Chapter 177: Yin and Yang
"I think I was talking about Yin and Yang’s history before you started fighting. I do not think I managed to finish my explanation of how they came into my employ." Lord Hoodwink decided to talk while the ladies fought in the other room.
Nina and Yang were flashing in and out existence as they moved quickly. Vana could barely make out Yang’s speed. But for some reason it just looked like Nina was teleporting or something. Their blades constantly clash in loud metal on metal noises. While Vana was dodging and countering Yin’s own sword. She was constantly being pushed back by the attacks.
It was getting more and more difficult for her to counter the attacks from whatever mutant version this bodyguard was. Fortunately her armor’s personal shields were able to block the attacks. The green hexagonal pattern kept appearing repeatedly when the sword almost made contact with her borrowed armor.
Until eventually Yin let down her guard and over extended a strike. Vana was able to get close and slash at her chest. But instead of cutting her chest open, Yin was pulled back by a white armored hand.
Yang had jumped over to pull her sister back at the very last minute. Leaving only a light scratch across Yin’s chest plate. While Nina followed up by attacking at Yang’s neck with one of her knives. Only for Yin to block it with her own sword, using the flat end to stop the attack.
"Yin and Yang were only about nine when I found them in a precarious situation. They were dying because of the pollution and various other diseases that came with the bad food that they were eating. Even the air was causing problems because of the poison that was being spit up into the air." Hoodwink began explaining as their combat continued.
Vana’s claws clashed against Yin’s sword in a flurry of sparks. Vana was keeping her body lower to the ground so she could dodge away more quickly.
"So I took the twins and the other survivors from the village in. They were not the only ones either. I have been bringing in people that are down on their luck for years. I started conducting some of my first experiments back then. All of my efforts were to make sure they would survive. Eventually I decided I had to replace their organs and other failing body parts entirely. So that is what I did."
Nina and Yang clashed on the other side, their weapons brushed up against the wall where a number of consoles and screens were located. The result was a bunch of screens and consoles being cut into pieces. Electricity sparking and making popping noises.
"When they were ten the only original body parts they had left were their brain, heart, and a few other parts that would inhibit growth if I did not remove them. Of course back then I did not have as many developments to work with. But fortunately for the twins they had the nano system. So they persevered."
Yin managed to push back Vana, slicing through several of the claws in her retractable claws. But Vana countered by kicking Yin in one of her legs, pushing her back. Giving Vana enough time to get back and reposition herself for her next attack. fгee𝑤ebɳoveɭ.cøm
"Apparently their father was from the Oda Empire. He passed on the nano system. Anyways, that was what drew me to the nano system. Especially since it was so great, yet it was not inhabiting every human. For some reason, it only inhabited people from the Grand Hexarian region. So I did my research."
Yang was getting pushed back by the attacks from Nina. Each one was chipping away at her sword. Nina’s armor was loudly creaking every once in a while as she moved.
"At the same time I steadily advanced my technology for cybernetics and body replacement and enhancement parts. I also pushed my understanding of biomechanics to the limits. Eventually I finished my research, at the same time as I suddenly caught the attention of the Vexical Empire’s new military intelligence branch. I believe you call yourselves the Military Intelligence and Logistics Division."
Vana was pushed back and used her position near the corpse of the whip woman to kick the woman’s severed leg at Yin. Yin moved out of the way and it got fried against the electrified glass wall.
"By that point, Yin and Yang had grown up to not only be my finest creations. But they were also family. In fact I consider them as my own daughters. Daughters, who despite my insistence, decided to stay around and protect me." Hoodwink explained before he rolled back to the center of the room.
There was a loud clashing of metal followed by a shattering by metal. Yang’s sword was shattered into pieces while one of Nina’s knives was shattered as well. Only leaving behind the hilts of the weapons.
"They were not the only ones I consider family but they are the last two left. Unfortunately the rest of them are dead. Did you break Yang’s sword again?" Hoodwink asked just as Yin was able to get the upper hand on Vana. Vana grabbed the sword with her claws as she was forced into a kneeling position. While Yang was able to leap away from Nina just in time.
"Well this is a fortunate turn of events." Hoodwink chuckled while Nina grumbled under her breath. Vana struggled against Yin.
Yin stared down Nina as Yang moved away from Nina. Vana’s armor’s shields were still triggering but she was in a disadvantageous position. Nina on the other hand was looking over her own knives. She tossed the destroyed one to the side while she brandished her other knife and put her other hand on her sidearm. Ready to draw it at a moment’s notice.
Hoodwink cackled evilly as he waved at Yin and Yang giving them a discrete order with a hand motion. "Surrender and-"
