Chapter 60: Civil War

3 months had gone by since Ye Ming was forced to take on the student role, learning all types of professions and finally cultivating.

His eyes were lifeless, but his body and mental health remained top-notch.

"Young Master, please stop sulking too much." By his side, Qing Lan tried to console him. In her hand, she was holding a bowl and trying to feed him more Spirit Food.

"3 months went by, but in reality, I was stuck here for 300 years." Ye Ming pursed his lips and wanted to lash out.

However, he had nowhere to vent.

He finally understands why most protagonists begin in the lowest world of the most backwater area. After all, they would only be forced to focus on one or two things at most.

Their brain wouldn’t be overloaded and the expectation on them wouldn’t be high either. In fact, most of the time, they were going to be called trash or inferior.

That was their usual treatment.

Yet he was different.

Since he was directly sent to the endgame level, his learning was also set at the endgame level.

’Truly, there’s always a pro and con in everything.’ He lamented his pitiful state. Being forced to learn for 300 years, he nearly wanted to throw up. But he also knew if he was given the same condition as most cultivation novel protagonists, then he would have died from cringe and boredom.

"There’s no need to sulk any longer, Young Master." Qing Lan suddenly said. "Your dedication throughout the learning has finally made the Madam allow you to traverse to the Lower World."

"That is true." Nodding, Ye Ming managed to convince his Mother to finally let him explore the Lower World. Although his cultivation realm remained in the Qi Refinement Realm, the truth was that it was a fake.

He was in that realm, but his combat prowess was already near the peak level of those in the Immortal World.

And no, it wasn’t that he wanted to play the pig to eat a tiger. It was just that his Dao Qi was a bit lacking. He needed to explore the Lower World and achieve enlightenment revolving around the Dao Qi to improve.

This was also the main factor why Ye Qing Lei finally relented and granted his wish.

Since his Dao Qi was unprecedented even to her, who was in the Beyond Origin Realm, she realized her son was accomplishing something big.

Every cultivator noticed the existence of the Heavenly Dao and talked about it, but how many of them truly know about its core?

To cultivators, the Heavenly Dao served as the overlord in their world, but for Ye Ming, it served as his servant. Unlike the cultivators who complied with the Heavenly Dao, he was the one in complete control.

The Heavenly Dao System—the thing Ye Ming felt the most proud of his past self.

Had his past self simply ignored the public opinion and focused on it further, then he would have succeeded long ago.

Unfortunately, his past self was too dumb in the mentality aspect.

"Lan, get my things ready. I wanted to check out the Tianwu Country." He declared solemnly. He put on an imposing attitude to try to look cool.

Alas, his intention backfired when Qing Lan brought a piece of bad news.

"Um, Young Master... the Tianwu Country has been renamed again." She corrected.

"What? Renamed again?" Startled, Ye Ming would have thought she was messing with him if it weren’t for the fact that he knew she wouldn’t dare.

"The Tianwu Country has been sealed off spiritual qi, and the Heavenly Dao has revealed that the blame lies on the cultivator hailing from it. Thus, a civil war has erupted, clamoring for the cultivator who offended the Heavenly Dao to give up themselves." Qing Lan explained.

Although 3 months had passed by in real time, lots of things would occur in the Lower World.

The Tianwu Country people remained as they struggled to defend, but most of the cultivators and mortals had already debunked the Tianwu Country name.

They were afraid that the name would continue to displease the Heavenly Dao, so they collectively renamed it Heaven Pardon Country.

To simplify, there were now two strongholds in the Lower World: Heaven Pardon Country and Tianwu Country.

Tianwu Country people were naturally those who had established the country centuries ago, and the people in the Heaven Pardon Country were those who opposed them or were afraid of retaliation.

Meanwhile, Ye Ming absorbed the information and realized the power he held. One simple command of his had overturned the Lower World and incurred the civil war.

If he was still the same person on Earth, then he would have been affected by causing a lot of deaths. It was a shame though because he contained memories of his past self even if it wasn’t assimilated as a whole.

Hence, he wasn’t affected by the death of this many people.

This was simply the reality of the cultivation worlds. Without spiritual qi, the world was destined to become ordinary, and cultivators would never accept such a fate.

It was the equivalent of tasting something sweet and then being banned from ever tasting it. It would have been fine if they had never tasted it, but once they did, it would be impossible to forget about that.

"Do you have any relatives left in the world?" Ye Ming asked softly. He didn’t care about the lives of people he had never met, but Qing Lan was his maid. Thus, he would give some favoritism and ensure they wouldn’t met with misfortune.

Alas, Qing Lan shook her head.

"All the close relatives of mine were already gone and should have undergone the cycle of reincarnation." She said calmly. There wasn’t a hint of sorrow or bitterness in her face.

It was only natural though.

So many years had passed by. One’s emotion was bound to heal after the passage of time. Maybe she would occasionally reminisce about the past, but she definitely wouldn’t be consumed by it.
