Chapter 1336: A Step Forms Yin and Yang, a Hand Stops the Age

“Get lost!”

Right before a group of people could hit them, Papersmith took a step forward and stomped the ground. The rainwater on the floor exploded and slammed into the people, bowling them over and rapidly aging them in the process.

“There is no need, Old Zhang!”

Ye Qing gestured for Papersmith to keep calm before looking at those people. “They’re all just pitiful souls... Fine. I guess I’ll help you out once.”

Ye Qing took a step forward and slowly lifted his arm. The rainwater beneath his feet split into two and took the form of two fishes. The two fishes then took to the sky and flew circles around each other.

As the fishes swam, the Rain of Aging began moving as well. It was as if the rain itself was dancing together with the fishes. It looked profound and mysterious, harmonious and natural.

Slowly, the two fishes began growing in size. They occupied the airspace of Void Stomach City and chased each other playfully, forming a gigantic taichi diagram as big as the sky itself.

Yin and yang complemented each other to create infinite wonders. The Rain of Aging was fully absorbed into the yin yang symbol and turned into a part of the fishes.

Just like that, not a single raindrop could be found within a fifty kilometer radius. Even the streets looked so clean it was as if it had never rained.

“Is... is this a miracle of the gods?”

The streets were completely silent. The people forgot to kill, fear, or even speak. They were all staring at the sky where two fishes chased each other, and a gigantic taichi diagram spanning dozens of kilometers occupied the whole sky.

Slowly but surely, their gazes became centered around the young man who stood tall and proud among them. They looked at the young man whose footstep formed yin and yang, and raised arm stopped the Rain of Aging.

They looked at him... like they were looking at a god.

Eyes filling up with reverence and faces filling up with astonishment, titanic waves slowly rose from their hearts.

Hidden just underneath that wave was something called hope and fanaticism.

“Let’s go!”

Ye Qing ignored them and resumed his stride, Papersmith and Yang Bo following closely behind him. Every time he took a step, the people’s gazes would shift a little. Every time he traveled a meter, the people’s heads would turn an inch. They were all staring intently at Ye Qing, so afraid that this was a dream or hallucination that would pop at the slightest reaction; that they would fall right back into hell if they did not hold the image with everything they got that they didn’t even dare to blink their eyes.

On a related note, Yang Bo was absolutely dizzy right now. He was so excited that he was beet red in the face and stumbling practically every time he took a step.

He was dizzy because he could not believe what just happened. He thought what he saw previously was already stunning enough, but compared to this? It was almost the difference between night and day.

Was it possible for a human to split yin and yang with their feet and block the sky with one arm?

No. Only a god could do that.

That was why he was excited. Right here and now, god wasn’t just in front of him, he was following in the footsteps of this god.

If before the ray of hope in his heart was just that, a ray, now it was a full blown sun that firmly kept the darkness at bay. He now believed that this man could truly take him away from Void Stomach City and save him from this unending hell.

Why? Because he was a god, of course.

A god was omnipotent, no?

With all that said, how could he not be excited?

As Ye Qing’s figure grew distant, someone hesitated for a moment. Then, they chased after him.

One person, two people, three people...

Slowly, more and more people stepped out of their houses. Gradually, more and more people swarmed in from every direction. And all of them, were following Ye Qing.

No one said a thing.

No one tried to fight against each other.

No one dared to fall even a single step behind.

The river of humanity was like tidewater, soundless yet oh-so turbulent.

At first, some people were following Ye Qing because they were afraid that the Rain of Aging would fall again and subject them to misery worse than death once more. Some of them were also astounded by Ye Qing’s immense power and subconsciously followed him for that sliver of half-doubt, half-hope.

As time passed, they gradually realized that nothing anomalous or dangerous was happening. This was normally impossible as danger and anomalies were the constant, never-ending themes of the Void Stomach City. Just because one or more of the Four Great Natural Disasters were happening didn’t mean that they would not encounter danger. On the contrary, the Anomalies, Strangers, and more dangers occur far more frequently during an occurrence.

Although the Rain of Aging, the Bloody Wind and more were terrifying, that didn’t mean they could relax their guard in regards to Anomalies and Strangers. Otherwise, death would still catch up to them.

But despite following Ye Qing for so long and passing through multiple streets at this point, forget a stranger or an Anomaly, they hadn’t even been hit by a passing projectile or something.

Had Void Stomach City suddenly changed its theme?

Of course not.

Naturally, there was only one answer. It was the young man. It could only be the young man.

He did not just stop the Rain of Aging, he had neutralized the Strangers, Anomalies, and dangers as well.

Not only that, they could visibly feel their fatigue, hunger, pain, and more debilitating sensations decreasing over time.

Slowly, their eyes on Ye Qing grew reverent, excited, zealous.

They looked like they were looking at their god just like Yang Bo.

At the forefront, Ye Qing continued to move leisurely toward heavens-know-where. Since he wasn’t saying anything or reacting overtly, the crowd took it as permission to continue following him.

Beside Ye Qing, Papersmith asked in a low voice, “Should I chase them off, young master?”

Ye Qing shook his head. “No, I have a use for them.”

Papersmith thought for a moment. “Are you going to use them to locate your colleagues?”

Ye Qing nodded. “Yes, but that’s not all I’m planning.”

Papersmith looked puzzled. “I can’t see how else they might be useful.”

Smirking, Ye Qing did not give Papersmith a proper answer. “You’ll find out in a bit.”

About a teatime later, Ye Qing arrived at a Taoist monastery.

The monastery was huge and shaped like a crouching tiger. It was also forged entirely from bones. From a distance, it looked like a massive white tiger was crouching in the city.

The Taoist monastery did not have a name. Since it was forged from bones and shaped like a crouching tiger, people came to call it the White Tiger Monastery.

White Tiger Monastery didn’t just look like a white tiger either. Fiendish aura gathered above the monastery like black clouds, and a tiger could be seen sitting in the midst and roaring at the people.

“Se... Senior! Up ahead is the Crouching Tiger Monastery!”

Yang Bo looked terribly afraid as he stared at the monastery. “No one is allowed to enter Crouching Tiger Monastery without Taoist Tiger’s orders. Otherwise, they die.”

“Are you sure you’ve come to the right place, senior?”

“Do you think I would make such a mistake?”

Ye Qing cast Yang Bo a glance and said indifferently, “I came here for Taoist Tiger.”

“You’re here for Taoist Tiger?” Yang Bo looked surprised. “Did you happen to be acquaintances in the past?”

“No. But we will be acquainted very soon.”

Ye Qing began walking toward Crouching Tiger Monastery.

“Roaaaaaar!!!”

As soon as Ye Qing approached, the white tiger in the clouds seemingly noticed Ye Qing’s presence and let out a soundless roar. The fiendish aura gathering in the sky immediately swept toward him. It easily bowled over the crowd following behind Ye Qing.
