The Alpha's Forsaken Feisty Mate-Chapter 94: Provoke them to hurt you
Radulf returned to the chamber through the balcony. He put on the robe, already sensing Zenna wasn’t in the bedchamber. Opening the doors, he stepped out and saw her on the sofa.
"What are you doing there?" Radulf’s voice captured her attention. He found she was already in a white night dress of white color.
"How was the run?" Zenna asked, closing the book she was reading in his absence.
"It was nice," Radulf replied, approaching her.
Zenna closed the book and placed it on the table. "This was one nice book. I gained the knowledge of a few herbs," she said with a gentle smile.
"Norman’s library consists of the best books in the entire kingdom. A rare collection which only he owns," Radulf asserted.
"Yes. I hope you help him with the renovation," Zenna replied.
"I will," Radulf assured her. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚
"Thank you for standing up for me," Zenna finally said what she desired for a while. The concern in her eyes became more evident as she spoke, "But why did you come inside? What if you were punished?"
"It’s not easy to punish me," Radulf said with a chuckle.
"You used your wish for me. Why? Don’t you hate me anymore? I think you could have used that one wish for yourself. You wasted it on me," Zenna whispered, lowering her eyes.
"I never wasted it. How could you even say that?" Radulf snickered. "And how many times do you have to tell me that I cannot hate you even if I want to," he stated. He reached his hand to her neck, his fingers dancing on her cold skin as he drew her close. His nose brushed against hers, his breath mingling with hers.
"Now, what you need to do is provoke them to hurt you. Then, Phillipe will be forced to punish them severely," Radulf suggested to her to take revenge from them.
Zenna lifted her head, meeting his gaze. "You want me to get beaten up so that they could be punished!?" Her eyebrows raised on her own.
"I didn’t say that. I said you need to provoke them to the extent that Phillipe can punish them. I can help you, but I want something in return," Radulf stated.
"What do you want?" Zenna asked promptly.
"You," Radulf replied.
"Me? I’m already yours," Zenna said.
"Not like this," Radulf shook his head.
"Then?"
"I want you to love me without any doubts or questions," he said.
"Okay." Zenna nodded her head. She thought he would kiss her now, but he didn’t.
"Let’s go to bed then," Radulf said, taking a step back. She felt the warmth from her neck had gone as he withdrew his hand too.
"Will you allow me to check your back?" Zenna suddenly made a request.
"My back? Why?" He mused.
"You got a hit there from the metal glass," Zenna said.
"Don’t worry. My back is made of steel," he jested. But it didn’t satisfy Zenna. She went behind him and lowered the robe, asking him to lose the knot from the front. He did it and allowed her to see his back.
"The skin is slightly red," Zenna said, her fingers tracing the skin on the back, where he got the hit.
"I told you not to worry about it," Radulf whispered, tying the knot again. "I’m sleepy now," he said and went in first.
Silently, she also followed Radulf into the bedchamber and waited for him to get into the bed first.
However, Radulf switched off the lights, letting only a candle glow at the center of the table. He lay down first, sliding inside the soft duvet.
"Are you going to stare at me from there?" he asked, bringing his arm under his head.
Zenna went to the other side of the bed and lay on the mattress. Her heart thumping loudly against her chest when she felt Radulf covering her with the duvet.
She thought he would move away but he didn’t. Instead, he remained lying behind her.
"Your heart is beating rapidly. I was the one, who came from a run, but your heart is the one that’s racing," Radulf muttered. "Is it because of the fear? What fears you when I am your husband?" His fingers threaded through her long hair. She felt his lips hovering just above her ear.
Zenna shut her eyes tight, trying to get some sleep. And soon, she even drifted into a deep slumber.
"How could she fall asleep leaving me in such a mess?" Radulf murmured, lying straight on his back. He let out a deep sigh, followed by a chuckle. "She keeps me at bay when she’s awake, but now sleeps by my side thinking I will remain sane." Covering his eyes from his hand, he turned his back to Zenna.
"How long am I supposed to wait for her to respond to me and my needs?" Radulf mumbled, in a low voice. His body stiffened when Zenna hugged him from behind. He wondered if she was awake and tilted his head over his shoulder to look at her.
"Zenna, why are you doing this?" He tried to move her hand away from his body, but at the same time, he liked the feel of his fingers on his abdomen. He gulped hard, his pupils dilated and he began thinking of ways he would do it with Zenna.
"Agh!" Radulf sat up quickly, his head resting against the hoverboard. The robe’s knot was already loosened, revealing his chest and well-defined abs under the dim candlelight. He reached his hand to Zenna’s cheek, and he brushed the pad of his fingers on it. "She looks prettier while she’s asleep."
Radulf admired her silently. "You were saving Gregor in the palace without caring for your own life. He must have been a good friend to you, the only person in your life who was kind to you. I wonder if he ever fell in love with you."
The thought itself infuriated him. "I need to find out. What if he has feelings for you?" Radulf muttered to himself while beginning to feel jealous.
