The Billionaire Can't Escape His Shameless Heiress Wife!-Chapter 17: Have Someone
Ten million wasn’t a large sum of money. But it would still help with her husband’s new company.
Besides, the money came from Isabella’s annual allowance, which had accumulated over the years.
They could still take money from their funds to cover the missing two million. But that was the problem.
Their personal funds were tied to the Harrington family. Once they noticed that the money inside it had been moved, Bard would be in hot water.
As for moving the money from Vanessa’s account... There was only a little of it left. When Bard established his company, most of it was spent there. Three million was left behind. They can’t even touch it unrestrained because the lawyer Lorenzo hired to handle the will would occasionally check if the bank account was used up.
If he saw the bank account was drained, the lawyer would become suspicious and fly to the country to check.
That won’t do because by the time he came to check, he would find out that the bank account they gave him turned out to be their daughter’s, not Isabella’s!
Torn yet had no choice but to swallow the needles stuck in her throat, Carla could only agree to the amount. She would explain to her husband. They could worry about the missing two million later.
Maybe she could turn to her brother and ask to borrow the money from him.
Even though the thought of asking that man repulsed her, it was her last resort.
Once the transaction was done and settled, Carla didn’t remain in the store.
She quickly ran off as if hounds were chasing her tail.
Back in the private room, Isabella heard a chime sounding from somewhere. When she turned, she saw it came from Julienne’s side.
Julienne didn’t say anything as he looked over at his screen, reading something on it. His expression turned sour before he ended up sighing.
Then, he typed a few times before he said, "I’ll send you the two million I got from that transaction."
Isabella opened her mouth to reject it, but her phone made a noise.
As expected, when she looked down, Julienne had sent her the money.
"I’ll send it back."
"Tsk, are you refusing allowance money from your brother?" Julienne glared through the screen.
"No, but I—"
"Don’t speak anymore, just take it." Julienne dismissed her before she could finish. "Besides, I’ll be gone for a few weeks."
Isabella froze. "What happened?"
"It’s my father. He set me up on blind dates again."
Julienne’s family was separated. His father remarried after his divorce from his mother. Meanwhile, his mother had remained single but had several lovers over the years. But due to his parents’ separation, Julienne, being their only son, had to prepare to take over his parents’ businesses.
He didn’t want the strict and prison-like lifestyle his parents wanted for him. He was carefree and easy-going. Why must he follow in their footsteps?
That was why, even though he loved making jewelry, he stepped back as soon as his father showed interest in his talent.
Moreover, the sick obsession with prolonging the bloodlines had disgusted him so much that he ran away.
His mother usually didn’t force him, but that didn’t mean his father wouldn’t try to.
"He found you?" Isabella frowned.
Julienne messily ran his fingers through his hair. "Yeah. Someone ran through my ID. Somehow, it triggered the tracks my father was looking for. Now, I have to move away for a short time."
A sharp glint appeared in her eyes. "I’ll take care of it. I just need to use your computer and remove the traces you left behind."
Isabella learned some coding and hacking skills to aid in her disguise. Otherwise, even with the mask she wore all the time, traces of her disguise would still be discovered.
It was only due to the knowledge she found in books and videos that she was able to learn a bit of hacking skills.
Julienne smiled at that, shaking his head. "It’s fine. I have to face my father sooner or later, anyway. What I’m worried about is you... You won’t have anyone in this country."
This was the truth that Julienne didn’t want to admit or say to Isabella. But they both knew that they couldn’t deny it.
The moment Isabella had grown, everyone close to her had been removed, paid for, or replaced. The Harrington family didn’t allow anyone smart to feed some truths to Isabella.
They wanted to cripple her and never think of soaring from where they stationed her.
Being watched, controlled, and moved like a puppet, it was a life worse than death. Though it didn’t kill her, and it let her survive and become stronger... Isabella was the only one person.
Only Julienne, who risked and also needed a hiding spot, appeared before her.
And because of his help, she was able to do things without ripping off her mask.
Just like now.
But this would end today.
Julienne has to leave. He will return, but it will take some time.
Only when his father stopped looking for him could he return.
Julienne wasn’t just worried that she didn’t have anyone who could help her. What he was most worried about was her violent thoughts surfacing again.
Those were days he didn’t want a repeat.
He had to make sure she was completely safe from harm. From others... and from herself.
"I’ll find someone I can send to help you. I can’t leave you alone here."
"I’m not alone," she interjected suddenly.
"Ah?"
Julienne focused on her from the screen.
"I have someone."
A smile suddenly bloomed on her lips, so beautiful it looked like fireworks across the sky.
Her eyes were no longer on the screen where Julienne was. Instead, it returned to where the screen Carla was previously shown.
There, a man in a dark shirt and light trousers entered the store.
Tap.
Tack.
The soft thud of his cane hitting the floor.
