The atmosphere got more fierce, giving Kai chills down his spine. Hisses echoed in the room, causing Kai’s eyes to race, searching for the right spot where the hisses came from.

He looked at the left side and turned to the left; his hands were clenched, ready for war. His mind raced as he silently asked himself, ’Huh, what’s going on? Where’s that noise maker?’ He continued to look around as if his head was going to break.

His heart raced until he looked a bit up. That time, his heart skipped, his eyes widened, and he gulped out of fear.

A big creature that likes to attack from the top, a serpent. It saw a big stash of food on the ground, seeing Kai. It thought of finishing him off with one swoop.

Bad luck for it, it was spotted before it finished the attack.

The serpent had its spot for surprise attacks since the place was free from the outside cold. So a lot of animals made their way inside to enjoy the cool heat, and that made that day its last day since it will be attacked out of the blue.

Its spot was more of a cave at the top, a rooftop; that’s where it was hiding from Kai. It only made its hissing sound and got ready to attack. It glared at Kai with its intimidating orange eyes. It was a long serpent of about 10 meters long, and its color was scary and intimidating.

It had brownish-black lines and a few yellowish spots that supported the brown color to be a bit lighter in some places. Then it’s stomach or underneath; it was whitish, a bit yellowish.

When it saw that Kai was a new type of food that it last ate ages ago, it got ready to tackle it. It knew every human’s weak points, and it also knew how to defeat them in a single surprise attack.

The time when it started hissing, it had its stabbing tongue outside. It started to coil around the end of its cave and got ready to attack.

When it continued to hiss, it wanted to see whether he was ready or his guard was down. It started to confuse him since he couldn’t pinpoint where the hissing sound came from.

Suddenly, it jumped down while coiled, and it stretched up a bit, leaving a space in the middle like a drum. It aims to put Kai in the middle and squash him tightly. That time, Kai felt the upcoming motion and danger from the top; he looked up.

When he looked up, he saw a black thing falling to him; it was like a wheel, and that was unexpected. He suddenly took out his weapon that was on his waist. When it got near him, he realized that it was a serpent. He jumped backwards and gave it two greeting hits on its stomach.

He flew and landed away from the serpent. He was around 5 meters away from it while his heart raced and he hardly breathed. It landed and felt a lot of pain on its body as it got cut twice. It glared at Kai as it bent its head towards him, then its tongue got out and vibrated outside.

Kai frowned angrily, with his eyebrows furrowed. He said, "Tsk, a snake, what a horrific day!" The look on his face hinted that he wasn’t a fan of snakes. Then the screen popped up.

Kai realized its speed and suddenly gritted his eyes as he got ready for defense. He silently said, "Damn, it’s fast. I don’t think I can keep up with it!"

He watched it jumping towards his face with a scary eye. His face was blazing with rage; fear started to fade away as he got more serious. Suddenly, he dodged to the left as he rotated; when he saw it passing, he charged to its tail, and his knuckle blade stuck on its skin.

With a lot of pain from its right side, it stopped and turned around to follow Kai behind.

"Dammit, it’s now on my tail. What now!" He shouted as he ran towards the other wall across the place.

It charged again towards him, and then he jumped up, spinning to the back. It didn’t aim to see him jumping up; it thought that maybe he was going to run or repeat his skill, but he changed his style. It jumped to his neck before he jumped, then astonishment settled as it watched him going up while it went down and missed him. It went and landed on the ground with its body that leaked a lot of blood from the third cut.

Kai went down and landed next to the dead wolf that was lying in the middle of the place.

The Viper started to shrink itself as it coiled and glared at Kai. It realized that he was a hard opponent, and that forced it to use its powers.

Suddenly, the place got a little purple-like, especially around the serpent. It then glared at Kai fiercely.

Kai’s eyes narrowed as he checked each side. He then asked, "HUH, what is it up to?"

Small pieces started to float in the air.
