bigger.

When the Fang was on its two feet trying to get the arctos’ neck, the arctos used its right front foot and slapped the Fang to the ground, leaving 3 claw marks from the head to the neck.

It was slapped with so much force that it went flying back for a distance of 2 meters, then it rolled over and hit a rock that was behind it.

The Arctos ran to it before it regained more strength. It then went for its neck and clenched it tight. The wolf released no noise, not even a whimper, while the Arctos pinned the Fang down with its two feet.
