Strongest Scammer: Scamming The World, One Death At A Time-Chapter 195: Visiting The Library
Chapter 195: Visiting The Library
As Han Yu pondered the requirements, he didn’t realize just how fortunate he was to be in the Twin Leaf Peak Sect.
Had he been in a third-rate sect—or even one as notable as the Copper Cauldron Sect—finding this information wouldn’t have been as easy as simply asking an elder. Information of this caliber would typically be kept under tight wraps, available only to those with considerable standing or immense fortune.
But Han Yu had managed to obtain it with just a question, thanks in no small part to the backing of Li Mei.
Of course, he remained unaware that no elder would have approved such a request from anyone other than Li Mei. The so-called "Little Demon Alchemist" held a position far loftier than her demeanor suggested.
Now that he had the information in hand, Han Yu knew how to proceed.
’I at least know the minimum requirements to build a body,’ Han Yu thought to himself. ’If these materials are enough to reconstruct a Nascent Soul Realm cultivator’s body, they should definitely be sufficient for me too,’ he reckoned.
Though, when compared to the items he had unknowingly consumed upon his revival, the list for the Nascent Soul-level body was actually a bit less extravagant. That said, the primary cost in his case had come from the Appraisal Crystal and the Talent-Seeking Tablet, both of which were invaluable artifacts.
Those two items were particularly rare, incredibly difficult to create, and even harder to replace.
Their loss would burden the Twin Leaf Peak Sect for years.
Thankfully, that was not something Han Yu had to worry about.
"Hmm... Now, how would I go about obtaining these? It’s certainly something I need to prioritize," Han Yu muttered.
The Undying Life Charm was the ultimate insurance policy. With enough resources, he could set a revival mark in a safe location and live without fear of permanent death.
However, he lacked both the required materials and the Soul Qi. While his Soul Qi reserves were far greater than before, they were still nowhere near the amount needed to rebuild an entire body.
The only reason he had succeeded the first time was due to the Innate Soul Qi that resided in his body. That unique energy wasn’t normally usable—consuming it would destroy a cultivator’s soul. It existed solely to protect it.
But since Han Yu had already been dead, the restriction no longer applied.
Truly, fate had smiled upon him. Had even a single factor been different, he wouldn’t have survived.
If he had joined the Copper Cauldron Sect as he had originally intended, he wouldn’t have dripped blood on the Appraisal Crystal, nor would that sect have possessed the required materials. His revival would have been impossible.
’I suppose I can take a look in the libraries. They should have information about these materials,’ Han Yu thought.
While he could certainly place a formal request for the information, it would cost merit points, and such a request would undoubtedly raise eyebrows. A mere Outer Court disciple asking about revival materials would seem suspicious.
He was already fortunate that Elder Song had been willing to humor his earlier questions.
With that in mind, Han Yu made his way to the Outer Sect Library—a facility freely accessible to all Outer Court disciples.
The library had no restricted sections, but it also lacked high-value documents. There were no cultivation manuals, battle techniques, or rare skill books here.
Instead, the library offered encyclopedias, medicine compendiums, travelogues, guidebooks, geographical treatises, historical records, and a wealth of general knowledge.
The building stood near the lecture halls, with tall, polished stone walls and jade-tiled roofing that shimmered under the morning sun. Large open windows let in natural light, while talismanic lanterns hovered silently to provide soft illumination indoors.
It was Han Yu’s first time entering the library as an Outer Court disciple.
’This place is rather nice, now that I think about it,’ he mused.
The last time he’d been here was during his days as a servant. He had been tasked with dusting the ancient books and scrolls, a chore performed under time pressure with no opportunity to appreciate the surroundings.
Now, however, he had all the time he needed.
Walking through the tall wooden doors, Han Yu offered a polite greeting to the disciple seated behind the front desk.
The young man looked utterly bored, slouching in his chair as he leafed through a random book with glazed eyes.
"Greetings, Senior Brother," Han Yu said respectfully.
"Huh?" The man looked up, blinking slowly. "Oh... You can clean the fifth history section today," he said reflexively.
"Umm..." Han Yu hesitated, then took out his identity token and placed it on the desk.
The man’s eyes flicked down and widened in surprise. He looked at the token, then at Han Yu, and finally took note of the robes he was wearing.
"Wait... what?" he said, dumbfounded. "Those robes... You’re an Outer Court Disciple now!?"
"Yeah." Han Yu scratched his cheek, slightly embarrassed.
"When did that happen?" the man asked, still stunned.
"A year ago? Kinda," Han Yu replied casually.
"Damn... Why does no one tell me anything?" the man groaned. "When will my duty here end? Nothing fun ever happens." He slumped further into his chair with a dramatic sigh.
"Can I... have some guidance on where to find the books with information on drugs and herbs?" Han Yu asked.
"Oh, that," the man said, recovering slightly. He thought for a few seconds and then pointed to the left. "Go to the third section on the left. That entire aisle is dedicated to herbs and drugs."
"Thank you, Senior Brother," Han Yu said with a nod and turned to leave.
As he walked away, the bored disciple let out another sigh.
"Man, everyone’s moving up in the world, and I’m stuck here. I knew I shouldn’t have taken the two-year mission to work as Library Staff," he muttered, rubbing his face in frustration.
While the man lamented his choices, Han Yu happily entered the herb and drug section.
