The Broken Angel & Her Overprotective Brothers-Chapter 325: A Vampire Born
"So... you are a vampire born?" Emily asked the obvious as she looked at Sera who just nodded her head with a tight smile on her lips. The girl was too fragile to be a vampire, in any case, at least that was the first thought that came into her mind.
"No, no, you missed the main point, Emy." Shane quickly chimed in when he noticed the mistake in Emily’s chosen words and tried to correct her. "She’s the first and only vampire born in this world which makes her really special and important."
A small smile appeared on Emily’s lips but it had nothing to do with humor. She wanted to say it out loud for both her friend and his mate to hear - being special and important in the supernatural world was more of a bad omen instead of a good one, she knew it better than anyone else.
Still, the words that she really spoke out loud a moment later had nothing to do with her real thoughts. "So, she’s the first and only vampire born in this world and someone who is protected by the entire vampire race, and since both your families are meeting, it means a meeting between - vampires and werewolves."
Shane clapped his hands together as he spoke, "You finally got it! In this family meeting, a lot of vampires are gonna come which means a lot of people on my side too because we can’t let them outnumber us..." He spared a quick look at Lyle as he spoke the next sentence, "... we might be living in peace right now but everyone knows that our races are no friends. Things could change just in a blink."
"And you want our resort for that possible bloodbath. Great!" Emily didn’t miss the perfect chance to add sarcasm to the situation.
"Emy!"
"Fine, fine. I know it’s not what you mean and I can even see why you didn’t choose one of Kaiden’s hotels or resorts. The vampires definitely wouldn’t have liked the idea of that." She summarized the situation with little nods of her head before she asked, "Is Kaiden going to join this meeting?"
"He and Rylan are my only family, to begin with. If not them then who’s gonna portray as my family?" Shane’s voice was more on the proud side instead of the sad. He loved being a part of the Sullivans and he was proud of his identity. "And most importantly, I would love to have you there too."
"Me?" Emily asked in surprise.
"Of course! You are my only other family except for Kaiden and Rylan. Your presence matter to me no less than either of those two’s." The way Shane spoke made it clear that he meant every single word that he just spoke.
She was about to speak but was stopped when Shadow took the chance to reply instead of her - "She won’t be able to."
"Why?"
"Why?"
Both Emily and Shane asked at the same time and it made them exchange a glance that assured they both were on the same side in this case.
"Because you have to train. Your master is the Fae King, someone with a lot of work piling up in his schedule and a lot of responsibilities on his shoulders. Still, he makes time to train you every day without asking for anything in exchange. Don’t take it for granted." Shadow didn’t show any mercy at all as he answered their questions.
Emily and Shane shared another look but it was pretty clear that they were defeated and had nothing to say in response. What were they supposed to say when Shadow had even involved her being ungrateful toward his and the Fae King’s hard work?
"It’s alright, Emy. This is just a family meeting, not like I’m getting engaged or married. Besides, you will only get bored between so many strangers." Shane tried to brighten her up when he noticed the unhappy look on her face.
And even though Emily wasn’t really feeling any motivated, she still muster up a bright smile to assure her friend. "Alright! That’s settled then, I will discuss this matter with my brothers tonight and inform you tomorrow. I’m sure they won’t deny helping you out."
The mood lightened after that as they talked for a little bit more, enjoying the cupcakes that they all had ordered. This time, Emily made sure to pull Sera into the conversation and her strategy worked as the young woman finally relaxed and chatted with a bright smile on her pale face.
Around half an hour later, they finally stepped out of the cafe and headed in separate directions after a promise to get together soon after the family meeting. 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎

Miles and miles away from city A, the dark forces that had been fighting to get their hands on Emily for years by now were growing stronger as they planned for an ultimate battle, one that would give them what they seek.
"Master, our spies in City A have sent us a message. The girl is taking training lessons from some mysterious party. Do you want us to..." The guard trailed off when the said master raised his hand in a ’stop’ signal.
"Why should we stop them when they are actually helping us? We can’t be that foolish, now can we?" The man hiding in the darkness spoke in a tone that made it sound like he was in a really happy mood.
"Pardon, My lord, but I’m unable to grasp the meaning. How can her training be of any good to us or our plan? Won’t it only make it harder for us to get her if she becomes powerful?" The guard dared to ask knowing he would get an answer from the lord considering the latter’s good mood.
"The girl isn’t a problem at all. I know exactly how to handle her no matter how powerful she becomes. There’s a part of her hidden past that would come in handy to get her to cooperate with us. The real troubles are those protecting her and our fight would be against them when the time will come." The Master spoke from the shadows and he sounded really confident about his plan.
"As for her training - they are actually helping us by making her learn how to wield her powers. If she learned how to use her true powers properly, it will save us from a lot of trouble. That’s why we should let them enjoy a few more months of peace. Let them believe that we are laying low and... we will strike them when they will be least expecting us to do so."
