Chapter 67: Chapter 67: Past’s Progression

The Brimgan Empire had countless Gold Grade existences, all belonging to the Royal family. Majority of them had minimal accomplishments, for they were more strategic in nature than combat oriented.

The mineral they used to build their Gold Grade Human Avatar, named Rutham, was awarded according to their accomplishments. Majority of the Brimgan Royals belonged to Branch Families, living for centuries easily thanks to their Gold Grade Human Avatar.

All those belonging to the Branch Families were at the Body Stage, and typically, the heads of these Branch Families reached the Life Stage.

Those with significant contribution and accomplishments were promoted to the Main Family, taking up positions as City Lords and leaders of other administrative institutions.

And among all the Brimgan Royals, there existed a select few, granted with the title after engaging in a one-on-one battle with a Gold Grade Pranic Beast and emerging victorious. Such existences were called a Prince or Princess respectively.

A Brimgan Royal bearing this title was heavily invested upon by the Brimgan Empire. There had been cases where a Gold Grade Pranic Beast managed to kill a Prince of the Brimgan Royalty. The consequences that followed suit were extremely simple.

The entire race got wiped out.

Advocating for Free Human supremacy, the Brimgan Empire had enough power to contest against the strongest of existences that appeared on Sumatra. They had plenty of cultivators with Gold Grade strength at the higher levels of the Life Stage.

’If they were to know of this...’ Bnapbnap’s face grew pale with fright as he promptly shattered all of the bindings on the bound man before him, stating respectfully, "I’ll...I’ll ensure you’re treated well and brought to the Empire safely."

"This is just a misunderstanding, alright?" He hurriedly pointed at Raurau and barked at the other party to apologise, "What are you doing by standing there in silence? Get here! And GET on your knees!"

"Yes," Raurau promptly got to the floor and slammed his forehead with force into the ground, "It was my mistake, Your Highness."

"I’m ready to pay the price for such a disrespectful act with my life."

The Brimgan Prince eyed Raurau and shook his head, "The fact that you managed to capture me is a testament to your skill. Someone like you is only fit to die on a battlefield, not here, under the guise of some petty politics."

He eyed Bnapbnap and spoke curtly, "The researcher that dared capture and experiment on me. I need his head."

He eyed the vial with the golden fluid in Bnapbnap’s possession, "That’s Rutham in liquid form."

"You understand what that implies, right?"

"Yes," Bnapbnap nodded with a defeated expression. For a moment, he considered killing the Brimgan Prince before him, but logic persuaded him otherwise, ’Every Brimgan Prince or Princess has at least one Minor Treasure in their possession capable of alerting the Empire of their situation.’

The Brimgan Empire was a land of Minor Treasures, the richest force on Sumatra. It could afford giving as many Minor Treasures a Prince could bear the burden of without hesitation. Such a force had the means to investigate the capture or death of its Prince, and obviously, dish out the consequences.

"Head Researcher," Bnapbnap expressed curiosity as a wall of mist blocked the Head Researcher’s escape, "Where are you going?"

"Are you..." He asked incredulously, "Are you seriously considering escape? Where will you escape?"

"Out of the Clan?" His expression turned fierce towards the end. The Cooter Clan will rather deal with the consequences of its actions instead of bearing the presence of a traitor.

The fact that the Head Researcher could even consider fleeing was like a slap to their beliefs. It was inconceivable that a Cooter Clansman could do such an act, for it was no different from betraying their Deity.

"Well, I tried." The Head Researcher burst into laughter, "Kill me if you want to, idiots!"

"I’ve already sent an Information Slip bearing scenes of me torturing the Brimgan Prince to the Empire." A stream of mist grabbed him by the neck and applied pressure. The Head Researcher merely eyed with a fanatical expression, uncharacteristic of a Cooter Clansman, "Now, the Empire’s might will fall upon your Clan."

His corpse fell to the floor, crushed into a paste by Bnapbnap. But right as Bnapbnap was about to retract the stream of mist he had released, the Brimgan Prince and Raurau cautioned him at the same time.

"Something’s amiss." Raurau’s expression turned fierce. Prana gathered into his eyes as he observed his surroundings, "It’s a Nirclick’s pollen. They are seeping out of the Head Researcher’s body."

"Point me to where they are gathering," Bnapbnap uttered as lightning burst out of his being and transformed into an arm that razed all the appointed locations into a crisp. A faint stench filled the place as all the pollen had been burnt to ashes. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦

’It’s not strange a Brimgan Prince can detect the pollen. But,’ Bnapbnap wondered as he eyed Raurau, ’How can he detect something that not even I could?’

[If you are ever puzzled by Raurau’s display of strength, merely make peace with yourself. Never investigate!]

It was oftentimes conveyed to him by his older sister, Eureur, with enough force that even he had no other choice but to listen. It was in response to another statement of hers.

[If the Cooter Clan ever faces a disastrous situation that could only be solved by a massive loss of our brethren, send Raurau first. He’ll complete any missions flawlessly.]

As a result, he had always ensured to send Raurau on the most dangerous missions, surprised every single time when they were all completed without issues. It made Raurau the most accomplished Raid Captain of the Cooter Clan.

Recalling his older sister’s statement, Bnapbnap grew silent. A few seconds later, he spoke, "Dammit! I never knew the Nirclicks had infiltrated this deeply into our midst!"

He quickly turned around to bow towards the Brimgan Prince, "Please rest assured that we’ll get to the bottom of this incident and present a favourable conclusion to the Brimgan Empire."

"I understand." The Brimgan Prince knew that Bnapbnap was taking complete advantage of the excuse that had presented itself. The Head Researcher was under a Narlakk’s influence.

The Narlakk’s existence was already acknowledged by the Brimgan Empire. He was one of the groups sent out by the Empire to scout for a Narlakk and kill it.

The Brimgan Prince had personally killed two Narlakks and understood the danger posed by the other party. Before he was captured by the Cooter Clan, he was rushing home to inform the Empire about the info he had gained about the enemy.

’This guy is competent.’ The Brimgan Prince got up, feeling Prana beginning to circulate through his body, sluggish, but steady. His strength had plummeted heavily, but it was only in regards to his latest body. He still retained full strength in the rest of his bodies.

’Whether it be in the strength he displayed in capturing me or the promptness at which he sensed the Narlakk’s pollen, he’ll be of valuable help.’ After a moment’s consideration, the Brimgan Prince addressed the duo before him, "I will communicate with the Empire and ease this situation."

"The Empire’s response will take many days, but the urgency of this situation takes priority." He spoke, "I intend to request the Cooter Clan’s help in thwarting the enemy’s plan in a nearby region."

"From what I uncovered, if the enemies succeed there, then they’ll be able to easily infect those like us with Gold Grade strength." His statement thundered upon Bnapbnap and Raurau.

"Where is it?" Raurau asked in a hurry, nodding in sync with Bnapbnap to display their will in cooperating, "The Cooter Clan will dispatch a force sizeable enough to destroy the enemy."

"That is..." The Brimgan Prince hesitated for a moment, knowing the sensitivity of the location to the Cooter Clansmen before revealing its name, "It’s the Dralh Sea."
