A white flame appeared in his right hand, and his left... darkness emerged.

With a smirk on his face, he took a step forward, showing how little he cared about Fleur's mana affinity.
"I-Is that... dual affinity?" someone shouted in excitement.
"That's so rare! Isn't there one chance out of one million for that to happen?"
"Yes, but what's crazier is that his double affinities are Life and Death. They are the rarest affinities one can obtain! The son of the Demon King is not weak at all! He's even stronger than Fleur right now!"
Everyone started losing their minds as they realized that Caliste was, in fact, not weak at all. It was the complete opposite. He was powerful—extremely powerful. There was nothing that Fleur could do to deal with him, and she quickly realized that fact.
'Even with my mana affinity, I can't defeat him...' She shook her head, unable to believe that this was the situation she had found herself in. 'How didn't I feel his mana affinity... we have the same one! I should have known back in Ciel that something was strange...'
Fleur was more disappointed in herself than anything else. She had completely underestimated her opponent, something she had not done for a long time.
However, she had just been frustrated with Caliste and the things he had said. She simply couldn't forgive him because of the words he used against her family.
He needed to be taught a lesson. But the complete opposite happened—she was getting destroyed.
The death energy that had begun to coat her body slowly dissipated as she lost all hope of winning.
She hadn't even completed her first three strikes when her shoulders slumped.
She raised both her hands in the air, looking down at the ground.
"I-I..." She took a deep breath. "I give up. You win."
Then, silence began to surface.
No one said a word.
None of them moved.
They were all shocked by what they had just witnessed.
Fleur had completely dominated the Entrance Test, and she had just been destroyed by the Demon King's son, someone whom many thought was a weak person with connections.
They all thought that the only reason he was here was because of his father, but that was far from the truth.
Caliste was satisfied with the win as he smiled brightly, clenching both of his fists. He had just accomplished his first objective: to show that he wasn't someone who could be trifled with.
After acknowledging the victory, Caliste moved on to his next objective, which was to become friends with Fleur.
Her strength was a force to be reckoned with, and Caliste knew that having her on his team would make things a lot easier for him.
He began walking in her direction as whispers started to resurface.
"Is he not going to accept her forfeit?"
"Don't tell me... is he going to kick her while she's already down?"
However, the complete opposite happened as Caliste approached Fleur, who was now on her knees, looking at the ground.
She almost looked like her soul had left her body, depressed by the loss.
There were even small tears dropping from her face, wetting the ground.
Caliste approached her, causing her to look up slightly.
She didn't say anything, waiting for his next action. And what happened next completely shocked all of her expectations.
He showed her his hand. "This was a great fight. You did very well."
Fleur shook her head, not yet grabbing his hand.
"How was this a close fight? I never had a chance from the beginning."
Caliste shook his head. "You're probably the strongest person I have seen at this age. I'm just a little more special than you... that's all."
Fleur felt annoyed at those words. However, she knew they were the truth. While she could not defeat him, she had been able to annihilate everyone else her age.
She thought for some time as Caliste did not remove his hand, waiting for her to grab it.
"I'm sorry for what I said earlier," Fleur apologized.
Caliste just shrugged.
'You were manipulated by others. It's not your fault...' he thought in the back of his mind.
He knew that if people knew what had actually happened, then they would not have the same opinion about his past self. They would think of him as a hero. However, they hid and changed things.
'I'll just have to show you the truth... one way or another.'
However, for that, Caliste needed to be sure of one thing: that he could trust Fleur. And he also needed her to trust him.
After all, even if Caliste told the world what really happened 100 years ago, no one would care, and no one would believe him.
They would just think that he was some mad lad with strange delusions.
He needed to gain people's trust before saying outrageous things.
Fleur then grabbed Caliste's hand and smiled at him. As she got up, she whispered in his ear, "Thank you for not humiliating me further... if you wanted to, you could have destroyed my reputation. So, truly... thank you."
Caliste was just happy that Fleur was no longer absolutely hating him. It was already a good start.
"If you want, we can meet up after school and train together. I'm sure it could help the two of us."
Caliste also whispered that, as he didn't really want those around to hear.
Fleur looked at him strangely, even frowning. She thought that Caliste hated her, but now he was proposing to train with her.
'Did I misjudge him?'
She hesitated before finally saying, "Maybe..."
"What the hell happened here!" A loud, annoyed voice echoed throughout the entire Demonic Academy. "Who caused all this trouble!"
Everyone who was standing around in the circle immediately pointed to the two people at its center.
Caliste and Fleur.
It seemed that there would be some consequences after all.
