The Happy Farmer Wanderer-Chapter 834: Kicked the Iron Plate
Before Lü Zong’s reinforcements arrived, Li Qing first received an uninvited guest.
At the village entrance, where vehicles were packed so tightly that they could barely move, the appearance of a police car flashing red and blue lights quickly cleared the road. After a short while, Wang Baichuan and a young police officer, along with Brother Hu and others, found Li Qing.
At that time, Li Qing was busy borrowing tables in the village; the tables and chairs at his barbecue stall were seriously insufficient, so he had no choice but to borrow from others. Although he noticed the police car entering the village, he originally thought they were here to maintain order because of the commotion.
But when he saw Wang Baichuan approaching with Brother Hu and his group, he suddenly realized what was happening.
Well, what do you know, he was set up.
"Officer, it’s him, this son of a bitch!" Brother Hu, hiding behind Wang Baichuan, pointed at Li Qing, shouting with extreme emotion, "One of his waiters beat us up, broke our phones, and caused us to lose an account worth seven million. This son of a bitch not only refused to compensate us but had the audacity to beat us up too."
"Officer, look at the state we’re in; my leg has been broken by him. Moreover, what’s even more vicious is, when I regained consciousness, this son of a bitch had already dug a pit, he was actually preparing to bury us alive!"
"Officer, there’s no law left, no respect for the law at all, ready to bury us just like that! In the end, I had no choice but to say we’d pay money, become his oxen and horses, promote his livestream for free, and only then did he stop. Otherwise, we would have really been buried by him. Officer, hurry, arrest him!"
Although Brother Hu’s shouts were full of indignation, it was clear that he was still quite afraid of Li Qing.
As he spoke, he hid half of his plump body behind Wang Baichuan, not daring to come forward.
Wang Baichuan, with his arms crossed over his belly, looked at Li Qing, his head tilted and a face full of speechlessness, and said, "Qingzi, do you want to explain this a bit?"
"Explain what? This guy is blatantly talking nonsense!" Li Qing said with a bewildered face. "Do you think I could do something like that?"
Wang Baichuan snickered, "Although I know there must be a reason, this matter... you wouldn’t do it?"
"Of course I couldn’t; how could I possibly do such a thing!" Li Qing said righteously. "Let me tell you about his leg: that fatass had a loose tongue, harassing my girlfriend. My girlfriend is strong; she flipped the table with one move. My tables are all solid wood, so when hit hard, it broke."
"I already said I’d pay for his medical bills, but this son of a bitch insists his broken phones are worth seven million and is demanding money from me. Even if the phones were made of pure gold, I doubt they’d cost that much. Where could I possibly get that kind of money? Even selling myself wouldn’t fetch that price."
Wang Baichuan looked at Li Qing, his eyes commanding, then turned his head to Brother Hu, "Is that the case?"
Brother Hu’s eyes, small as mung beans, darted about nervously and chaotically.
He never expected the police officer to know Li Qing, and on top of that, they seemed quite familiar with each other.
But after thinking it over, Brother Hu felt that even if they knew each other, this officer couldn’t possibly brazenly favor Li Qing, so he puffed out his chest and said, "Officer, it’s nothing like he said; he extorted two hundred thousand from each of us, calling it life-saving money."
"Qingzi, your stories are pretty far apart!" Wang Baichuan said somewhat awkwardly to Li Qing.
"Everyone has two sides to their mouth; they just grab one and talk nonsense. At my place, what I say is the truth," Li Qing sneered and said. "However, these kids are now involved in something else. You don’t have to believe me, but this matter is actually not simple."
"What else is involved?" Wang Baichuan asked, surprised.
Li Qing smiled mysteriously, "If nothing unexpected happens, this case... might still end up being mine."
"Yours? If it’s about them, how would it get to you?" Wang Baichuan asked, frowning.
"Because these little bastards were blocking my door earlier, live streaming two little sons of turtles who came out of who knows where. Involving them, naturally, it becomes my case," Li Qing said with a smile. "I think you should let this go; it’s bound to come to me sooner or later."
"If we’re going by what you’re saying... then it must be yours," Baichuan said with a wry smile. "However, these are two separate cases. I’m currently dealing with public security, which has nothing to do with you, and this puts me in a difficult position."
"If you find it difficult, then you deal with it. My statement remains unchanged; I didn’t frame them," Li Qing responded, raising his cheek in defiance.
"But, I’m quite busy here today. Later, I’ll go to the station myself for a tea session. Take off that jacket and lend me a hand."
Baichuan was immediately at a loss for words and managed to keep a straight face as he said, "Be serious, I’m here inquiring about a case!"
"What I’m saying is serious," Li Qing responded. "You mention two cases, so I treated it as two cases. I’ll go by myself. You can stay here and help me for a bit, can’t you?"
"No!" Baichuan said, shaking his head.
"Fine, Baichuan, one of these days I’ll straighten out that stubbornness of yours," Li Qing said with resignation, shaking his head. "So what do you suggest we do? Should I go with you?"
"Yes," Baichuan nodded. "At least we need to get this situation cleared up." 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂
"Alright, but you’ll have to wait for me a bit, not too long, less than half an hour," Li Qing said.
Baichuan took off his coat and tossed it to the young policeman behind him, then smiled at Li Qing, "Should I take a moment to give you a hand then?"
"No need, I’m waiting for something," Li Qing waved him off. "It should be arriving soon."
Baichuan put his coat back on with a look of disdain, "Waste of sentiment."
"I think you’re just making an unnecessary fuss," Li Qing shook his head.
Listening to the conversation between Li Qing and Baichuan, Brother Hu and his group went pale, their expressions shifting from white to red, looking as if they had lost their dearest relatives.
Especially Brother Hu, the instigator himself, whose pudgy face almost seemed to droop to the ground.
He had hoped to turn the tables, throw around some more money, pull a few strings to try to take down Li Qing, to torture him to death.
Ideally, to have him locked up for ten or eight years, or perhaps even arrange for him to have an ’accident’ inside.
But now...
This felt like a kick against a steel plate all over again.
He was just a barbecue shop owner; how could he have such connections? And Li Qing had just mentioned something about the case ending up with him.
Although Brother Hu felt that it probably meant they would end up being investigated by that damn bastard, he truly could not believe that this bastard could also be a cop. Can cops really do what he did earlier?
As everyone was waiting, Li Qing’s phone suddenly rang.
It was from Dian Chunqiu.
"Qingzi, what’s the situation on your side today?" Dian Chunqiu’s voice sounded somewhat annoyed.
