Strongest Necromancer System-Chapter 677: Finishing Up

"Huh... Ah, I suppose there are a lot of guards in the building. You’ve come at the wrong time. I was just finishing up."

A guttural, alien voice suddenly spoke up from within the room, and the female Machina felt her eyes widen as she stared up at the monstrosity that greeted her! It was a monster unlike anything she had ever seen before! Its entire body was one large bulbous mass of black sludge that flowed and folded in on itself like some sort of slime, and it was so large that it nearly took up the entirety of the room with its size alone! In the monster’s hand was a Machina general, and the female Machina watched with wide eyes as the monstrosity slowly pushed the General into its body to consume him. The Machina general stretched a hand out towards the female Machina with a desperate plea for help in his eyes, but the female Machina was far too stunned to do anything, and she could only watch as her superior officer was consumed! Beside the giant slime, the Grand General was standing with his hand on his chin as he looked at a holographic map on his mechanical arm! It was as if the Grand General didn’t just see the monstrosity swallowing one of their comrades!

The female officer knew that there had been more than twenty generals in this room for the meeting, but now there was not one in here, other than the giant slime and the Grand General, and she was able to quickly figure out that the Grand General was also involved in whatever had gone on here! The generals had all been eaten by whatever this monster was! The female Machina immediately turned to her communication device and spoke up!

"All units, come in. All units come in. There is – Urk!"

But before she could finish her message, she let out a cry of pain as a blade suddenly erupted from her chest! The female Machina turned around slowly, and she saw that she had been stabbed by another one of her comrades! The Grand General looked up from his holographic map briefly to see who had arrived, and once he recognized who it was, he pointed towards the giant sludge absentmindedly!

"Go and combine back into one. We’re leaving this godforsaken place."

The soldier who stabbed the female Machina was another one of the self-divisions that Alex had created to act as a spy within the Machina army, and the soldier nodded as he carried the female Machina along and began walking towards the giant slime in the center of the room! The female Machina felt fear passing through her body as she got closer to the slime! The female Machina knew what was about to happen, and she didn’t want that! She didn’t want to be eaten by this beast! She had just saved up enough money to go on a vacation! She couldn’t die like this! The female Machina brought up a shaky hand and activated her cannon blaster to try and defend herself, but the slime suddenly lashed out with a tendril and grabbed the cannon blaster before squeezing down with enough force to crush her hand into paste! The female Machina let out a guttural scream of pain, but her screams were immediately snuffed out as the slime grabbed her up and shoved her into its body forcefully! The female Machina was immediately consumed, and the soldier who stabbed her slowly began to transform into a miniature version of the large slime before it also combined with the major body and added to its power as well.

Beside the giant slime, the Grand General licked his tongue in irritation as he finished calibrating some coordinates on his holographic screen. The Grand General had been trying to figure out how many Dimensional Jumps they would have to make before they could reach Varigan, and from what he could see, it would take more than fifteen jumps! But it was worth it since he knew that Gillian wouldn’t be able to find them there as long as they masked their magic properly!

"Come on, we have to get going."

The Grand General put his hand out and created a massive Dimensional Circle with a pulse of magic, and the giant slime behind him began to move forward slowly as it approached the circle! But the Grand General felt his brow furrow in shock when the slime tried to pass through the Circle, and it was immediately pushed back out again! The Grand General walked forward and put his hand on the circle, and he realised that there was a forcefield blocking them from leaving! What in the world was this!?

The Grand General didn’t know it, but on the other side of the world, where the Machina laboratory was located, Jason’s subordinates had taken control of the large control center that was in charge of maintaining the forcefield that blocked any form of dimensional travel into the world of the Machina. Many of Jason’s subordinates were Machina who had been directly involved in the creation of this forcefield, so it wasn’t difficult at all for them to manipulate the forcefield and invert it, so that its function switched from preventing anyone from entering the world to preventing anyone from leaving this world! Alexander was trapped in this world, and there was nowhere for him to run!

"Fuck."

BOOOM!

A massive explosion rang out from the roof of the castle, and Alexander cursed again as he quickly looked up to see multiple creatures diving down from the roof and straight towards them! The giant slime immediately lashed out with multiple tendrils and grabbed the Legion subordinates before bringing them into its body to try and consume them, but Alexander was shocked when he felt one of the Legion subordinates stab into its slimy skin with a long dark blade! Alexander wasn’t shocked by the stab at all since his skin was impervious to all sorts of blades, but he was shocked by the fact that Legion subordinates could stab him at all! Alexander’s abilities worked by immediately melting and consuming the body of any creature that he put inside himself, and he was very confident in his ability to consume anything since he had been doing this for a very long time! But for some reason, he couldn’t consume these creatures!

"Those aren’t mortal bodies! They’re immortal souls! Jason Marc is in this world, and those are his subordinates! Use physical attacks and crush them!"

The Grand General shouted in annoyance once he discovered what was really going on! The reason Alexander couldn’t consume the creatures was because even though they looked like physical beings, they were really souls that were under the command of Jason Marc! They did not have any body, so there was nothing for Alexander to consume! The Grand General looked up as he saw even more of the subordinates falling into the room! The sound of massive explosions continued to grow stronger as it approached the building, and there was nowhere for them to run since the Dimensional Portals had all been blocked!

’Damn you, Jason Marc.’

The Grand General grit his teeth in anger as he realised that all this was only because of that damn bastard Jason Marc! All his plans and preparations had been foiled by that bastard, and there wasn’t a single thing that had gone right ever since he first met that man on Radagan! The Grand General realised at this moment that there was only one way he could get out of here! The Grand General closed his eyes and let out a harsh breath as his anger rose to new levels, and when he opened his eyes, they shone with a mad resolve as he made up his mind! If he wanted to make sure that he never faced any more problems in the future, then he needed to kill Jason Marc!
