The Billionaire's Hidden Affection-Chapter 564 - 561 Time’s Up 3_1
Zhou Xiaoxuan exclaimed, "Why? Xiaojue put up the initial capital, so they’re just going to return the principal? That’s not acceptable! Aunt Huang, you must stand up for Xiaojue. You can’t just let them get off that easy."
Mother Huang hesitated slightly.
"Aunt Huang, why are you being so soft-hearted? They’ve already broken up. Once you break up, you become enemies. Why are you still considering their side? Everyone knows that in business, capital is the most important thing. It’s unreasonable for your son to put up the capital, and then once they’re profitable, they just return the principal and kick him out. Isn’t that like kicking him to the curb now that he’s served his purpose? That woman, Yan Xixi, is using your son as a stepping stone to get ahead!" 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞
Zhou Xiaoxuan was fuming, both angry and jealous. However, she had no way to cause trouble for Yan Xixi and Xu Xiaoya, so she did her best to incite Mother Huang.
If Yan Xixi hadn’t been driving that Mercedes, it might have been one thing, but seeing her in it truly ignited Zhou Xiaoxuan’s fury. She was the classic type to be infuriated by what others had, and to laugh at those who had nothing.
"You must consider your son. If not, who will? At the very least, they should let Xiaojue keep his shares. If they make a profit, they must give a portion to Xiaojue annually..."
Mother Huang was very conflicted. "Let’s just let it be. Otherwise, Xiaojue will blame me again."
"Xiaojue used to blame you, but why would he now? He has Zhou Ting now. Isn’t Zhou Ting ten thousand times better than Yan Xixi?"
"This... let’s just forget it... to avoid further entanglements."
The two cars sped off in opposite directions: the red sports car to the south, the white Mercedes to the north.
Only then did Huang Xiaojue slowly emerge from the shadows.
He had visited this place countless times, both before and after the shop opened. But he hadn’t been back in a long time.
When he saw the white Mercedes speed away, the wind lifting the black hair of the woman inside, he squeezed his eyes shut and leaned heavily against a roadside tree.
She hadn’t seen him. In fact, she didn’t care anymore. Ever since seeing him and Zhou Ting at the mall, she hadn’t cared about anything. She didn’t even seem to be in pain—she and Xu Xiaoya had just driven off, hooting with laughter. In his entire life, he had never seen her so carefree, as if the sky could fall and she wouldn’t bat an eye. Xu Xiaoya had been right. "Leaving your son has completely liberated Yan Xixi," she’d said. "Is he all that great? We have hands and feet; we can earn our own money too."
When Father Huang came through the door, he was surprised to see his son sitting alone in the living room. "Xiaojue, it’s not the weekend. Why are you home? Are you hungry? I can go make some food."
"No need, Dad. I’m treating you guys to dinner tonight. We can go when Mom gets home."
Father Huang sat down, smiling. He noted his son’s improved spirits lately; although Huang Xiaojue had lost some weight recently, he no longer had that listless and dejected air about him.
"You’re busy with work; you don’t need to keep worrying about us."
Huang Xiaojue was very patient. "I have to go on a business trip tomorrow. I’ll probably be gone for a while, so I came back to see you both first."
Just then, Huang Xiaojue’s phone rang. It was his mother. "Son, are you free? How about coming home for dinner with Zhou Ting on Friday evening?"
He replied patiently, "Mom, I’m at home right now. You should come back soon."
After hanging up, he looked at Father Huang.
Father Huang looked a bit sheepish. "Your mother just gets carried away in front of people. She’s completely obsessed now, passionately inviting Zhou Ting over for dinner every day. Isn’t that ridiculous? Zhou Ting is indeed an excellent girl, but she’s out of our league. The Zhou Family isn’t one we can aspire to."
After the fight last time, Father Huang had become much stricter in managing Mother Huang.
