Chapter 68: Solely To Train You

Urgh!

In a room, slumping his cheeks like they were a jelly was Torq, embodying the epitome of laziness while a sphere of water danced overhead, defending against a series of attacks.

Thwack!

A whip of water lashed upon his back with enough force to jolt his body. However, he remained in his lazy pose. It was part of his training process, one in which he had to multitask. A portion of him had to truly embrace sloth while in reality, his mind worked in overdrive with the usage of a Spirit Weapon.

"To be truly desperate, it’s not enough if you’re only moving like a desperate individual would. That makes you predictable for the enemy." Eureur Pet’s voice resounded while she lay next to him on the bed, in a slothful pose mimicking his.

Using psychokinesis, she controlled a stream of water that constantly targeted Torq with the intent to kill, resulting in lashes on his back every time he failed to defend on time, "Even if you’re burning your soul from within, your exterior should resemble a cool, flowing river."

"Losses are fine, don’t try to save everyone. That makes you predictable." She spoke in concern, extending a hand to gently brush Torq’s slumped cheek, "Only save those who can outclass you in terms of wit, strength, and sheer unpredictability."

"Your every action must be strategic in nature." She concluded.

"I’m aware," Torq uttered while remaining in the same pose, "That’s why I’m not running around the place."

"The net I’m weaving, will only start to reveal itself in later regressions." He spoke.

"I’m not talking about that." She paused for a few seconds before speaking as another whip of water lashed on Torq’s back, "You act as if things will go your way...no, that’s not it."

"Since you can regress, your priority now is personal strength and setting up seeds for the important events, right?" She analysed his mentality, "That way, during later regressions, you’ll nurture those seeds and by the final regression, the seed would have become a tree robust enough to overcome the situation."

"Am I making sense?" Her lips curled up to see Torq’s figure shudder ever so slightly, "So, I am right."

"With the limited information you’ve revealed to me, I’ve managed to figure out your plan." She spoke, "Do you see what I’m getting at now?"

"The more you take action, the more you’re revealing your hand. If even I can figure out your plan, I’m sure others can do it too, eventually." She sighed, "I know for a fact you’re not arrogant of your capabilities. And I’m pretty sure you’ve witnessed smart existences that truly strike in you an inferiority complex."

"I did, plenty in fact." Torq accepted the claim, "And it’s one such existence brimming with creativity that helped refine my plan."

"That’s why I’m confident in my actions."

"I am not nitpicking your plans. Do whatever you want." She pinched Torq’s cheek, "All I want to imprint on you is a change in attitude."

"Treat every regression as your last." Her words caused Torq to spring to his feet in alarm.

"Tch!" Torq had a foul expression, "Just how much did you figure out about me?"

"If someone reaches the Life Stage with the Buoyant Disease, just remember that they didn’t reach that point by chance or luck." Eureur Pet smiled wryly, "I’ve done questionable acts so many times it comes to me like breathing."

"As a mother, as someone who isn’t even qualified to be one, all I ask from you is one thing," She sported a pleading expression, "Treat this life, and every single life you’ll take from now on, as your last."

"If you don’t assume such an attitude, I know for a fact you’ll never win, no matter how strong you become."

"We’re done here," Torq grumbled and inhibited Eureur Pet’s activities, following which he grabbed her by the hand and watched her disappear. Now, she was stored in Boiboi’s Secondary Nature slot.

Slumping on the bed, he had a foul expression, ’Shit! Shit! Shit!’

’If she knows so much about me, all that information is asking to be leaked to the enemy, especially with how convenient a Narlakk boosted by a quill makes the process!’ He punched the bed with enough force it shattered his wrist.

The pain didn’t even register itself in his mind, as he only had one thought, ’I should kill her!’

Daily Pet–Eureur Pet!

He brought out the Eureur Pet once again, this time after fully suppressing the other party’s autonomy. He then willed the Pet to create an Information Slip possessing all the information gathered by the other party about him and how she had achieved the same.

The Eureur Pet condensed a sphere of water enough to flood the room to half the height. That was the sheer amount of water necessary to carry her life’s worth of information in an Information Slip.

Torq began to drink the water and sorted through the information. But after a few gulps, he stopped, snorting with a foul expression, "There’s nothing."

The information he sought wasn’t present in the Information Slip. There were no traces of it. The Information Slip held every aspect of her life, since her birth. Through a casual glance, everything seemed to be there.

However, when Eureur approached Bnapbnap to congratulate the other party for successfully becoming the Settlement Leader, the scene was cut off. When Eureur reached the 10-Life Stage and obtained the qualifications to converse with the Cooter Clan’s Transcendents, every conversation she had was cut off.

Only based on his experience did Torq know she was conversing with a Transcendent there. For anyone else witnessing the scene, they would only think she was gazing at the sky to admire nature.

Everything of value seemed to have been erased from the Information Slip. That wasn’t all. The entirety of her experience birthing Boiboi and Runthral wasn’t present. Their childhood too was mostly erased.

Only the bare minimum of interaction was kept in the Information Slip, that too consisting of information with no value, such as Runthral sitting still on a rock doing nothing.

Runthral’s face, in the Information Slip, had been erased. And there was no mention of Boiboi across her memories, as if such an individual never existed.

After skimming till the end, Torq made Eureur erase all the information in the water and ejected out the plain water through the stream proceeding through the room.

He then released his suppression and glared at the other party, "How is that possible?"

"I take it you tried to extract information out of me?" Eureur Pet seemed unfazed by the action and a moment later, expressed disappointment, "I commend you for taking advantage of your ability to extract information."

"But why do you expect to obtain such a windfall from a mere gift?" She harrumped, "Remember what I told you at the start?"

"I exist solely to train you."
