The Happy Farmer Wanderer-Chapter 812: Discussion on Wilderness Spirit Monsters
"If we could know exactly what it is saying, maybe we could fully understand the origin of the Wild Mouse Immortal’s temple. That would make our subsequent actions much easier, after all, what has been passed down by word of mouth has somewhat changed its flavor," Qin Wenjun explained.
In fact, Li Qing had thought the same, but unfortunately, he really couldn’t understand what it was saying.
Moreover, just looking at the little creature, he suddenly felt some annoyance, very restless.
"Alright then, just wait a moment. I’ll make a call to ask," Li Qing said.
He stood up, walked aside, and dialed the phone of Long Eyebrow True Person.
He seldom called his master anymore because nine out of ten times, the calls wouldn’t go through.
Anyway, most of what Long Eyebrow True Person knew, he knew too.
"Qingzi, what’s up?" Long Eyebrow True Person’s voice came through the phone, tinged with a faint smile.
Li Qing briefly explained what he wanted to ask.
Long Eyebrow True Person laughed, "You lad don’t even know this. You should read more books when you have time. These trivial matters can only be understood by reading a large number of scriptures. Your mentor certainly doesn’t have the time to teach you these things."
Li Qing muttered, "Nor does he teach me anything serious."
Long Eyebrow True Person chuckled, "This matter is very simple. You just need to use your Divine Sense to perceive it. However, doing such a thing requires guarding your own heart, as many Spirit Monsters come with a Divine Sense attack and are extremely tricky and evil."
"Is it really that simple?" Li Qing asked, somewhat surprised.
Long Eyebrow True Person laughed, "It’s not a complicated matter at all; you just didn’t know the method."
"By the way, I’ll take this opportunity to teach you a rule as well. Any mountain or wild Spirit Monster that builds temples or observatories to gather incense must be killed without mercy. It’s okay to ask them questions, but after that, you should destroy the place."
"Mountain and wild Spirit Monsters enjoy incense, and although indeed some are good, the vast majority are not good at all."
"Is that so absolute?" Li Qing asked, somewhat surprised.
When Long Eyebrow True Person mentioned killing them without mercy, he seemed to see rolling killing intent, incredibly domineering.
"It’s not absolute. They gather incense precisely for evil deeds. Think about it, if some humans still struggle with humanity, how can you expect these Spirit Monsters, who lack humanity, to possess divinity on top of humanity? They simply deceive ordinary people," Long Eyebrow True Person said.
Li Qing nodded, "Okay, I understand now. I felt somewhat averse to that little creature just now. It seemed like there was malice churning inside me, making me unable to resist the urge to kill it."
Long Eyebrow True Person chuckled, "Your constitution is naturally close to the path, so you cannot bear such dirty deeds."
Li Qing nodded, hung up the phone after speaking with Long Eyebrow True Person, and walked back over.
The rat was still squeaking incessantly. Li Qing’s Divine Sense detached and enveloped the gray rat. Akin to decoding, it took a brief moment of delay before a clear voice suddenly entered Li Qing’s ears.
The squeaking of the rat transformed into human speech, although it sounded slightly awkward.
"This immortal has been here enduring calamities for over a hundred years, spending a lifetime doing only good deeds, never bad ones. Whenever someone seeks me out, I do my utmost. Why do you want to kill me? You can’t treat a mouse like this!"
Li Qing sneered, "What did you just say you were? An immortal?"
"This immortal... Well... hey, you finally learned how to listen to me? Goodness, you almost drove me nuts." The gray mouse suddenly seemed somewhat excited and shouted, "I have always been an immortal, and this title wasn’t self-proclaimed. It was the villagers around here who called me the Wild Mouse Immortal."
Li Qing turned towards the chubby orange cat, "Da Huang, are you an immortal too?"
"This cat disdains playing such crooked tricks," the orange cat said displeasingly, "Now that you finally know how to communicate with us, please tell the ladies at home that I’m not called Da Huang, my name is Dun Lun."
"You say your name is what now?!" Li Qing’s expression suddenly turned weird.
"Dun Lun!" the orange cat said proudly, "This name was personally given to me by King Qi, who said it was very poetic and picturesque."
Li Qing couldn’t hold back and burst into laughter, slapping his thigh, "Listen to me, you should just stick to being called Da Huang."
"No, this is the name given to me by King Qi, I can’t abandon it," the orange cat said firmly.
Tears nearly swelled up in Li Qing’s eyes, "Do you know what Dun Lun means?"
The orange cat drooped its proud little eyelids and shook its head.
"Alright, not knowing I can understand, but to want to keep such a name, I’d doubt if there’s something wrong with this cat," Li Qing laughed, unable to hold back, "Dun Lun refers to the harmony between spouses, which means when you’re in heat looking for a tomcat to mate, you could technically call it Dun Lun."
The orange cat’s eyes, shimmering with a blue glow, instantly bulged into two big round spheres.
"King Qi, I curse your ancestors!"
With a roar, the orange cat suddenly pounced on the big fat mouse and started beating it furiously.
"What suddenly happened? Qingzi, could you understand what they were saying? I heard you mentioning Dun Lun? You didn’t fill Da Huang with those unhealthy notions, did you?" Qin Wenjun asked.
"I definitely wasn’t that bored," Li Qing laughed, "It’s because Da Huang’s original name is Dun Lun, and it insisted on it because it came from King Qi. I just explained it a bit, and then this chap blew up."
Qin Wenjun couldn’t help but laugh, "That King Qi is really mischievous, why would he give his pet such an awkward name!"
"Who knows? That guy is a talent, but it seems he’s not really a good person," Li Qing shook his head.
He didn’t stop Da Huang, just waited until she was tired out; then Li Qing laughed, "From now on, just be calmly called Da Huang, which truly sounds much better than Dun Lun. Although I could change your name, everyone has already gotten used to it, and I don’t see much need for that now."
"King Qi is really awful, and you as a new owner aren’t much better," the orange cat said resentfully, "What kind of lousy names are these? With so many nice names out there, why do you have to use the most mundane ones?" 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎
"Ah... you’re driving me mad!"
The orange cat roared again and charged toward the gray mouse, unleashing all its pent-up fury.
As for Li Qing, he obviously couldn’t stop it, but he just waved his hand, "By the way, help me ask how this Spirit Monster Temple came about?"
