-Ding!
[(1) Find the perpetrator of this incident and, after defeating them, forgive them as they didn’t mean it.
(Reward: God-Level Doormat)]
[(2) Who cares about the perpetrator? Just clean up the house, as it reeks of blood. Anyway, your sister is already an adult, so she should be fine.
(Reward: God-Level Cleaner)]
[(3) Clean up the blood and throw a party! Your sister is blind anyway, and her disappearance means one less mouth to feed.
(Reward: S-rank Class Rank Upgrade Crystal)]
[(4) Find the perpetrator, and whoever is behind or involved in it, kill them. Just in case, slaughter their families as well so that no one will avenge them. Since they dared to kidnap and harm your family, they should have already expected reaping what they had sown.
(Reward: SSS-rank Class Rank Upgrade Crystal)]
[(5) Almost the same as Choice 4, but with the added requirement of killing those enemies you can kill, such as Caspian Alaric Sterling and his family. Anyway, since you are going on a killing spree, might as well exterminate all those cockroaches so that you’ll be free from pests.
(Reward: Null-rank Skill Grade Synchronizer)]
[(6) Choose none of the given options and choose your own path.
(Reward: None)]
Faced with those choice options and the world being in stopped time due to his system, Ainsworth regained his composure as he sighed, "To think this incident will warrant a choice event."
To say Ainsworth was worried about his sister’s disappearance was an understatement.
Kyla was his only remaining family!
So when Ainsworth saw Choice 2 and Choice 3, especially Choice 3, he immediately felt disgusted from the bottom of his heart.
As for Choice 1, Ainsworth didn’t even pay attention to it and immediately ignored it.
He, Ainsworth, wasn’t a doormat!
How could he accept a bunch of strangers barging into his house and splashing blood everywhere?!
If he didn’t kill them to vent his frustration and anger for such an unwarranted provocation, then those people would believe he’s an easy target.
"It fucking seems that while I am already a Five-Star SSS-rank Awakener, my fame and notoriety haven’t spread yet, or else how could someone offend me?" 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺
"This happened while I was busy counterinvading the damn Monster World and Demon World. These cowards didn’t even deal with the Otherworld Invaders and Dimensional Gates, yet went as far as ruining a noble SSS-rank Awakener’s home while he’s on duty?"
"No matter what, crimson blood must bloom today! They dared harm Kyla; they found a way to die!"
Infuriated by these damn lowlifes’ transgression, Ainsworth didn’t hesitate to choose Choice 5.
He didn’t even bother inquiring about the skill description of the Null-rank Skill Grade Synchronizer.
Since it had already come to this, he no longer cared about what choice reward he would receive, as no one, not even the God-Level Choice System, could prevent him from choosing to massacre those perpetrators who dared harm his sister!
As his only family member, Kyla was his reverse scale! Even Elyndra couldn’t compare to her, as while he had a crush on Elyndra, it was merely a crush.
Since Elyndra wasn’t even his wife, let alone his girlfriend, she’s not part of his family.
Unlike Elyndra, Kyla is his family. And as they say, no bond is stronger than family!
After Ainsworth had received the Choice 5 reward, time had resumed, and he immediately used the choice reward in case he ever needed it.
And when he did, he immediately felt himself become stronger. Although his power level didn’t improve, he realized that Skill Grade Synchronizer was Null-rank because such a skill couldn’t be ranked as it scaled with his power level.
[Special Skill: Skill Grade Synchronizer
Skill Rank: Null
Skill Abilities:
(1) All of your skills’ skill grade will synchronize with your power level. This won’t affect those skills that are already above your power level, as those skills won’t forcibly be lowered to scale with your power level.]
As soon as he checked the skill description of Skill Grade Synchronizer (Null), Ainsworth realized just how right his decision was.
He still remembered how most of his skills no longer became relevant due to how they couldn’t keep up with his fast growth.
With the Skill Grade Synchronizer, he no longer has to worry about that, as all of his skills that were lower in grade compared to his power level will be raised to a skill grade corresponding to his power level.
’It’s indeed powerful and very useful and convenient. However, even if it was the choice reward for Choice 3 than Choice 5, I’d rather not get it than abandon Kyla.’
While that thought popped up in his mind, Ainsworth immediately got to work. He used Ultimate Freedom and Freedom of Speech as he declared, "The house is clean and free of blood and any impurities."
In an instant, all the blood that had been splattered in the house’s interior disappeared.
Afterward, Ainsworth immediately disappeared, making use of his Freedom of Movement (SSS) skill to teleport to the location written on the note that was left behind by the perpetrators in his house.
...
Outside the abandoned warehouse built in a secluded forest, Ainsworth appeared.
Standing above the sky, with Unremarkable Presence (SSS) activated as well as his God-Level Assassin talent, he scouted the area.
Even if he was the undisputed second strongest on Earth and was invincible below those X-rank Demon Gods, Ainsworth still reigned in his arrogance and pride, so he didn’t become overconfident.
Even if he was furious to the point of wanting to summon his kitchen knives and flay the skin of those perpetrators, he still didn’t let anger and overconfidence cloud his judgment.
Retaining his composure, Ainsworth coldly looked at the abandoned warehouse from above as he started formulating his plan.
In the end, Ainsworth ultimately decided not to take action and recklessly enter the abandoned warehouse. Who knew if they had secretly planted traps inside the abandoned warehouse, just waiting for him to enter and trigger them?
With that in mind, Ainsworth decisively created a kitchen knife and made a deep cut on his wrist.
As the kitchen knife sliced the flesh on his wrist, severing his blood vessel, crimson blood spurted out from it as Ainsworth indifferently used his Blood Manipulation superpower to keep on releasing his blood while replenishing it.
Splattering litters of blood in the sky, before they fell towards the ground, each several drops of blood merged and then transformed into a Blood Puppet whose body outline was similar to Ainsworth but didn’t have any defined features.
After creating Blood Puppets using his Blood Manipulation and Blood Puppet superpowers, Ainsworth used other superpowers he had stored in his internal archive to strengthen the Blood Puppets to the point their power was now comparable to a One-Star SSS-rank Awakener.
Due to his ruthless and decisive bloodletting, there were thousands of Blood Puppets already formed, standing above the sky with him.
Even the original Evolver, who possessed these superpowers, couldn’t control this many Blood Puppets as each Blood Puppets were a hollow vessels of power and viral energy. They didn’t possess sentience, so the creator had to control them manually.
But for Ainsworth, that wasn’t a problem, as his parallel thought processing and computation prowess were greater than a supercomputer’s. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have learned all of humanity’s knowledge and skills in the Zombie Apocalypse World in just several months, even before he became an S-rank Awakener.
’With these blood puppets, even if they only have the power of a One-Star SSS-rank Awakener, their sheer number alone could drown a Five-Star SSS-rank Awakener with their blood attacks to death.’
’The only exception would be those Awakeners with unusual rule-based skills, but I highly doubt an SSS-rank Awakener backed the perpetrators behind my sister’s disappearance.’
Having such thoughts, Ainsworth flew even higher as he increased his altitude to avoid getting into his enemy’s range.
Even if Ainsworth didn’t believe an SSS-rank Awakener was inside the abandoned house, he still didn’t underestimate those perpetrators and gave them the same treatment as when he went up against SSS-rank Awakeners.
Under his control, a thousand Blood Puppets swarmed toward the abandoned warehouse. Hundreds dismantled it like a colony of termites while the rest pressed on with their entry.
The senses of sight and hearing from those Blood Puppets were relayed to Ainsworth, so when they entered the warehouse, he immediately saw the perpetrators.
They wore clothing that obscured their appearances, but such concealment posed no hindrance to Ainsworth or the Blood Puppets’ perception.
Looking at them, Ainsworth knew he had never met them, and their appearances were unremarkable. To the average Awakener, however, their strength was formidable, for they consisted of ten A-rank Awakeners led by an S-rank Awakener.
Yet when he saw them, he did not care about their power. Although he had not met them before, he immediately recognized who they were.
’Aren’t they the assassin team hired by Caspian to deal with me? Did they take drastic measures after noticing that I haven’t returned to my home, so they went to assassinate me there, but since I wasn’t at home, they kidnapped and took my sister as a hostage instead?’
While thinking of that, he shifted his attention to the beautiful girl tied up to a chair by the assassin team and surrounded by them.
Her long, silky black hair and the white cloth blindfold covering her eyes didn’t seem to hide her charm, yet it added a sense of mystery to her.
However, when looking at her, Ainsworth felt something was amiss.
