System's POV-Chapter 1476: We Can’t Win Against A God
"It’s been a while, Zion," the Grand Marshall of the Central Government, Lawrence, said with a smile. "Looks like Solterra has kept you busy these days."
"Indeed," Thirteen replied. "I’ve been hanging out with the Fiends and Celestials during my free time, and we’re now the best of friends."
The Monarchs and the Thrones, as well as the other important officers of the various factions, looked at Zion in disbelief.
"Is that so?" Thirteen’s father-in-law, as well as the Field Marshal of the Central Government, Tristan chuckled. "You should introduce me to them sometime. I’d love to be best friends with a few Celestials and Fiends."
"Sure, Father. Let’s do that after we survive this battle." Thirteen smiled faintly.
He was very open to calling his father-in-law Father in front of hundreds of dignitaries who were currently invited for a massive online conference to discuss the upcoming battle in Solterra.
It was a battle they couldn’t escape, so they wanted someone to lead them. Of course, there was no better option for a leader than Zion, whose skills were already tried and tested.
"Will the Celestials and the Fiends fight with us during this battle?" the Monarch of the Cygni Continent, Douglas Griffin asked.
"I don’t know," Thirteen answered. "But there are a few I believe will fight alongside us. They are Forneus, Dantanian, Wormwood, and Cranky."
Hearing the three Legendary Fiends of Solterra made the people in the conference breathe a little easier.
Of course, they already knew who Cranky was. How could they possibly not know the Celestial that had been born in their own world of Pangea?
In fact, the world of Pangea itself influenced Cranky’s human form.
But aside from the Monarchs and Thrones that were in the conference room, there were a few other additions that Thirteen didn’t expect to see.
The Prince of the Dragonkin, Prince Aurelion, eyed Thirteen calmly. He was still trying to get over "Zia," but it was very hard to do so.
The representative of House Pavereth, Prince Valen, who was also one of Thirteen’s in-laws, was also there to represent his people.
Princess Laventia and her Aunt, Lady Ristella, represented the Velmoria Royal Family.
King Valtheron, the King of the Blackfang Dominion and now one of Thirteen’s subordinates, was also present.
The Queen of the Venomheart Cabal, Queen Xeres, gave Zion a brief nod because she had already joined Thirteen’s faction in their war in Artem.
Of course, the other Princes’ like Prince Orryn of the Marten Race had also come to participate in the conference.
Thirteen’s other allies and subordinates, like Prince Zorren of the Skavari and Prince Xylen of the Azrakith Court, smiled warmly at Zion.
Former enemies and friends had all gathered as one to think of how to deal with the calamity that was about to befall their world.
Thirteen couldn’t help but sigh in his heart. This conference might not have been possible if the Jinns and the Wanderers didn’t agree to walk hand in hand as they lived in the world of Pangea.
"Tell us straight," Prince Aurelion said calmly. "What’s the scale of their army? We have fought against the Infernals before. But we only fought low-ranking Warlords in the past."
"While I am not a hundred percent certain, I believe we will face the main army of the Infernals," Thirteen replied.
At the mention of the Main Army of the Infernals, the expressions of the leaders of the Jinns immediately turned solemn.
"A-Are you talking about the Army led by the Supreme Commander of the Infernals?!" King Valtheron stuttered. "You’re talking about THAT army, right?!"
"Yes," Thirteen replied calmly as if he had already expected this kind of reaction from the Jinns, who had on more than one occasion clashed with the Infernals.
"That’s suicide..." Queen Ceres commented. "He’s a God. We can’t win against a God."
"Don’t worry, we also have Gods on our side," Thirteen answered. "We have the God of Wanderers and the God of Apocalypse on our side." 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚
"Pardon?" Douglas Griffin frowned. "Did you say God of Apocalypse?"
"Yeah, his title is a bit dark and ominous, but he’s a very wholesome guy," Thirteen stated. "He gives free food and lodging to my slaves—errr, subordinates."
Everyone in the room wondered if Thirteen was just joking to lighten the mood or not. But since the God of Wanderers was on their side, their anxiety decreased by a bit.
"Okay, how about the Pseudo-Gods and Demigods on their side?" Prince Aurelion commented. "We’re talking about dozens of Pseudo-Gods and Hundreds of Demigods.
"Right now, we don’t have enough high-ranking powerhouses to fight them. The strongest fighters we have are Celestials and Fiends. They’re simply no match for those beings."
Thirteen nodded in acknowledgment. "You’re right. But we don’t have to worry too much about them. Pseudo-Gods cannot descend in Solterra without using any special means. And even if they did, the God of Wanderers will not sit idly and allow that to happen.
"It’s the same reason why the strongest Jinns that can cross over to our side are only Majin Princes’ and Princesses. There are laws that cannot be overcome so easily unless they are willing to pay a price for it."
"And what if they are willing to pay a price?" Lawrence asked. "What then?"
"Then everyone should start praying to whatever Gods they believe in for a miracle," Thirteen leaned on his chair. "That’s the only way we can win this war."
Silence descended inside the massive conference hall.
Not a single person spoke for several seconds after hearing Thirteen’s answer.
Hundreds of dignitaries stared at the young man seated calmly at the center of the screen, wondering if he was joking, serious, or simply insane.
Praying for a miracle?
Was that truly the strategy of the teenager who had defeated countless enemies and led Pangea through several impossible battles?
"...You’re not joking," Prince Aurelion said slowly.
"I rarely joke about things that can get everyone killed," Thirteen replied.
A few people in the hall coughed awkwardly.
"That... doesn’t make me feel any better," King Valtheron muttered.
Thirteen shook his head. "There are many uncertainties in the upcoming battle. But there is one thing I am certain about.
"The moment any Infernal above the rank of a Celestial or Fiend descend into the world, some laws will be overwritten. This means we stand a chance of wiping out the small fries in this battle."
Lawrence smiled wryly. "Only the small fries? How about the hard hitters?"
"You don’t have to worry about them since they are way above everyone’s league," Thirteen smirked. "The good news is that we can bring in the weapons of Pangea in this battle. The law preventing our weapons from working in Solterra will be lifted because the God of Wanderers will make an exception."
After hearing that their modern weapons could be used in the upcoming battle, the Wanderers finally felt that they truly had a fighting chance.
Thirteen had shared some blueprints with Arthur and the Central Government about specialized tactical nukes that were "environment friendly".
He had been preparing for the final battle after the war on the Cygni Continent had ended.
While these weapons of mass destruction may not be as strong as Athena’s concentrated beam strikes that had the power of ten suns, the nukes were still powerful enough to obliterate the small fries of the Infernal Army.
This would also allow the main forces of Solterra and Pangea to deal with the hard hitters of the Infernal Army, allowing them to even up the odds, even by a tiny bit.
