Chapter 11 - Another World (II)
"Hah... Hah...!"
A girl was desperately running through the forest. However, the pale white dress she wore, which anyone would consider high-quality, was not suitable for running.
Not only that, but her beautiful blonde hair, which seemed to be woven from sunlight, had become dirty as she ran and had lost its shine.
Several people, their faces hidden beneath hoods, were chasing after her.
"Kuh..."
The girl was running barefoot through the forest, struggling with each step.
"Ah!?"
However, she tripped over a tree root due to her dress being unfit for running and the forest terrain. The mysterious group wasted no time and immediately surrounded her. Realizing there was no way to escape, the girl sharpened her jade-green eyes and glared at them.
"You! Do you even know who you're chasing? I am the first princess of the Kingdom of Alceria!"
The mysterious group exchanged glances at the girl's defiant attitude before sneering.
"Ahahaha! We know exactly who you are, Lexia Von Alceria."
"Then why—?"
"Why, you ask? What a ridiculous question. As for the reason we're attacking you... shall I make you remember with your own body?"

"T-that's..."
The girl—Lexia—was left speechless at the attacker's words.
"You're an obstacle, you know. Filthy half-blood!"
"My blood is not filthy..."
"Don't answer back!"
"Kyaaa!"
One of the hooded figures conjured a mass of earth with magic and fired it at Lexia, who was undeniably beautiful. She instantly rolled on the ground, but their magic power was apparently strong, and the impact caused more damage than she had expected.
"U-uhh..."
"Stop wasting time. It'd be better if you just died quietly from the start..."
"Your escort was pathetic, wasn't he? As a result of trying to protect you, they ended up being attacked by us."
"They were desperate to let you escape, but those knights must be dead by now, right?"
The mysterious group hurled cruel words at Lexia as she crouched in pain. She was the first princess, but she was the child of the current king and a concubine—a slave. More than that, her mother was not even human. She was a High Elf, a race known for their exceptional beauty even among elves. The king had fallen in love at first sight with a High Elf slave and took her as his concubine, and before long, Lexia was born.
However, shortly after giving birth to Lexia, her mother passed away. The king was deeply saddened and raised Lexia with great care and affection. But then, one day, an incident occurred.
High Elves were naturally gifted in magic, and Lexia, even as a half-human, inherited both their beauty and magical talent. One day, however, her magic went out of control. As a result, the first prince, who had been nearby, was seriously injured.
Fortunately, he suffered no lasting effects and made a full recovery, but... Lexia became an outcast, shunned by the queen—the mother of the first prince—and the nobles aligned with his faction. Because of her lineage, she became the target of various forms of harassment behind the king's back.
"U... Uhh..."
Lexia was grateful to her mother for giving birth to her and did not resent her father. However, those around her had relentlessly persecuted her. Even though she was of the royal family, under certain circumstances, she could become a disgrace.
Lexia had struggled desperately against such an inescapable reality, but now, on the verge of death, she looked back on her life, and tears involuntarily began to fall.
If she had lived a more normal life... Yes, she had thought about it.
"Now then, it would be foolish to waste time on idle chatter and get attacked by monsters. Hurry up and die already."
Lexia could only sob, choking on her own voice in this miserable and powerless situation. One of the men from the mysterious group was about to unleash his magic mercilessly at her—when it happened.
"Guuooooooooooo!"
"What!? A Goblin General!?"
Suddenly, a monster attacked the mysterious group.
It had dark brown skin and golden, reptilian-like eyes. Its bulging muscles and towering height rivaled that of a grown man, and it wore high-quality armor that radiated an intimidating aura. Hot breath flared from its large, hooked nose, and then, with a roar, it swung its massive sword—one as tall as itself.
The sheer force of the swing was overwhelming. The mysterious group, who had been preparing to unleash their magic against the Goblin General, were instantly reduced to a pile of flesh beneath its gigantic blade.
The air was filled with miserable screams.
Those who had been moments away from killing Lexia had been slaughtered in an instant. The realization sent a wave of fear through her, and she desperately tried to flee, but her legs had no strength left.
Unable to move, she watched as the Goblin General effortlessly wiped out the mysterious group with its overwhelming power. Blood and chunks of flesh were scattered everywhere, and the massive goblin stood there, drenched in crimson.
—It was an undeniable, absolute force.
Faced with such a being, Lexia's body had already given up on living, regardless of her will. No matter how much she wanted to escape, her body simply would not respond.
After the massacre was over, the Goblin General turned its sharp gaze toward Lexia, who was paralyzed in terror and despair. Under the weight of its piercing stare, even her last shred of will to live crumbled.
"Ah..."
The Goblin General calmly approached the stunned Lexia.
And when it stood before her—
It raised its massive sword high into the air.
With a deafening roar, the Goblin General prepared to strike.
-
She was going to die here, without any suffering. With hazy thoughts of death, she gazed at the sword that had just massacred the mysterious group.
"Daaaaaaaaaaaaaa!"
"Gugyaa!?"
Suddenly, something flew toward the Goblin General. However, just before the projectile could hit, the Goblin General sensed it and blocked it with the massive sword it had been swinging.
But that wasn't the only attack.
More impacts struck the giant sword that had just blocked the projectile. The force was immense, and even with its powerful body, the Goblin General couldn't withstand it—it was sent flying backward.
Regaining its stance, the Goblin General turned its furious gaze toward the new intruder.
With a furious roar, the Goblin General bellowed.
Lexia followed its line of sight—
"Are you alright?"
She saw an elegant young man rushing toward her.
His glossy black hair and deep eyes, reminiscent of the night sky, carried an air of foreign mystery.
Despite the desperate situation, for some reason, the moment Lexia saw the young man, she felt a little relieved.
That sense of safety caused the last thread of tension to snap—
And she fainted on the spot.
