The Grand Duke's Son Is A Heretic-Chapter 154:Alas!The Drama Had Come To An End
Chapter 154: 154:Alas!The Drama Had Come To An End
The cold air was filled with thunderous roars and ice cracking beneath the weight of two giants. In the distance, the Ice Dragon and the Ice Titan were still locked in a brutal fight. The dragon’s icy wings swept across the ceiling, slamming into the titan’s thick arms. Each strike created waves of frost and shook the frozen land.
The Ice Dragon which slowed down previously suddenly went crazy.
People below, soldiers and mages who once marched proudly with the Fangs, were now trying to run.
Some screamed, some stumbled. Others just dropped to their knees, praying. The battle had spiraled into chaos, and most realized they were only seconds from death. Huge chunks of ice fell from above.
Frost storms howled through broken cliffs. No one had the strength to fight anymore—only to survive.
Amid this chaos, Lyria lifted Kael onto her shoulder. Her expression was blank, but her movements were calm, serious. Her eyes had no panic, only resolve.
Behind her, Handel watched closely. His eyes narrowed. His hand gripped his sword tightly, and his fingers twitched. He stepped forward.
His eyes flashed with a dark light. The wind blew his cloak, but he didn’t flinch. His heart raced, but his expression stayed cold. With a trembling hand, he took aim. Then—he moved swiftly leaving behind a blur.
The sword cut through the air.
He tried to pierce right through Kael, stabbing him by going through Lyria.
But just before the sword struck, Lyria’s body reacted. She shoved Kael to the side. The blade plunged deep into her back.
"You..." she breathed out and turned her head.
"Still... she didn’t let go of Kael.
"You... traitor," she hissed, voice hoarse.
"Sorry, it’s the call of circumstances."
Before Handel could react, her leg shot out.
He raised his hand to block, not worried. He didn’t think her kick would do anything. He even smiled a little.
But the moment her foot connected with his arm—
BOOM!
A wave of force burst out. A shock tore through Handel’s body. He was blasted backwards like a cannonball, crashing into a frozen boulder.
Crack!
Ice shattered under his weight. He groaned, trying to catch his breath.
Lyria dropped to one knee. One hand held her bleeding wound, the other still holding onto Kael tightly. Blood ran down her side, staining the white snow below.
But instead of groaning in pain, her eyes burned like fire.
There was no fear, no weakness but only rage.
Handel dragged his foot along the ground to stop himself. His sword scraped the ice. His hands trembled.
"You... Wh-Why are you so strong?" he muttered, looking up.
Lyria slowly stood up. Her breath was heavy, but her body was steady. She clutched Kael tighter on her shoulder.
Behind her, the Ice Dragon shrieked and tore into the Titan’s neck. The titan roared in pain and swung its fist, slamming into a mountain peak and shattering it. The ground shook. Lightning-like cracks spread through the battlefield. Escaping soldiers looked up and screamed again, fearing the mountain would collapse.
But Lyria didn’t flinch.
Handel’s eyes lit up with rage. He roared.
He lifted his sword high and called upon all his strength.
The ground beneath him cracked. A quake rolled out from his feet.
"DIE!"
He slashed with all his power.
BOOOOOOOM!
A wave of destruction exploded from the slash. Ice shattered. The air ripped apart. Soldiers nearby were flung like ragdolls, thrown hundreds of feet into the air. Several Fangs who had just begun to flee were blown back, slamming into rocks and ice walls. Blood splattered the snow.
In the middle of this chaos, a figure stood.
Handel’s eyes widened in disbelief.
Through the smoke, Lyria walked forward. Her hand had caught the sword with bare fingers.
"What the hell—" Handel stepped back. "How can she... grab my sword with her hands?!"
Lyria’s eyes began to glow—deep crimson. Her hair lifted and danced in the air like a storm. A deadly pressure burst from her body. It felt cold and suffocating.
She didn’t say a word.
Handel froze. His legs felt weak.
"You... Just what rank are you?" he tried to ask. frёeωebɳovel.com
But before he could finish, Lyria vanished from sight.
BOOM!
She appeared right in front of him like a missile.
Her palm slammed into his gut.
"BLURRGH!"
His face twisted. Blood sprayed from his mouth. His stomach turned. He was launched into the air, slammed through an ice crystal, and dragged across the frozen ground for meters, crashing and rolling with brutal force.
He coughed violently. Blood choked him as he tried to crawl up.
But before he could even lift his body—
THUD!
Lyria’s foot crashed down where he had been just moments ago. The shockwave from the impact tore the ground apart. Cracks spread like spiderwebs. Ice chunks flew into the air. Dust and snow flew wildly.
Handel barely dodged it in time. He jumped back, slipping.
"Enough!" he shouted, and dashed—not at Lyria—but at Kael.
He thought if he killed Kael, the fight would end.
But Lyria was faster. Again, she grabbed the blade mid-swing. Her fingers clenched the sharp edge. Blood trickled from her palm.
But she didn’t let go.
"What... what is wrong with her?" Handel panicked inside.
But something changed.
Lyria’s glowing crimson eyes faded. The glow disappeared. Her hair fell back down. Her expression shifted.
She looked... confused.
"Huh?" she muttered, glancing at her hand gripping the sword.
She looked up at Handel. He had dropped his sword. Fear was in his eyes.
But she didn’t attack. She just stood there breathing heavily.
A deep Silence prevailed.
She looked around, her gaze cautious, almost scared.
"What... just now, what happened to me?" she whispered to herself.
Handel was just about to move when—
Clap... clap... clap...
A slow, echoing sound came from behind.
Lyria froze.
She turned her head.
Kael, the man she had carried all this time—the one who had been unconscious—was now awake.
He sat upright on her shoulder, smiling faintly.
"Now that was an interesting scene," Kael said with a smirk. "Really a good show. But alas the fine drama... it’s come to an end."
Lyria stood still, eyes wide. Her heart pounded. She didn’t know what was happening anymore.
But deep inside, something told her—
This was only the beginning.
