The Happy Farmer Wanderer-Chapter 833: Temporary Rescue
Brother Hu and the others naturally couldn’t choose the former, at least not at this time, as each of them behaved more obediently than the last.
Their demeanor was practically as if they were proud to be Li Qing’s lackeys.
Li Qing looked at these people with a disdainful gaze and sneered to himself, true to form for a streamer, their skill at flattery was right on point.
After they deliberated and confirmed their choices, Li Qing brought these lackeys back to the entrance of the village.
The barbecue stand was packed with people, seemingly even more crowded than before.
The continuous stream of vehicles had even blocked the road at the village entrance, with a sea of red brake lights stretching into the distance.
This scene was something Li Qing, who had lived in the village for half his life, was seeing for the first time.
"Brother..." Brother Hu quietly called out, but after he spoke, he quickly lowered his head, not daring to say more.
Li Qing turned his head and glanced at him, "If you’ve got something to say, say it, why hold it in?"
"Brother, this... it should be a tiny, very tiny effect of our few live streams. Although we are just small streamers, today’s gimmick seems quite attractive, and it looks like it has drawn people in," Brother Hu explained.
Although Li Qing was reluctant to admit it, it seemed that this was indeed their doing.
These people must have come because of Hua Liangjun and those three scoundrels, coming to see the Cultivator.
Speaking of which, where were those three scoundrels?
Li Qing looked around, surveying the bustling barbecue stand, but he did not see any trace of them.
They had probably taken the chance to slip away.
But the influence seemed to have fully spread by now; handling this matter now wouldn’t be so easy.
"Go stay in that corner, you can start your task now," Li Qing pointed to a relatively quiet corner of the square and said. Although he wasn’t really planning to bury these scoundrels, he didn’t want to let them off so easily either.
Even though he now had some connections and power, Li Qing always dealt with these matters as a very ordinary person. He knew well that if he were still a person without any force or power like in the past, Brother Hu and his group would definitely have extorted him to bankruptcy today.
"Brother, our... our phones are broken," Brother Hu said softly.
Li Qing cast a stern glance across Brother Hu’s chubby face, "All of your phones are broken?"
"Well... not really," Brother Hu said meekly, without any confidence.
"Then get to it!" Li Qing said in a deep voice. "Also, if you don’t come up with two hundred thousand by tomorrow, that position is still yours."
"Yes, yes, yes, we will definitely get it," Brother Hu quickly nodded like a pecking chicken.
After Li Qing took their documents, he no longer gave them any attention and walked into the barbecue stand.
Today’s turnout at the barbecue stand was the busiest ever, with diners queuing up all the way to the road.
Although business at the barbecue stand had been decent since it opened, it had never been this explosive. The topic of conversation amongst the people was all about Cultivators. However, there was another piece of news that was particularly annoying to Li Qing.
Apparently, a part of the crowd was there for Jing Yan and Wu Xingxing.
This is such a pain!
Are people really this idle nowadays?
Li Qing squeezed into the barbecue stall with a somber face. Even though Han Mei had found a few women from the village to help, it still felt overwhelming, and the whole scene looked chaotic.
"Qingzi, quick, quick, I was just looking for you. We’re running out of ingredients and drinks, you need to think of something fast," Han Mei, wiping her hands on her apron, hurried over, "If we really can’t figure something out, it seems we’ll have to turn away the remaining guests."
"No worries, sister-in-law, let them wait a bit. I’ll think of something," Li Qing said.
"It’s getting late now, and it’s not easy to shop at this time. Give it a try. If it doesn’t work out, just send them to the town to eat," Han Mei said. "I’m totally confused, it’s so late. Just do your best."
Li Qing nodded, took out his phone, and thought for a moment before calling Lü Zong.
When it comes to catering emergencies, it seems Lü Zong is the only option.
As soon as the call was made, Lü Zong picked up, apparently already on his phone.
"Qingzi, your village seems to be very busy today!" Lü Zong said cheerfully over the phone.
Li Qing was stunned. "How did you get the news so quickly, Lü Zong?"
Lü Zong laughed, "I just happened to see that livestream, what’s his name, mentioning they caught two cultivators, right? When he was talking about it in the stream, I instinctively tensed up, thinking it was you, Qingzi. Such fame isn’t necessarily a good thing."
"Hey, it was because of that I kept watching, wondering if it was really you, Qingzi. I even started thinking about how to smooth this over for you. Listen to me, Qingzi, fame can be scary, and you really shouldn’t let this spread too far."
"Luckily, it was two other young guys, not you, but this time it seems your village has indeed become famous. I saw that post a few days ago, and today it’s even more blazing. Sanhe Village will become famous from now on."
Li Qing smiled, feeling somewhat sentimental.
Lü Zong, having made his way from the murky underworld, definitely sees things differently than others.
Most people would probably be overjoyed, thinking that fame means money, an absolute good thing, and a broader road in life, but Lü Zong didn’t see it that way.
"Lü Zong, let’s not talk about this for now, we really need to put out a fire here," Li Qing said. "My sister-in-law’s restaurant has never seen this many customers before. This sudden rush of fortune is too overwhelming; we’re out of ingredients and drinks." 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮
"Hey, I thought it was something serious, you scared me," laughed Lü Zong. "I’ll arrange for it right away. This is what we do, how could we run short of these things?"
"Lü Zong, thanks a lot, remember to have your people keep good account," Li Qing said.
There was sudden silence on Lü Zong’s side; after a long pause he spoke softly, "Qingzi, have you forgotten you’re the vice president? When you say things like that, it really dismays me. Are we really nickel-and-diming here? Cut the nonsense, I’ll take care of the arrangements, catering is my stronghold in Tongcheng!"
"Even though I’m the vice president, if I don’t spend my money, wouldn’t it be using the company’s resources to make my own money?" Li Qing said.
"That’s that, that’s that, you can be really frustrating sometimes," mumbled Lü Zong and then hung up the phone.
Li Qing looked at the disconnected call and grimaced, feeling it was still better to keep things clear.
After all, using public resources for private purposes isn’t a good practice.
It might not involve a lot of money, but it’s still a bad precedent.
