Stranger Danger-Chapter 1767: Divine Court
“Taoist Gu is right.”
The Southern Sea Dragon King echoed in agreement. “It is unwise to engage each other in conflict at this moment. We can fight after we have found the Divine Court.”
“Fine. I’ll give you this face.” Granny Tree grunted, and colorful light spread. The next moment, they flooded toward the sea region enveloped by the Five Phases Divine Thunders.
The warriors of Divine Firmament Sect, Eight Views Sect, Whale Rider Sect, and White Cloud Buddhist Monastery standing guard outside the sea region rushed forward to stop it. “This place is under lockdown by the four sects of the Southern Sea. Stay where you are or be killed—”
Before they could finish giving their warning though, the colorful light enveloped them all and silenced them. When the light disappeared, it was revealed that there was a formless tentacle and punched a giant hole into each person’s chest.
“Intruders!”
Angry shouts erupted everywhere as the elites of the four sects mobilized. Some people unleashed their Magia and forbidden arts, some people employed their Strange Artifacts, some people formed formations, and some people commanded their sea beasts to attack.
“The Divine Firmament Thunder Seal... the Eight Wonders Lamp... the White Cloud Buddhist Beads... the Flag and Sword Great Web... tsk tsk, these hypocrites sure spared no effort in blocking another from interfering with their business!”
Taoist Gu said scornfully and ridiculingly.
“I shall go ahead.”
White Bodhisattva said softly while thumbing her beads of bones. Then, the bone lotus flower rushed headlong into the scary-looking great restriction.
Bloodcurdling screams filled the air, but benevolent Buddhist light illuminated everything.
Amidst the Buddhist light, the elites of the four Southern Sea sects were screaming in pain as pieces of their flesh fell off, and only bones were left behind.
“This king is taking his leave as well. Excuse me.”
The Southern Sea Dragon King said coldly and commanded his chariot to charge forward. The flood dragons roared, and they led the chariot straight toward the lightning-filled sea region. Every Trueman or Grandmaster blocking his way was devoured by the flood dragons. It was as brutal as it was domineering.
In just the blink of an eye, only a handful of guards remained outside the entrance. They all looked horrified and afraid.
“Tsk tsk... such brutality!”
Taoist Gu shook his head as his grayish yellow yin cloud carried him to the survivors’ heads.
Naturally, the survivors scattered everywhere like frightened birds.
“Why are you running? I am a benevolent and kind Taoist. I won’t kill you.”
Taoist Gu drank a sip of wine before spitting out an alcoholic fog. The fog quickly spread in every direction and enveloped everyone.
The next moment, the survivors turned red in the face and lost their focus. Then, they collapsed on the ground as if drunk out of their minds.
With that done, Taoist Gu made a grabbing motion and caused a grayish yellow flash. The survivors’ Nature’s Shells, storage artifacts, Strange Artifacts, treasures and more all flew into his hands.
Some people’s clothes were Strange Artifacts, so they were stripped naked in the blink of an eye. It was quite obscene to put it mildly.
“Not bad, not bad... this should buy me a lot of wine.”
Taoist Gu seemed very satisfied with his new pile of treasures. “This is the fee for allowing you to live.”
Right before Taoist Gu entered the sea region, he suddenly felt something and looked in the direction of Ye Qing and Feng Qingyou. His eyes flickered with power, but he didn’t find anything.
“There’s no one there... but why do I feel like someone’s spying on me?”
Taoist Gu scratched his head in confusion. “Oh well. Instincts can be wrong sometimes.”
There was a grayish yellow flash, and Taoist Gu was gone just like that.
“What incredible senses!”
Ye QIng looked at the spot where Taoist Gu had disappeared. “Who is that man?”
Taoist Gu was just a first level Sage. Cultivation wise, he was easily the weakest out of the four Sages. However, the Southern Sea Dragon King, White Bodhisattva and Granny Tree all looked wary of him.
Not only that, Taoist Gu was the only one who noticed their presence when his betters did not. Naturally, Ye Qing was curious.
“Taoist Gu is an independent warrior, but he is an exceptionally fortunate one. Rumors have it that he obtained the inheritance of the ancient Gu God and practiced the cultivation art known as the ‘Myriad Gu Control Divine Canon’. He could command all gu insects under the heavens and all sorts of gu creatures. He could also split his body into countless gu insects. If even one gu insect survives, then he will survive. One might say that he is an unkillable and imm existence.”
Feng Qingyou said, “Just think about it. A Sage who commands all gu insects is already scary enough, but he is also unkillable and immortal. Who would want to offend such a person?”
Ye Qing could not help but nod in agreement. The unkillable and immortal part of Taoist Gu was a little scary.
It was one thing to offend a Sage that you could kill, but if you failed to kill him, then all you had done was earn yourself a lifetime of trouble.
This Taoist Gu in particular could not die even if you “killed” him over and over again. One might say that he was a cockroach among Sages. Therefore, offending him was extremely unwise to say the least.
Feng Qingyou continued, “Besides that, despite his preposterous character, Taoist Gu does not enjoy killing the innocent or abusing his power. How should I put it? He is not a good man, but he is not a bad person either.”
“Because of this, no one from the orthodoxy or the unorthodoxy is willing to provoke him unless they have a really good reason to do so. Most of them stay far out of his way.”
The duo kept chatting with each other instead of hurrying into the sea region. About a teatime later, a dozen or so gu insects appeared out of nowhere, circled around the area once, and finally disappeared into the thunderous sea region.
Clearly, the gu insects were left behind by Taoist Gu.
Had they shown themselves, Taoist Gu would have discovered them for sure. 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎
Alas, Taoist Gu’s petty trick could not fool them.
“Do you think that the ancient Divine Court they’re talking about is the Divine Court, Qingyou?” Ye Qing recalled the group’s conversation and asked Feng Qingyou.
Feng Qingyou remained silent for a moment before answering, “It’s possible. If it’s a fake, then these Sages would not have shown up en masse!”
“The ancient Divine Court, huh?”
Ye Qing frowned a little. He needed to ask someone about this.
So, Ye Qing made a grabbing motion and lifted an unconscious man into the air.
The man was a disciple of the Divine Firmament Sect. He was a powerful Great Trueman. Right now though, he was red-faced and reeking of alcohol. If he didn’t know better he would think that the man had gotten shit-faced on the job.
Slap! Slap! Slap!
Ye Qing slapped the disciple a couple of times until a fly-sized insect crawled out of his nostril.
The insect was only as big as a fly, but its whole body was transparent and illusory like liquid. When it flapped its wings, the rich scent of alcohol spread everywhere. Just inhaling it was enough to make someone feel dizzy.
