The Happy Farmer Wanderer-Chapter 810: Observing the Wild Mouse
Hearing the number that Li Qing casually mentioned, Qin Wenjun’s expression looked exactly like someone who had seen a ghost and was in a state of shock.
After a long pause, she suddenly murmured, "Damn, sleeping with you was definitely the wisest investment I’ve ever made, two million is too little. I want three million."
"How come you’re raising the price on the spot?" Li Qing laughed.
"Because I have a lot to do, and three million won’t hurt you, so I thought about enlarging this villa, making it more impressive. Don’t worry, the money is still yours, and the villa remains yours. I won’t take advantage by skimming off the top," Qin Wenjun said.
"I’m just kidding, if I make money and don’t let you guys spend it, who will I let spend it? Moreover, what I just mentioned was just for the initial phase, I’m ready to give you more whenever you need it. But looking at you, it seems you’ve almost finished your calculations, so I’ll directly give you five million to play around with. You guys can have the villa; I don’t want it," Li Qing said.
"Boss, you are really generous!" Qin Wenjun shook her head and exclaimed with a click of her tongue, "You mean to give it to the five of us?"
Li Qing nodded, "You guys handle the specifics, I might not have time to manage it anyway."
"So generous, so delightful!" Qin Wenjun squeezed over and laughed as she sat on Li Qing’s lap, "Boss, do you need me to serve you? You can have your way, however you want to be happy."
Li Qing turned his head to look out the window, where the villagers were still gathered.
"I would actually like that, but look at the situation, our place has almost turned into a leisure center for the middle-aged and elderly," Li Qing said, shaking his head.
Qin Wenjun’s mouth twitched, and she chuckled, "It’s really a bit of a letdown, huh? Let’s do it at home tonight, I’ll take on four for you, how about that?"
"Fantastic!" Li Qing laughed.
Qin Wenjun was really becoming more charming by the day.
"I see you’re not too busy now, how about later, we go check out those places I’ve scoped out?" Qin Wenjun suddenly said, "You can’t be a hands-off manager in everything, it’s not appropriate."
Li Qing glanced at the time on his phone and nodded. He and Guan Lin had planned to go to the town together today. 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮
But there was still time, and they could first check out the territory Qin Wenjun planned to conquer.
Qin Wenjun called Yu Lan to come over to check the convenience store first, then left the village with Li Qing, heading up the mountain path, "I was looking through local historical records before and found that there are many entries about our village. Later, I chatted casually with some of the elders in the village and realized our village indeed has many stories!"
"Have you heard about the ’Mouse Observatory’?"
Li Qing shook his head, "It’s quite strange that you, a newcomer, know more about the village than I do, who has lived here all my life. Of the three places you mentioned earlier, I know only about Burning Man Valley, which is behind the mountain. I heard it was a burial ground for soldiers in the past."
"I’ve never heard of the other places like ’Mouse Observatory’ and ’Yellow-Skin Tomb’. I thought you were making them up when you mentioned them just now."
Leading the way, Qin Wenjun climbed the uneven mountain path ahead of Li Qing.
Her buttocks, peach-like, tensed and rounded with each upward step, looked especially enticing.
"I don’t have the skill to completely make things up out of thin air, and anyway, made-up stuff doesn’t last long. These places need some historical records and rumors to make them interesting," Qin Wenjun said.
Li Qing nodded and casually pointed to a grove nearby, "This is Yu Lan’s family’s Apricot Grove. The first not-so-solemn experience I had with Wu Xingxing was here when we just met."
"Go on, tell me more. I like to hear it," Qin Wenjun turned her head and smiled inquiringly.
"Actually, there’s nothing special about it, she was just more open-minded back then, deliberately wore a short skirt, occasionally giving me a glimpse of what’s underneath her skirt, and even deliberately bumped me with her butt," Li Qing said with a laugh.
"Xingxing is really quite bold and open. A woman, if she takes a liking to someone, should actively pursue them, and finding a way, I think, is also appropriate. Someone like Yu Lan is too shy and restrained, which doesn’t work, it’s too easy to be taken advantage of," Qin Wenjun laughed heartily.
"You see the difference between her and Wu Xingxing; the latter girl is more carefree, while Yu Lan has spent several difficult years," Li Qing said.
"There’s some truth to that," Qin Wenjun admitted.
During their conversation, they meandered through the mountains.
The landscape undulated, resembling layers of piled folds, and being at the periphery of pristine jungle, the vegetation was extremely lush.
By the time they reached the fifth or sixth hollow, they could hardly see any farmlands; all that met their eyes were desolate slopes and dense trees, giving off an eerily secluded vibe.
The wasteland that Li Qing had contracted to cultivate medicinal plants was just diagonally in front, albeit closer to the foot of the mountain.
"We’re here!" Qin Wenjun suddenly said.
"This site was also mentioned by Old Tang’s dad; Old Master Tang knows a lot about these weird village stories, and he knows the exact locations too. Let’s see, it should be around here. He mentioned that you can see the bounds on the ground, and there are stone carvings of mice," she said.
Li Qing kicked a stone statue that protruded from the ground, "The thing you mentioned, couldn’t be this, could it?"
Qin Wenjun immediately squatted down, cleared the nearby weeds, and cleaned the surrounding dirt with a stick. Suddenly a lifelike mouse head was revealed, and she excitedly said, "Yes, yes, yes, exactly this! This must be the ’Guardian Statue’ of the Mouse Observatory. He said there are a total of eighty-two statues, corresponding to the ten celestial stems."
"Mouse Observatory... Why would it correspond to the ten celestial stems? That doesn’t seem right, and clearly, there are eighty-two statues, so how does that correspond to the ten celestial stems?" Li Qing asked, puzzled.
"I’m not sure about that," Qin Wenjun shook her head, "Old Master Tang said that these eighty-two represent the star map of the ten celestial stems, not the major stars. I’m not clear on the specifics."
"There isn’t much to see at Yellow-Skin Tomb and Burning Man Valley, but this place could really create quite a buzz," Qin Wenjun mentioned.
Li Qing walked around and within seven or eight steps, he spotted another statue.
"You want to use these to create a buzz and increase our village’s popularity, I think that’s fine, but have you considered one thing?" Li Qing looked up at the dense jungle above, his eyes gleaming as he suddenly said mysteriously.
"What is it?" Qin Wenjun asked.
"Maybe, there really are demons in this Mouse Observatory," Li Qing said with a smile that was not quite a smile.
