The Fallen Hero Reincarnates as the Demon King's Son-Chapter 7 - 6 - Preparations
Chapter 7 - 6 - Preparations
A day had passed, and ever since the training, Caliste had not seen either Aleia or Ava. They had completely disappeared, and for the first time since he had reincarnated in this body, Caliste had slept completely alone without any beautiful demoness by his side.
He found it strange since he also didn't get his midnight "drink" with either of them.
'I wonder where they disappeared to.'
Caliste also did not dare to ask any of the maids. After all, most of them were disrespectful toward Ava and Aleia.
For some reason, their family seemed somewhat hated by others, which was strange since they were all demons.
'Something must have likely happened in the past.'
Another strange thing was that the castle was almost empty. The Demon King was nowhere to be seen, and only a few maids lived in and took care of it.
There had only been one time when another demon showed up, but it was five years ago, and he left within a day after talking to Ava.
'Hm... maybe now would be the best time to fix my problem?' Caliste thought as both his mother and sister were nowhere to be seen.
They had gone to run errands, from the looks of it.
'What should I do?' Caliste thought, still hesitating, as he closed the door to his room.
After all, the technique he planned on using required the use of heavenly energy, something that was the complete opposite of demonic energy. It was also completely separate from mana.
The moment he tried using it, maids would come rushing to his room, thinking that they were being attacked.
It was now or never. Caliste knew.
He took a deep breath and made his decision, calming himself down.
Mana was essential. He needed to fix this problem before the awakening of his mana affinity.

'Let's do it.'
Caliste closed his eyes.
'Heavens, please answer my call.'
It was the first time Caliste would be using this technique in a demon's body. However, he didn't see why this technique would fail. After all, he had never encountered any problems in the past when using it.
Usually, when asking for help from the Heavens, they responded by giving one a bit of energy.
[The Heavens cannot heed your call. They have given you everything they had left, trusting that you would save the world from evil.]
Caliste's eyes widened.
'They gave me everything?'
Caliste couldn't help but start laughing, especially since he had no plans of going against the Demon King. He just wanted to enjoy this new life of his.
Saving the world was no longer something Caliste was interested in.
Instead, he just wanted to take revenge on everyone who had wronged him in the past.
That was all he cared about. Nothing more, nothing less.
All those traitorous snakes needed to suffer.
And Caliste would make sure that each of them would suffer their fair share. He would do anything in his power to destroy them as soon as he became powerful enough.
Stealing their women, torturing them—nothing was off the table.
'Just you wait. I'll be coming for each of you.'
However, even then, Caliste couldn't help but frown.
His original plan had completely failed, and he had little idea how he would deal with his curse now that the heavens could no longer help him.
The system they had granted him was amazing. But... it couldn't get rid of his curse.
Even in his past life, corrupted mana circuits had been something without a cure. That's why, right now, Caliste was currently seeing things in a pretty pessimistic way.
'Will I really be stuck with this curse all my life? Unable to become powerful enough to take my revenge? Unable to get rid of this useless erectile dysfunction...'
Caliste shook his head, simply thinking about it.
It was absolutely tragic, and it was starting to annoy him greatly.
-Knock!
"Can I enter?"
It was a voice that Caliste had never heard before. It didn't belong to either his mother or Aleia.
"Who is it?"
"The maid in charge of taking care of the Demon King's Castle."
Caliste frowned.
In over ten years, she had never even tried to talk to him once.
"What's happening?"
"You need to change. Someone very important is coming to our estate. The master of all demons, the Demon King, is coming in person to meet you. Your mother and sister went to see him yesterday, and it seems they convinced him."
Caliste's eyes widened completely.
'They went to the Demon King?! What the hell is happening?'
Caliste had no idea what was happening. For more than ten years, his mother and Aleia had made sure to never talk about him, and they had never wanted Caliste to learn more about him.
But all of a sudden, they had gone to see him?
It made no sense.
It also happened right after the training session Caliste had with Aleia.
Something had definitely happened, and it was bound to be related to something Aleia had noticed.
"Please let me in. You need to be presentable once he arrives."
Caliste let her in as she had a bunch of clothes in her hands.
Within minutes, she had given Caliste a complete transformation. He now looked perfect and more handsome than ever.
Caliste looked at himself in the mirror.
'I wonder what Ava and Aleia will think once they see me like this.'
"Young master, it's time for you to head to the throne. They should arrive soon."
Caliste quickly left the room and headed for the throne room.
While he didn't mind seeing the Demon King, he was still worried that he would notice something different about him.
After all, the Demon King was not someone that anyone could take lightly. He was the most powerful being in the entire world.
There was a reason Caliste needed multiple people to help him defeat the Demon King.
A few moments later, Caliste arrived in the throne room, which was completely different from before, with all kinds of decorations scattered around.
