Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts-Chapter 985: Report
Chapter 985: Report
“What’s actually going on?”
The woman looked relieved the moment she saw this big, muscular man appear. “Captain!”
“Liz? Ah, you are on the night shift today.”
“Yes, Captain! I didn’t think you would be here.”
“My house is nearby. I woke up and found this?” The man noticed that the alien was taking out its tentacles, so he hurriedly summoned a druid. The druid then summoned a tree whose branches extended to restrain the alien completely. “Watch this thing for me.”
Once the alien was stopped, the man turned to his subordinate, asking, “What’s going on? Do you know anything?”
“No, sir. By the time I arrived, it had almost swallowed the guard over there. I know nothing currently.”
“…” The man frowned. This alien looked like a human or even a human itself, but that was what made it weird. He had never seen anything like this before. “Follow me.”
They both walked toward the guard as the captain asked, “Tell me everything you know.”
Because some time had passed and the alien had been subdued completely, the guard had regained a bit of composure.
Even though he was still shaking, he pointed at the alien and explained, “I don’t know what’s going on. We originally found the woman standing on the street without doing anything.
“We were worried and approached her, but when she turned around, her appearance looked like an alien. There were tentacles coming out of her mouth and nose.
“She… she killed my friend. I don’t know anything else.”
“…” The man frowned. He turned to his subordinate as both of them nodded at the same time. They hurriedly inspected the corpse.
“There’s nothing wrong with his body, but…” The woman pressed the body with her fingers. “The heart is missing. The skull is not fractured, but a part is missing. Some organs are also destroyed…”
“This alien…” The man gritted his teeth, holding his anger.
“Captain…” The woman tried to stop him.
“I know.” The man took a deep breath. “We need to get it checked. We’ll capture this thing and see what we can do with it.
“I will bring it back to the base while you take care of the body here.”
“Understood.”
The druid wrapped the alien’s entire body in thick wood as he walked with the man to their office.
Little did they know, several people were watching them from behind the windows, scared. Only two people who had different emotions.
One of them was a woman who seemed to be observing the alien’s movement as she was taking some notes. The other was a shadowy figure that soon disappeared once the situation was under control.
Both of them were stronger than the captain himself, so no one discovered them.
“Hmm… The alien seems to have integrated perfectly with the body. However, because the host is not as strong, its power is lower, like in the theory. Still, it has the strength of a juvenile class, so it’s not bad.
“Because there’s no living being in sight, it doesn’t do anything. The lack of the black cell is making this alien less aggressive, which is probably the reason for it to not attack anyone in their houses.
“But if we put this alien in the middle of the street or inside a house and spot a human, it is most likely to attack. One might not be enough, but if there’s enough aliens, it can create so much chaos and overwhelm the guards and those people from the Summoner Division.”
Once she was done, she put the light off so that people thought she had returned to sleep.
Meanwhile, the shadowy figure returned not to anywhere in the city, but back to a huge mansion in the wilderness.
“!!!”
“Sonia?” Bella raised her eyebrows as Sonia returned from her mission.
“Report.” Sonia nodded. “The Divine Hand has begun to move. I just found an alien in human clothing.”
“Did you make your move?” Bella asked.
“No. I believe it would just cause the enemy to notice our movement, so no.” She shook her head. “Should I?”
“No. You did well. Tell me everything you saw.”
Sonia began to recount everything that had happened, which made Bella and Evelyn furrow their eyebrows. Even Revon, who had just returned from his mission a few days ago, crossed his arms.
Revon asked, “Captain. Shouldn’t we start taking some actions as well?”
“Not yet.” Evelyn shook her head.
“Are we waiting for Nathan? But that guy is still out there. I might not care much about these lives, but…”
Evelyn waved her hand. “No. It’s not because we’re waiting for Nathan. It’s because of him, but not that.”
“So… When are we going to make our move?”
Evelyn paused for a moment. “Let’s see. According to Nathan, the reason he picked 3 months is due to the Divine Hand.
“The Divine Hand has been hiding the whole time, so even if we make our move, there’s a chance they will cut them off and hide again.”
“Do you mean the two people who are blending with common people?”
“Yes. They might be under strict surveillance. If they know we’re coming for them, they might realize and immediately disappear. Ultimately, we will fail to find them.
“That’s why Nathan said he is waiting for them to take action. By wasting their time in hiding, they will become more and more impatient.
“The more success they have, the more aggressive they will become.
“So, by eliminating the threats lingering inside the academy, we will be able to keep the casualty minimum. After all, the reason they are coming for the students is for their bodies, which are different from normal humans.
“Now that they have begun to move, we should also make preparations. We’ll wait for the perfect time and secure those two.
“That’s why it’s not the time for us to make a move yet. We’ll wait until they emerge and confront them head-on.”
Revon frowned before sighing. “Fine. Although this will make us look a bit passive, as long as we can destroy them, I don’t care.
“Now that I think about it, where is he? Aren’t you staying with him, Captain?”
