Sumatra's Greatest Fan-Chapter 93: Raurau’s Raid Competence
Immersed within the flooded banks of the Kappeet Channel were a total of 40 Centingers, raining artillery strikes nonstop the moment the five Battleships were forced to stop due to the blockage.
Rushing towards the blockage with a team of 20 Cooter Clansmen was Raurau, focusing on the enemy before him. Reaching a height of 20 metres to appear no different from a bamboo shoot was this creature.
It held long arms, numbering 100 in total, each stretching for a hundred metres. Positioned along its length were talons numbering between three to five per arm, with a closing motion meant to dig into the flesh of a gripped prey.
The ends of each arm was a claw, large and sharp enough to grab the target and dig into it. It was a creature incapable of movement. It could move technically, but at a snail’s pace that made it seem a robustly rooted pillar instead.
Advanced Silver Grade Pranic Beast–Rockatrice!
With a Prana capacity of 2800 and a lifespan of 520 years, the Rockatrice was a solitary creature often found in the midst of trade routes assumed by many Free Human and Pranic Beast groups.
They were primarily found in the nomadic routes frequented by the Mammoth Clan.
’Neither is this territory nor are they equipped to survive here.’ Raurau frowned as he approached the four Rockatrices and cautioned his people, "Be on guard against the hills behind the Rockatrices. They will stiffen your movements if you are careless."
"Activate your Spirit Weapon forms at my signal."
The four Rockatrices released their Prana detection means to prepare against Raurau and his team. Hundreds of arms reached towards the incoming group like whips, intending to either grab the opponents or rely on the talons to shred apart their fragile bodies.
"Go!" At Raurau’s shout, the team of Cooter Clansmen seemed to vanish, causing the arms to flail about helplessly.
The skins of the Rockatrices prickled, prompting them to notice 21 fist-sized objects in the shape of hearts that had appeared on the water surface suddenly. As their arms moved towards the target, the 21 fist-sized objects retreated into the water.
It was the Spirit Weapon form of a Cooter Clansman that had reached the peak of the Body Stage. In this form, the entirety of their strength was concentrated in the fist-sized objects, while their real bodies were spatially stored within.
The 21 Spirit Weapons revolved around each other and synchronised their psychokinesis. 21 streams of water converged upon their revolutions and knitted into each other.
A dozen seconds later, a water serpent resembling the head and neck of an Empyrean Snapper jutted out of the water and crashed into the Rockatrices.
Primary Nature–Rocky Intimidation!
The wall of hills behind the Rockatrices unleashed a wave of suppression, capable of stiffening the muscles of all living beings in the immediate vicinity, making movements rigid, and sometimes, impossible.
The water serpent, however, only stiffened for a moment and continued ahead with reduced speed. It bore down upon the closest Rockatrice and used the 21-differently streamed flows of water in its body to grind the target to shreds.
Boom!
The mouth of the serpent clamped upon the Rockatrice and flattened its midriff. The Rockatrice’s hundred hands bombarded the water serpent, splashing water everywhere.
However, the water serpent was not a living being. Hence, the sustained damage was merely some units of Prana wasted and nothing else. It curled and curved while changing its girth according to the situation.
Taking advantage of the Bernoulli’s Principle that states an increase in speed of a fluid occurs simultaneously with a decrease in static pressure, the streams of water forming the serpent constantly changed their size to either increase their speed or decrease the speed for a higher pressure.
The former was applied to a lunge while the latter was applied when the water serpent curled upon its opponent and crushed it apart. The 21 streams worked like a single unit to dynamically vary the speed, pressure, and every possible parameter necessary to shred apart the Rockatrices.
The last of the Rockatrices elevated itself by spewing rock underneath it. The water serpent coiled around the rock pillar and climbed to its peak promptly, where the Rokatrice created smaller stones and used its hundred hands to chuck them at the approaching serpent.
The water serpent reduced its girth to barely reach a metre, nimbly evading through the hail of stones. Suddenly, it expanded in size to become a mist and covered the peak, reducing visibility to zero.
The Rockatrice activated its ability to full swing, damping the Prana detection means of the Cooter Clansmen and increasing the visibility. Clubbing its hands that held spears of rock, it thrust into the serpent, accurately aiming for its core.
The core was where the 21 Spirit Weapons were stored, spewing out streams of water to power the serpent. While its brethren were being shredded apart by the water serpent, it focused on figuring out its opponent’s weaknesses.
And now, it targeted the weakness. Most of its stone spears were destroyed by the violent streams of water targeting them as they pierced through the water serpent. One of them managed to reach the core, when it generated a powerful force of intimidation that slowed down the opponent’s psychokinesis to a lethargic state.
Using the chance, the stone spear pierced into the midst of the Spirit Weapons and was about to puncture one of them. At this moment, the Spirit Weapon moving about in the centre, as the group’s leader, moved to intercept the stone spear.
The stone spear made contact with the Spirit Weapon and shattered.
[Impossible! How is it so hard?]
The Rockatrice was confident in its attack succeeding and cursed in shock when its strongest attack merely bounced off the other party upon contact. The mist condensed into a serpent, turned to water, and gobbled up the Rockatrice.
The entire battle merely lasted two minutes as the water serpent crashed into the wall repeatedly until cracks started to form.
Water gathered into its mouth to form a vortex that was then released as a blast of mist that blew away large chunks off the wall. While the water serpent kept colliding into the wall, the high-pressured mist it spewed ended up exaggerating the cracks until large chunks were flushed downstream.
Breaking down the wall took twice longer than killing the Rockatrices, since most of the latter’s strength was concentrated in the stone pillars they created.
As large chunks of rocks flooded into the Dralh Sea, the water serpent entered the water and cleaned the riverbed too, ensuring there was enough depth in the water to allow the Battleships to sail forth without issues.
Kieeee!
Morphing its head to resemble a horn, the water serpent blew pressurised mist through the apparatus, which generated a loud horn, signalling the Raid Group that the path had been cleared.
’The way he executes his tasks is impressive. No wonder he’s our most successful Raid Captain.’ Bnapbnap whistled and gave a command, at which the Battleships began to blast to smithereens every living being in their surroundings.
