The Heavenly Dao System-Chapter 81: Dao Lord
While Li Hua was stumped at the Bixiao Restaurant by Ye Mingโs conduct, outside the entrance, the cultivator in charge began conversing with Tao Wang.
"So youโre telling me that the Qi Refinement Cultivator was called Dao Lord?" The cultivator in charge was stupefied by the name. ๐๐ซ๐๐ฒ๐๐๐๐ง๐ ๐๐๐ฅ.๐๐๐
"Yes, Daoist Gan." Tao Wang nodded seriously. Daoist Gan otherwise known as Piao Gan was a Nascent Soul cultivator at the 2nd level, a whole major realm above her who was at the 3rd level of Core Formation.
Thus, Tao Wang needed to be respectful toward him.
Likewise, Piao Gan also knew Tao Wang was an inner sect disciple of the Blue Wind Sect. Blue Wind Sect Leader was called Qiu Shan, a 9th-level Spirit Severing Realm cultivator.
Qiu Shan was only one breakthrough away from the Soul Transformation realm. It sounded simple, but everyone knew the barrier between the two realms was immensely vast.
However, being at the 9th level of the Spirit Severing Realm was enough to make Piao Gan cautious of offending such an individual.
An inner sect disciple might not be as important as a core disciple, but that didnโt mean Tao Wangโs status was crap. She was still considered a legitimate part of the Blue Wind Sect, unlike the outer sect disciplesโ status.
Therefore, Piao Gan didnโt think she would be attempting to deceive him.
"Alright, Iโll relay the incidents to my elders. In the meantime, can you do your best to find him and avoid alerting anyone?" Piao Gan asked solemnly.
The fact that an unknown cultivator was able to trespass and bypass the formation set up by the Soul Transformation Realm cultivators was no laughing matter.
This was a serious incident and could be resolved in numerous implications if handled poorly.
Nodding in response, Tao Wang cupped her fist and readily agreed to it. Her Senior Sister Ling Qiwei and her two other companions also cupped their fists.
As Piao Gan permitted them to enter in advance, his eyes soon darted at the fellow cultivators in the line. There was a trace of killing intent that hovered in his eyes before retracting.
โForget it... Iโll let the elder decide what to do.โ Piao Gan made a transmission through a jade token while ensuring those in the line remained the same.
He wouldnโt allow a single person to escape his vision and spread the news.
Who knows how many people might begin to plot behind the scenes after hearing such an incident had taken place?
While Piao Gan felt a rush of migraine coming at him, back at Bixiao Restaurant, the main culprit, Ye Ming remained relaxed.
"Daoist Dao, hereโs your seating." Li Hua brought him to a table and said calmly, having decided to simply address him as Daoist Dao. She seriously did not dare to call him the Dao Lord.
The name was too flashy and arrogant.
Ye Ming nodded his head after seeing his tableโs location was quite nice. It was near the balcony and could oversee the street from below.
Satisfied, he retrieved another spirit stone and threw it to her.
"T-This is..." Startled, Li Hua caught the spirit stone by instinct. She was stunned on the spot when she noticed it was another highest grade.
"Take it as your tip," Ye Ming stated and sat down. "As for the menu, just make sure they are tasty."
"Yes, Daoist Dao." Delighted, Li Hua didnโt stand on ceremony or tried to reject the spirit stone. She bowed her head and promised to bring him the best dishes in their Bixiao Restaurant.
"Ah, do you prefer tea or wine?" She suddenly asked.
"Tea," Ye Ming flatly replied. He was not fond of wine. Or more specifically, his alcohol tolerance was garbage, and even if he could expel them.
He despised the taste of wine which was bitter. Of course, there were wines that were sweet, but he wouldnโt actively seek for them.
Moreover, he doubted this restaurant had any good wine either.
As Li Hua nodded and excused herself, Ye Ming started to listen in on the conversation. With his hearing ability, he could easily pick up on the sound even if they were not close or next to him.
"I canโt believe the Fushang Territory is going to conduct an alchemy competition. The rewards actually offered a Spirit Severing Realm cultivation technique or an alchemy recipe equivalent to it."
"Hah, what do you know? Itโs said that the Tianwu Faction is extremely desperate for some unknown young man. They believed that the alchemy competition would attract them."
"Is that so? Then why did Heaven Pardon Faction agree to the alchemy competition?"
When Ye Ming heard that, he was equally curious as to why the opposite faction agreed to uphold the competition which only benefited the Tianwu Faction.
He didnโt quite believe the two factions seriously be in harmony because that was only human nature. They are never satisfied unless they can control everyone and everything.
As he listened in, his question was soon answered.
"This is an open secret, okay. But itโs said that the Tianwu Faction backer offered one of his precious gifts to the Heaven Pardon backer in exchange. Since the Heaven Pardon Faction could obtain benefit by poaching talented alchemists as well with the competition, they naturally agree."
"Wow, the Tianwu Faction really is paying a huge price then."
To ensure that the alchemy competition would be the grandest and full of opportunities. The Tianwu Faction was willing to bleed to make it so that the two major factions were in cahoot.
Otherwise, with just the Tianwu Faction alone. Those who didnโt like them or wished to stay neutral wouldnโt have attended.
The Tianwu World might no longer be in a bloodthirsty mode where slaughter was happening everywhere, but it was still divided heavily. This was especially true for the other races who had suffered from the consequences of the human cultivators.
โAn alchemy competition. What a timing.โ Ye Ming tapped his fingers softly on the table, finding it quite amusing.
He had thought it wasnโt a coincidence but something to do with fate.
But he quickly cleared his throat when the same gossiper revealed that the Tianwu Faction had actually held their own alchemy competition in the past, only to end in failure.
It wasnโt widely known because of how few the participants were, especially when most of them hailed from the Tianwu Faction, to begin with. In other words, there was little to zero possibility of the person they wished to search for appearing in such a small group.
"Interesting. They are that desperate huh." Ye Ming mused, not expecting the Heavenly Dao punishment to be that severe.
To think that she still couldnโt recover after all this time. But what surprised him more was that they were still trying to find out the helper.
Naturally, he knew the so-called helper was him. HD informed him previously that Tian Suyinโs Master, Gong Shu had tried to deduce him and suffered a major backlash.
However, his backlash wasnโt as severe as Tian Suyinโs because Ye Ming didnโt blame him for trying to help his disciple.
Just when Ye Ming retracted his hearing senses on the conversation, another receptionist brought a group of cultivators near his table.
"Haha, Senior Brother Tang is really lucky. Not only did he obtain an elixir, but he also got the inheritance of a Spirit Severing Realm."
"Youโre too courteous." The cultivator that was being praised was Tang Han, a Core Formation Realm.
With his realm, it naturally wouldnโt garner much attention, but with his gains though. Everything changes for him. Now, he was destined to rise to at least the Nascent Soul Realm.
Hence, many people were fawning over him, clearly hoping to ride on his coattails.
Tang Han felt like he was on the moon as his eyes darted to his two Senior Sisters. They might have kept silent, but they still accompany him for lunch.
What did that mean?
It meant they were waiting for him to make a move to flirt with them.
โHeh, trying to play hard to get? Very well, I shall satisfy you both.โ He thought gleefully.
Amidst his cloud nine daydreams, he suddenly noticed their attention was actually directed to another person. He followed their trail and spotted a lone cultivator on a single table.
"A Qi Refinement Realm?" Baffled, Tang Han was somewhat livid to see a lowly cultivator stealing his storm.
His anger only intensified when he heard one of his Senior Sisters raising some concerns.
"Sister Jing, do you know that cultivator?"
Jing An shook her head in response. "I never met him before. He should be new here, Sister Zhu."
Zhu Mingyue furrowed her brows and muttered, "Should we strike up a conversation with him? To be on the upper floor meant he should have some background."
Tang Han was extremely annoyed when his two Senior Sisters seemed more interested in an outsider than in him.
"Hmph, who knows if he had sneaked his way up here." Tang Han snorted and took a big stride toward Ye Ming.
"Hey, brat, where are you from?"
