The CEO's Wife Is a Medical Master-Chapter 30: Teenage Rebellion
"She’s been skipping class for a week! According to school regulations, expel her!"
"Yeah, expel her!"
Juliana Taylor then noticed Vera Xavier standing at the very back, her brow furrowing slightly. As a veteran teacher who had taught countless classes, she’d never encountered a student like Vera Xavier—someone who not only scored zero on every test but also managed to perfectly avoid every correct answer on the multiple-choice questions.
Vera Xavier said in a clear voice, "I didn’t come to school last week because I took approved leave. I wasn’t skipping class."
Juliana Taylor hesitated for a moment, then said, "Vera Xavier, come to my office!"
Vera Xavier nodded and followed her out. In her previous life, she didn’t know much about Juliana Taylor, only that she was a strict, veteran teacher who cared deeply for her students.
It was class time, so the teachers’ office was completely empty. Juliana Taylor got straight to the point, "Vera Xavier, your grades are the worst I’ve ever seen in my entire teaching career, bar none. Based on my years of experience, there’s no point in you continuing your studies here."
Vera Xavier looked at Juliana Taylor and said, "Let me be honest with you. My grades aren’t as bad as you think. I’ve been scoring zero on purpose."
Juliana Taylor was a little surprised to see this side of Vera Xavier. In her memory, Vera was someone who kept her head down when she spoke, not daring to look anyone in the eye. Today, the way she held her head high, it was like she was a completely different person.
Juliana Taylor’s brows knitted together. "And why should I believe you?"
"I had to take a test when I transferred here, and my scores weren’t bad back then. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have gotten into this high school in the first place," Vera said softly. "There’s a placement test this weekend. You’ll see my real scores then, Mr. Taylor."
Juliana Taylor stared at her, her gaze full of scrutiny. Vera continued, "Anyway, it’s only a few days away. Just consider it my last chance. If I bomb the test again, it won’t be too late to expel me then."
Juliana Taylor asked her, "If that’s the case, then give me a reason why you were always scoring zero before."
"Just chalk it up to my rebellious phase!" Vera said with a grin.
Juliana Taylor was taken aback for a second. Vera then said seriously, "I promise, my rebellious phase is over. From now on, I’ll take responsibility for my own life, and I absolutely will not disappoint you, Mr. Taylor!"
Juliana Taylor looked at her with a complicated expression, but in the end, she said nothing. She just waved her hand, gesturing for her to leave.
As soon as Vera Xavier left, Principal Gage came in. "I hear Vera Xavier came back to school today?"
Juliana Taylor sighed. "She sure did. The moment she returned, the entire class was up in arms. But she was on approved leave before, and she’s usually well-behaved at school. Her grades might be a bit poor, but we can’t just expel her over this."
Principal Gage sighed as well. "I don’t know what’s gotten into that child. She did fine on her entrance exam, but as soon as classes officially started, her grades plummeted." 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖
If the entrance exam hadn’t been so strict, Principal Gage would have suspected Vera Xavier of cheating.
Principal Gage wasn’t the only one who thought so; other teachers and students felt the same way.
When Vera Xavier reached the classroom door, she saw the entire class staring at her, their eyes filled with unconcealed excitement. Her eyes darted around, and just then, the English teacher walked over. She greeted him properly, "Good morning, Mr. Zhou!"
