The Best Actor Insists On Living With Me!-Chapter 1649 - 1639: Gift (Part 3)
"Who says he doesn’t..." Bo Yan peeled a sweet potato and stuffed it into Han Yifan’s mouth, his face unflinching, calmly stating, "You haven’t tried the sweet potato yet, this one’s pretty good."
Han Yifan "mmm-mmm’d" a couple of times, but in the end didn’t spit it out, chewing it a few times in his mouth.
Only then did Bo Yan say, "We were young back then, didn’t know our limits, a lot of people drank too much."
With a single sentence, he lightly brushed over Han Yifan’s previous comment about drinking.
Fortunately, at this time Xia Siyu had downed a can of beer and was a bit tipsy, so she didn’t continue to press.
But as they were about to leave, Bo Yan stopped the two of them: "Please pay the bill."
"Bo Yan, do you have the nerve? We’ve been friends for so many years, and you won’t even treat us to a meal that costs a few dozen bucks?" Han Yifan laughed and cursed as he changed the subject. He had just calculated with Shang Feifei, if this meal cost seventy, they wouldn’t have enough money to take a taxi to the airport tomorrow.
They had come using the subway, and while the subway was fast and didn’t get stuck in traffic, it was really too much trouble to haul luggage up and down and transfer lines. If possible, of course, they’d prefer to save enough money for a taxi ride straight to the airport.
Bo Yan smiled slightly, "Thanks, seventy."
"Bo Yan, you’re so unreasonable. You previously tricked that Romane-Conti out of me, and I didn’t say anything. Now we’re eating away seventy dollars, and you’re being stingy." Han Yifan, of course, knew that Bo Yan wasn’t a petty person, but the program’s rules were too strict, and they could only scrape together money to get to the airport from these three hundred.
Bo Yan smiled gently, "Okay, seventy."
"Forget it, I’ll pay." Shang Feifei was too lazy to argue further. She knew that the bickering between Bo Yan and Han Yifan counted as "part of the show." Didn’t you see how Xia Siyu got roasted for playing the "clown" role, lazing around and not picking up her companions, sleeping in instead of working?
But after being criticized a lot, she made lemonade, washed dishes, and took out the trash, and suddenly her reputation improved. Directors of these dating shows set up big-picture scenarios but don’t constrain the guests. Whether you get popular is up to the guests themselves.
Han Yifan was previously known for his silly antics and easy-going nature, and the audience liked him after the show aired. But viewers were already familiar with him, so repeating the same tricks might not have the same effect. But with Bo Yan and Xia Siyu, they made an interesting mix with Bo being quiet and Siyu being hyperactive. Plus, he and Han Yifan knew each other, so together they could create unexpected sparks.
After the success of the previous show, some companies wanted to sign Han Yifan for acting or advertisements. He turned them all down. The only ad he agreed to was shot with Shang Feifei. He knew himself well—acting wasn’t his thing. He was best suited to staying behind the scenes and handling logistics.
Shang Feifei paid, and Han Yifan said nothing more. But he still asked, "Will you have enough money to cab to the airport?"
Bo Yan shook his head, "No."
Han Yifan chuckled, "Then let’s take the airport bus together."
Taking the subway was out of the question, he resolutely refused. Even if he could manage alone, squeezing with Shang Feifei on the subway, rushing for a flight with luggage, was an experience he only wanted once.
Bo Yan laughed and said, "Actually, I have another method. If you trust me and give me all your money, I promise you’ll get to the airport comfortably."
Han Yifan jumped, "Are you trying to fool kids here? Take all our remaining money, and are we supposed to walk there?"
Bo Yan spread his hands, "If you don’t trust me, then that’s fine. By the way, what time is your flight?"
Han Yifan replied, "Eleven thirty, but Fei’er and I are on different flights, though we’ll both get to the airport around the same time."
Bo Yan nodded, "That’s good. Then let’s meet at the airport bus stop at nine."
Han Yifan spat, "Who wants to leave with you guys? We’ll take the next bus."
Bo Yan looked calm, "That’s no problem. Just a friendly reminder, the airport shuttle comes hourly. If you take the next one, you’ll get on at ten. The shuttle to the airport takes about an hour. Of course, if you want to take an earlier one, that’s fine too."
Han Yifan was speechless, and Shang Feifei asked, "Do you really have a way for us to get there comfortably?"
Bo Yan laughed, "Definitely more comfortable than a shuttle, subway, or bus."
Shang Feifei glanced at Han Yifan, who nodded and handed the remaining money to Bo Yan. After giving it, he said to the camera, "Look, don’t cut this part. If Bo Yan runs off with our money tomorrow morning, make sure to keep this footage, it’s our tearful accusation!"
After saying this, he asked, "What’s the plan?"
Bo Yan smiled again, "Secret."
When the two left, Xia Siyu watched them go and said, "If all else fails, should we make a run for it first?"
After getting the last of their money, they finally had a bit over two hundred. Enough for a taxi to the airport. But with more people, it wouldn’t be enough.
If four people shared a cab, there was enough room, but not for their luggage. Since they’re all celebrities, the trunk of an average taxi wouldn’t fit five or six large suitcases. It didn’t work no matter how you looked at it.
Bo Yan smiled at her, "What’s on your mind? Don’t worry."
Although Xia Siyu didn’t know what to do, since Bo Yan said not to worry, she actually felt more at ease.
"Time to pack up." They had eaten in their little courtyard, and although Han Yifan and the others helped clean a bit, the used plates, and the kitchen needed tidying up.
Washing dishes was left to Xia Siyu. Though she might end up breaking a few bowls and plates, it counted as work at least.
Once everything was tidied up, Bo Yan asked, "Do we want breakfast tomorrow morning?"
The show organizers were ruthless this time, not even leaving any sponsored oatmeal or yogurt. Siyu thought about breakfast but didn’t want to queue, so after a long while, she said, "Let’s just go to the airport."
She said going to the airport, not to sleep in, but because she was out of money. Once at the airport, they would meet Wei Jingjing and others, and then she’d have money. After security, she could eat whatever she wanted. Even if Wei Jingjing controlled her diet, it was better than not having enough money to buy anything.
Bo Yan saw through it but didn’t expose it. They organized the room, tidied up, and washed up again.
Bo Yan was internally delighted, but kept a serious face, "We’ll have to rely on you tonight again."
"It’s no trouble, but..." Xia Siyu stopped mid-sentence, and once they were both in bed, she turned off all the microphones and set the camera to silent mode.
