Chapter 1766: People Coming From All Places

“What are these people doing here?”

Ye Qing was puzzled. The Divine Firmament Sect, Eight Views Sect, Whale Rider Sect, and White Cloud Buddhist Monastery were all famous sects in the Southern Sea that had existed for over a thousand years. They were guarded by Sages and manned by many elites. “Is there something exceptionally unusual about that sea region?”

Unless he was sorely mistaken, these warriors were most likely aiming for the sea region.

No one was entering it though. In fact, it looked like they were keeping guard.

“I don’t know. I’ve never heard of this sea region.”

Feng Qingyou looked at the pentachromatic lightning storm in the sky thoughtfully, “However, I believe that this lightning storm is the legendary Innate Five Phases Divine Thunder.”

The Innate Five Phases Divine Thunder?” Ye Qing exclaimed in surprise.

The Innate Five Phases Divine Thunder was a divine lightning storm transformed from the qi of Five Phases. They were the Geng Metal Divine Thunder, Yi Wood Divine Thunder, Kui Water Divine Thunder, Bing Fire Divine Thunder, and Wu Earth Divine Thunder respectively.

The Five Phases Divine Thunders were extraordinarily powerful. They also had their own unique uses and effects. In fact, the greatest ultimate technique of the Dragon Tiger Mountain of the Heavenly Master Mansion was the Innate Five Thunder Divine Art. It boasted limitless potential.

No wonder these people didn’t dare to go inside, Ye Qing thought to himself.

They might be Truemen or Grandmasters whose footsteps could shake the land they were standing on, but they were nowhere strong enough to brave the Five Phases Divine Thunders.

“Someone’s coming.”

It was at this moment Ye Qing and Feng Qingyou sensed something and gazed into the distance.

At the same time, several terrible energies appeared from the horizon.

A grayish yellow yin cloud was floating over from the east. It wasn’t actually a cloud though. It was insects; countless insects gathering together to form a massive, dark cloud.

An old man was half lying in the cloud and drinking from a wine calabash slowly. He looked relaxed.

“A Sage!” Ye Qing remarked while raising his eyebrows. 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦

“Roar...”

To the west, a dragon’s roar shook the waves. Nine flood dragons drawing a chariot could be seen sailing across the sea. A middle-aged man with two horns, a red beard and red hair could be seen riding the chariot.

The nine flood dragons were all Disaster-class Strangers. Ye Qing was pretty sure that the old man riding the chariot was an Ancient-class Stranger—the equal of a human Sage—as well.

“The Southern Sea Dragon King...” Feng Qingyou said with a hint of surprise.

“Wait, seriously? The Southern Sea Dragon King?” Ye Qing exclaimed in astonishment.

Feng Qingyou nodded. “That is correct.”

Ye Qing rubbed his nose as his curiosity deepened. Just what on earth lay in the sea region that even the Southern Sea Dragon King had shown his face.

This was not the end, however. A storm of yin wind blew to the south, freezing the sea surface and killing everything underneath it.

A bone lotus flower floated amidst the yin wind, and a woman was sitting crosslegged in it.

The woman boasted a countenance so gorgeous that she could topple countries, but her head was shaven, and she was wearing a monk’s robe. She was also carrying a ring of Buddhist beads that released whispers and wails every time she turned it.

Even stranger, the woman was surrounded by grand and righteous Buddhist light. She looked like a living Buddha.

She looked evil yet righteous, murderous yet kind. The contrasting auras made her look both strange and dangerous.

“Another Sage?” Ye Qing raised his eyebrows.

He was still thinking when a rainbow appeared from the west, and radiant, colorful clouds spread across the sea. At the center, a woman was slowly walking toward this sea region.

The woman’s body was humanoid, but her head was a tangle of colorful branches. They looked profound and eerie.

Even stranger, human heads were hanging on the branches. There were infants, children, young women, mature ladies, old women...

Their faces all looked similar to one another. In fact, they all belonged to the same person. They looked different only because they were faces from different stages of the woman’s life.

That wasn’t all. The human heads were conversing happily with each other.

“An Ancient-class Stranger?” Ye Qing and Feng Qingyou exchanged glances with each other. This humanoid tree was also an Ancient-class Stranger, but neither Ye Qing nor Feng Qingyou recognized her or her kind.

“Yo! Dragon King, White Bodhisattva, Granny Tree! I see you’ve chosen to participate in this festival!”

The old man in the grayish yellow yin cloud took a sip of wine before sitting up and greeting the three Sage-level entities lazily.

His voice did not sound normal though. More accurately, it sounded like countless insects crawling, rubbing, tearing and consuming each other. It was low and raspy, irritating and shrill. It was a voice that made one’s scalp crawl.

“You came too, didn’t you? Taoist Gu?” The Southern Sea Dragon King looked up at the trio and said in a regal, dignified voice.

The old man named Taoist Gu enjoyed another sip of wine, smiling. “This is different. There is no one who likes a crowd more than me. Wherever a crowd exists, I am present. Naturally, there is no reason for me to miss this crowd.”

“You don’t like crowds. You only like profiting from their misery,” said the tree woman, Granny Tree.

She was the only one speaking, and yet her voice contained the childish innocence of a child, the clarity of a girl, the mellowness of a lady, and the raspiness of an old woman. It was eerie and strange.

Taoist Gu brushed off her insult easily. “It’s the same, isn’t it? What’s that saying again... right! A person who doesn’t take advantage of an opportunity is a bastard, and a person who doesn’t profit from another misfortune is a cowardly bastard. Isn’t that right, White Bodhisattva?”

White Bodhisattva, the Buddhist woman carrying Buddhist beads of bones but was surrounded by the benevolent light of Buddha said coldly, “I don’t like profiting from another misery. I only like delivering them from suffering.”

Granny Tree smiled. “You are a Buddhist, aren’t you? Why are you so bloodthirsty?”

White Bodhisattva replied icily and emotionlessly, “I kill to protect the Dao. I slay sin, not people. All I have killed is for the sake of the Dao.”

“If you dare stand in my Way, then I will deliver you from your suffering as well, Granny Tree!”

The human heads on the tree giggled at once. “Do you really think I’m scared of you, White Bodhisattva?”

The laughter blended together into waves of power. What looked like thick tree roots spread out of nothingness and shattered space itself.

“Come now, what are you doing?”

Taoist Gu let out a cackle, and insects swarmed the air. The thick, solid tree roots abruptly withered as countless insects crawled out of it.

Granny Tree’s complexion darkened instantly. “Are you going to make me your enemy, Taoist Gu?”

“I wouldn’t dare, not even if you lend me two galls!”

Taoist Gu hurriedly apologized before adding, “I just want to say that the ancient Divine Court hasn’t even shown its face yet. Don’t you think it’s a bit too early to be killing each other?”

“Besides, the sandpiper and cam goes to war, and the fisherman takes all. Do not forget that the Divine Firmament Sect, Eight Views Sect and other hypocritical bastards have already gone inside. You wouldn’t want to start a fight here and allow those hypocrites to claim all the spoils, would you?”
