Soul World Of Strong Souls-Chapter 78: THE GREEN DEMON

The wolf continued to growl angrily with its sharp teeth visible in its mouth. Kai and Sophia softly stepped on the ground and made sure that they were not heard, and they were also whispering, better for a close and secret conversation.

Kai glared at the wolf while he wanted to call it. He then came across the idea of an easy communication system. He then said, ’Wait a second, there was a telepathy thing; how can I use it for communication?. There’s no time to explore the system; I guess I should just speak up’ he thought while he took in a deep breath with his eyes gently closed.

He then stopped moving when he was around a couple of meters away from the wolf. He sharply glared at it and said,

"Hey Wolfy, I’ll take it from here; it’s time to get in the pocket!" He smoothly and loudly said that the growling and noisy wolf heard him.

Sophia, who was next to him, whispered in his ears since she was close. "Pocket?" she asked, her brows furrowed as she got them closer together.

Kai looked at her with a simple and friendly eye while he responded, saying, "Yes, it’s a hideout...," he loudly said instead of whispering. Sophia then cut him off, saying, "Shhh!" with her right hand index finger.

Kai didn’t care about that. He only paused when she said "shh," but after that, he continued his sentence, saying, "...." It’s called the Shadow Hideout. It is made for tamed beasts; I can keep them in there, so yes, it’s lovely. I can fight while I have them in protection, if I don’t want them to fight."

"Do you hear...?" she asked but realized that Kai was concentrated on something else. Before she finished her sentence, Kai loudly said,

"Wolfy, now!" he said, and the wolf did the same, leaving an axe that sliced the air where it was.

The wolf dodged a fatal hit that was aimed at it, and the axe hit the wall that was right at the corner. The dust coiled and covered the place but never hid Kai or the road, only the wall.

"Wow, you escaped by the skin of your teeth!" Sophia praised, her eyes filled with mischief, her face curled with a smile.

When Kai called the wolf, it ran to him and went straight to his shadow.

The wolf got swallowed by Kai’s shadow, and it was nowhere to be found. Kai suddenly jumped to the light, and he met up with a green monster that threw the axe at the wolf.

Kai’s left eyebrow quirked, and he said, "Wait, I know you!" while his face hinted at confusion. His eyes were glued to its round, scary face, and he was all ready to attack. He had his right hand clenching the knuckle knife, and before a second, another one appeared on his left hand.

’I’m sure this one will come in handy,’ he thought while he nicely held the knife. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞

WEAK POINT—behind the neck. A sword stab can kill it, and then a boulder hit can drain its strength.

The screen words got Kai to remember its identity. He then said, "Exactly, now I can deal with you easily, and yeah, your axe is right behind me, so.... Let’s play." He said so as he widely grinned like a Cheshire cat while his eyes narrowed, showing arrogance.

Sophia, who was listening and watching Kai, got astonished by his words and actions. It felt and seemed as if it was no longer Kai; he was totally different. In her mind, she asked herself, ’Wait, is he for real?’

Kai sneered and swiftly charged towards the demon. He was glaring at its face while he gritted his teeth as he sneered.

The demon stretched its right hand while it got ready for Kai’s attack.

The system didn’t explain; it only told him to be alert. He widened his eyes while he was speeding. His heart thudded twice as he felt as if he was in slow motion, but his heart’s thud wasn’t slow.

He quickly asked himself, ’What was that? And my heart?’ His eyes were widened, and his brows were quirked aside in astonishment and fear.

He scanned the enemy twice from head to toe while on the road to it. He noticed that the demon’s hand was stretched forward, towards him.

Chills lowered down his spine as fear coiled on his body.

On the other side, Sophia had her eyes widened as she saw the axe moving from the ground. Her mind raced and raised a lot of questions.

’Wait, how is that axe moving?’ She asked herself one of the questions that filled her mind. The axe was, like, coated with a purplish shadow. It wasn’t too much; it was barely seen, but it was there, and it gave Sophia some chills.

The axe was more of an ordinary axe, but it had a hammerhead behind it. It had a metal handle, and it was big, hinting at heaviness from just laying eyes on it.

She relayed another question, saying, "I wonder if Kai is aware?" Her heart was racing, only big thuds; it was as if it was going to open its way out of her body.

On Kai’s side while he was running:

Kai felt the motion of something coming right behind him. His fast reflexes saved him. He swiftly stopped and kneeled down with his left knee, then his right one was pointing upwards.

The axe swiftly crossed where his head was, blowing his black hair as it passed. It went straight to the stretched hand, and with a lot of power, the demon widened its eyes in fear but managed to catch it. It was pushed behind for more than a meter. Its body weight and the foot grip helped it to stay in place.

It suddenly put down its weapon, and there was a big boom sound, creating dust all over the place, hiding the demon, and leaving Kai astonished and confused but mostly ready to strike.
