Strange Worlds-Chapter 400: The Aftermath
Chapter 400: The Aftermath
Patrick looked at Silas with a frown. "Given by how tense the three cities’ relationship is, I can’t think of them letting anyone reach rank 7."
"She advanced secretly," Silas replied.
Perhaps, just like him advancing secretly by going to Central Magic City, Aya also found some ways to secretly advance to rank 7. He didn’t know for sure what Aya did, but she succeeded and became the youngest rank 7 in the history of the three cities.
"Is it...?" Patrick looked at Silas and then frowned. "What do you want to know about Wansu City?"
"Everything."
Everything?
Patrick furrowed his eyebrows and then sighed. "Well, Wansu City was built 90 years ago when there’s only Yansu City in this area. Various families are upset because of Yansu City’s dominance and wanted to get more resources for their practice. You might not know much but it was said that other families who want to thrive had to submit to Yansu City or they would never be able to grow."
Patrick himself hadn’t existed when Wansu City was first built, but he knew more than Silas. After all, he was of Silas’s father’s generation and was actually already quite old.
"The first head is the one who lead the most wars against Yansu City and allowed Wansu City to thrive. Also, you might not know this, but the first head is from the Green Family. The family that’s known for their peace and healing ability ended up being the one to lead the most war."
Patrick shook his head.
To be honest, when he was young, he was full of doubts about this matter because he felt that it was outrageous. But it was the truth.
The Green Family yearned for peace the most.
Because their abilities were mostly of support, they hoped that they didn’t have to use their ability so much and hoped that the world would be peaceful.
"The second head came from the White Family, who’s the disciple of the first head," Patrick continued and then said, "He stayed on the position as the head of Wansu City for 20 years and led the city to become better... it was after his era that I and the other three geniuses were born."
The tragic four geniuses of Wansu City.
When Silas was young, his father had told him about this matter because one of them was his uncle. Though if Silas had to say, he didn’t understand much about it.
"The third head is the shortest one on the position of the head. He came from the Green Family and also the grandson of the first head," Patrick continued. "If I’m not wrong, he’s only in that position for three to four years and then marched to war, in which he passed away. His disciple, the current Fourth Head of the Wansu City came to power in the year 47."
Silas blinked his eyes.
It turned out that the Fourth Head of the Wansu City has been in the position of the head of Wansu City for 43 years....
It was quite a long time if he had to say.
"I was raised during this era," Patrick paused for a moment and then said, "In the beginning, the Fourth Head of the Wansu City led all of us to finish the third war against Yansu City and managed to defend Wansu City. It’s also because of this that other families are willing to accept the Fourth Head of the Wansu City even though he came from a small family."
"My father, your first grandfather to be exact, said that the city has been in turmoil and there’s no time to take care of so many things. The Fourth Head was willing to lead Wansu City and stop the war, so why should they nitpick him?"
Patrick hadn’t been born at that time, so he didn’t understand that the people in Wansu City were dissatisfied by the four big families’ dominance. They hoped that someone who was not from the four big families could became the head of Wansu City.
This was how the Fourth Head of the Wansu City came to power in the first place.
"After that came a long period of recuperation and when I grew up and had two younger cousins... your father and your uncle." Patrick shook his head.
"Wansu City was really peaceful during that era. Many of the powerful magic warriors have passed away in the war and no one could rival them. But as we grew up and started to show our talent, there are many people who are dissatisfied.
During this period of time, the Fourth Head of the Wansu City didn’t care too much about us and didn’t want to give any protection whatsoever. In his words, he said that the geniuses have to grow up by themselves and not rely on others so much."
Thinking about the past, Patrick shook his head slightly.
It was rare for the four big families to have geniuses at the same time and as one of them, Patrick was naturally very proud. He knew very well that when they grew up, the Fourth Head of the Wansu City would definitely not their match.
But it might be because they were too outstanding back then that they were targeted by others. After all, a tall trees would definitely attract winds.
In those years, Patrick learned very well that his arrogance would give him nothing.
No one cared for him and the only thing that he could do was to go back and leave.
Facing the powerful people who wanted their lives... Patrick had to say that a genius is nothing if they could not grow up in the end.
And it was precisely because they had no chance to grow up that they were unable to do anything for Wansu City and had to suffer.
Many years have passed but Patrick could still feel the regret he had during those years.
Because if they had been given more time, history might have changed.
