Chapter 940: Star Relay!

In the past, Shang Xia learned a little about the Land of Star Origin from Huang Yu. However, Huang Yu wasn’t someone who hailed from the Star Origin City anyway and was also a Star Origin Guard.

With Luo Qi leading the way again, the 2 of them made their way over to the Star Relay.

Because it was Shang Xia’s first time in the Land of Star Origin, neither of them tried using any movement arts. They strolled along the street with everyone else as Shang Xia admired the sights.

With a local like Luo Qi leading the way, Shang Xia quickly learned a lot about the city.

Shang Xia learned that not only did many experts leave behind their coordinates in the Star Relay to many different worlds, but there were 2 ‘Superior Worlds’ that seemed to outrank Spirit Worlds. He didn’t stop inquiring about them. “What is the actual term for those Superior Worlds?”

Luo Qi hesitated for some time as he tried to think about them. Eventually, he shook his head and sighed, “Apologies... I don’t remember.”

“You don’t remember? What do you mean? Does it have something to do with your resignation from the Star Origin Guards?” Shang Xia gasped.

Luo Qi shook his head and sighed, “I... I don’t think so. Their worlds seem to be able to shield themselves and hide from the memories of lower-leveled cultivators...”

“Lower-leveled cultivators?!” Shang Xia gasped. He stared at Luo Qi in shock. The other party’s fate dippers might be in a mess and might not even be comparable to a strong Martial Extermination Realm expert, but no matter what, his cultivation was at the Martial Dipper Realm. However he looked at it, a Martial Dipper Realm expert shouldn’t be considered a ‘lower-leveled cultivator’, right?!

Luo Qi noticed the look in Shang Xia’s eyes and he could guess what he was thinking. He couldn’t help but force a smile. “Perhaps in the eyes of those from the ‘Superior World’, our cultivations are truly nothing out of the ordinary...”

“How can ordinary cultivators from those ‘Superior Worlds’ recall their world then?” Shang Xia mumbled to himself. He was feeling a vague threat from the discovery of a world even stronger than their Spirit World, and he didn’t really expect Luo Qi to know the answer either.

Luo Qi seemed to have thought of something and he quickly added, “Oh right, Ancestors in the Martial Void Realm should be able to learn the names of those worlds... Their memories wouldn’t be affected either. I heard this from my Captain back then...”

Shang Xia raised a single eyebrow. Luo Qi was actually quite reliable from their interactions.

Whatever it was, they arrived at the Star Relay after walking for some time. The Star Relay was a massive region and when they arrived, they could detect a formless barrier above them. From the time they stepped foot in the Star Relay, Shang Xia already felt no less than 3 powerful auras sweeping over him.

Luo Qi explained, “As the Star Relay is connected to multiple worlds and lots of coordinates in the void, spatial fluctuations here are really common. No matter how confident they were in the stability of their grand formation and strength, the Star Origin City had to take precautions. The Star Relay is located in a special region and the defenses were extremely strict. Everyone who enters or leaves will be subjected to checks to ensure they won’t pose a threat to the Spatial Formation in the Star Relay. I can also tell you that other than ordinary checks, the Star Origin Guards will do their own probes. Because the methods of the Star Origin Guards are pretty special, Martial Dipper Realm experts might not be able to detect it... Young Master Shang, please don’t be offended by it.”

Shang Xia nodded in response. However, his expression seemed a little weird. According to what Luo Qi said, there should be 2 different powers inspecting him. However, he clearly felt 3 different probes!

Shang Xia didn’t know if it was because the 2 of them were receiving special attention or if there was a hidden third party Luo Qi didn’t know about around the Star Relay. However, he felt that no matter what it was, it wasn’t time to tell Luo Qi anything.

“The Star Relay is guarded by 3 squads of Star Origin Guards all year round and those who are in charge of protection of the Star Relay are extremely strong. The minimum cultivation of the Star Origin Guards in charge of protecting the Star Relay is at the Martial Dipper Realm. One of the squads here will definitely possess a Martial Void Realm expert as their captain...” As Luo Qi was speaking, a trace of envy flashed in his eyes.

Originally, he had a chance to enter the squad responsible for protecting the Star Relay. However, his fate dipper messed it all up and he couldn’t even maintain his position in the Star Origin Guards.

With a thought surfacing in his mind, Shang Xia asked, “Would that mean that the Martial Void Realm expert here is one of the 3 strongest Camp Commanders?”

Luo Qi’s mouth opened slightly and he didn’t know how to respond for a moment. He coughed softly, “My introduction wasn’t the best... There might be 3 Martial Void Realm experts among the 7 Camp Commanders, but that doesn’t mean that every Martial Void Realm expert in the Star Origin Guards is willing to take on the role of the Camp Commander. Even though the Camp Commanders of the third, fifth, sixth, and seventh camps aren’t Martial Void Realm True Immortals, it’s said that there are 2 more Martial Void Realm experts in the first and second camps respectively and they chose to take on the role of captains. They rejected the roles because they said it would delay their cultivation...”

“That would mean that there are at least 5 Martial Void Realm experts in the Star Origin Guards.” Shang Xia nodded to himself. Once again, his understanding of them grew a little deeper.

“That’s the current situation...” Luo Qi explained.

The next moment, an ordinarily dressed woman appeared in front of them before sweeping her gaze across Luo Qi. She seemed to recognize his past identity but her attention quickly turned to Shang Xia. “Young Master, is there something you would like to do here?”

Shang Xia turned to look at Luo Qi for a moment and chuckled, “I’m here to look for someone!”

Even though she looked pretty ‘ordinary’, she was still an expert in the Martial Extermination Realm. A look of realization formed on her face. “There have been several people who gathered at the Star Relay earlier in the day. They seem to be waiting for someone. Young Master, are you the one they are waiting for? Oh... I wonder how I should address you?”

“Won’t we know if I’m the one they’re waiting for if we head over?” Shang Xia grinned. “You can call me Shang Xia. Young lady, how should I...”

A chuckle left her lips. “You can call me Lin Li. Young Master Shang, please follow me!”

After she spoke, she turned around to lead the way. Shang Xia shot Luo Qi a look to tell him to keep up.

Running behind him, Luo Qi asked in a low voice, “Young Master, do you already have an appointment?”

Luo Qi was feeling slightly anxious at the moment. If Shang Xia really had an appointment with someone in the Star Relay, the person he was meeting up with might have a good understanding of the city. When that happens, he would no longer be needed as a guide!

The main reason Luo Qi chose to act as a guide was to look for a way to restore his cultivation to a normal state and return to the Star Origin Guards. However, that wasn’t all. As a high-level cultivator, he needed tons of cultivation resources. Even if he couldn’t grow stronger, he needed to ensure his cultivation didn’t regress. If he was able to obtain enough cultivation resources in the city, he wouldn’t have to lower himself and act as a guide for newcomers to the Land of Star Origin!

Shang Xia understood his worries and he laughed with amusement, “Relax. We chose to meet in the Star Relay because of orders from our respective seniors. We’ll go our separate ways after meeting up. I will still need to be my guide in the city.”

Luo Qi heaved a sigh of relief after hearing what Shang Xia said. However, he couldn’t help but become a little curious. Young Master Shang clearly has a Martial Void Realm True Immortal supporting him, and the person he is meeting will probably be comparable in status... Why would their respective Martial Void Realm Ancestors require them to meet in the Star Relay?

The Star Relay was a transit point for the various worlds and the reason the Star Origin City could control such a region wasn’t just because they were conveniently located. Instead, it was because of their terrifying strength!

Even with their power, Star Origin City would never look down on any Martial Void Realm True Immortal. Regardless of their cultivation level, combat abilities, and where they come from, Star Origin City would always treat them with a certain level of respect and caution.

Even though Shang Xia was merely meeting someone, Luo Qi could tell that he had a certain task to complete.

If a single Martial Void Realm Ancestor could cause the city to act a little cautiously, what would happen if several Martial Void Realm Ancestors joined hands?

Luo Qi’s first reaction was to notify the Martial Void Realm True Immortal from the Star Origin Guards. However, he quickly recalled that he was no longer a part of them and he probably didn’t have the qualification to meet even the most ordinary of Star Origin Guards. There was also a need to mention that he was Shang Xia’s guide at the moment and he couldn’t leave whenever he wished.

Luo Qi’s gaze lingered on Lin Li who was leading the way. She might not be a Star Origin Guard, but she had worked in the Star Relay for some time. He wondered if she knew about the implication behind Shang Xia’s meeting with others.

When Luo Qi's thoughts were running wild, Lin Li led everyone to a majestic-looking ring-shaped hall that was made with massive stone pillars.

Turning her body slightly, Lin Li chuckled, “Young Master Shang, those fellow cultivators are in there. You can go ahead and see if they’re the ones you’re looking for.”

Shang Xia wasn’t in a rush to enter the hall. Instead, he chuckled and asked her another question. “Young Lady Lin, aren’t you going to follow me into the hall?”

Lin Li shook her head in response. “My apologies. The Void Hall is a place where only Martial Dipper Realm experts have the qualifications to enter.”

“Oh.” Shang Xia grunted once before asking yet another question. “From my observation, there should be 3 other halls like the one before us. Could these Void Halls be places where cultivators use to send themselves off to various points in space?”

“Young Master Shang, you are sharp indeed. Other than one of the Void Halls that was created by one of the Superior Worlds, the others can be used by anyone. However, anyone who passes through the entrance of a hall has to be in the Martial Dipper Realm. If a Martial Extermination Realm cultivator wishes to enter, they would have to use talismans or protective treasures. Of course, they can also enter with the protection of a Martial Dipper Realm expert. Only then will they be able to be transported through the void. Cultivators under the Martial Intent Realm will never be able to withstand the chaotic space when traveling through the void and even with higher-leveled experts protecting them, they will still be unable to complete the journey.” Lin Li might have noticed it was Shang Xia’s first time in Star Origin City and also had Luo Qi to act as his guide, but she still gave him the best explanation she could.

“Many thanks, Young Lady Lin!” Shang Xia bowed slightly before walking into the Void Hall.

In the distance, Shang Xia saw 4 familiar-looking faces as they seemed to be chatting about something. From the looks of it, they were pretty cordial with each other.

Actually, when Shang Xia entered the hall, all 4 of them noticed his presence and turned to look at him in unison.

A smile appeared on Shang Xia’s face and he quickly gave his greetings. “Senior Lu Wuzi, Senior Yifeng, Senior Jiu Du, Senior Huang Jinghan... Have you been well?”
