Knocking on the counter and going over the dishes, I spoke to the cafeteria worker, "One plate of braised chicken curry with stir-fry rice. Add a fruit salad beside it."

Everything in the cafeteria was free here, but if you wanted some ultra-luxury, as delegated by nobles, you could book a room on the upper floor where money came into play.

However, the free food was already luxurious.

With a gentle smile, the young cafeteria worker nodded in response to my request. "Of course, I’ll have it ready for you in no time," she replied warmly, trying to create a cozy atmosphere amidst the busy surroundings as she tapped on the screen to receive my order.

It was done in a few moments, and she handed it over with a nice smile. "Here."

"Thanks, ma’am!" I replied curtly, taking the tray, which startled her a bit. It was obvious—none of these brats would take the time to thank her.

I understood that it was her job, but a simple gesture wouldn’t be bad. And the reason I did it was that I liked that sweet smile in the game. No matter the difficulties in her life, she always made sure to greet the students with a heartfelt smile.

Leaving her flustered, I walked down, wondering where I should take my place.

"Now, should I just barge in with the main cast?"

I crossed out that thought.

’Let’s not be so obvious.’

I shook my head, staring at the somber blue-haired guy.

The protagonist seemed to be dealing with his troubles.

A bit away from his seat was a black-haired man radiating an unapproachable aura. Despite his seemingly ordinary jet-black hair, it emitted a shine full of grace.

None dared to venture into his territory.

The true dragon among the wolves, the strongest and fiercest out here.

The one and only son of Grand Duke Valcrest.

Edwin Valcrest, the one who held the position of number one.

The leader of the first year.

’Huh!’

’Did I just go through a scenario of how characters were introduced in the game?’ I failed to hide my grinning laughter, causing a few around me to feel déjà vu.

’Despite not being the protagonist, his aura surely rivals one.’

"Bro, are you alright?" a boy beside me asked.

"Yeah, just remembered something," I waved my hand and looked for a comfortable place to sit.

Taking my place at a corner table, I sat alone, savoring the flavors of the nourishing meal. My observations extended beyond the confines of my own thoughts as I watched the students engaged in lively conversations, their laughter and camaraderie filling the space.

However, soon my attention was drawn to one table. A table filled with students who were attracting all the attention with their loud chatter.

"These guys are always troublesome."

...….

"Hey, Ashton!"

Ashton, who was feeling distressed, looked back to see a green-haired man smiling wildly, walking towards him, and then smacking his shoulder, making him flinch.

He was one of his companions, Roderick Rockwell, someone he was quite familiar with due to his uncanny personality.

"Why did you do that?" Ashton grumbled and then focused on his food.

"What’s with that dry expression? Your dark circles are increasing day by day," Roderick asked with a smile and whispered.

"What? Did you see someone you can’t forget and always fantasize about in your dreams? Or maybe in the washroom?"

"Stop... Just stop," Ashton glared at him and raised his fork in a threatening manner, making Roderick crawl back.

"I just don’t feel well and I’m not in the mood for your stupid talks."

Roderick, seeing his frustrated tone, decided to keep himself in check and asked, "What happened? Mind sharing?"

"Maybe I can help?"

"Help... My ass."

BANG!

Roderick got slapped across his back and looked back to see a lovely green-haired girl standing there.

She then squeezed his ear and turned to Ashton. "Hope he isn’t disturbing you."

Before Ashton could answer, Roderick shouted, "Stop ruining my reputation, Leila!"

Leila was his cousin, someone who was used to his antics.

"Reputation? Do you even have any?" Leila scoffed and signaled another pair of captivating beauties to come and sit.

Ashton turned his eyes toward them.

One of the women had golden locks draped over her shoulders, while the other had fiery short hair at shoulder length, emitting a rough, tomboyish personality.

The former was Selina Emberheart.

The latter was Ava Grayheart.

The two chuckled at their antics.

"You two still haven’t changed, have you?" Selina asked with a monotonous smile.

"Change? Ask this woman to change her fiery antics? Why the hell does she resort to violence over small things?" Roderick grumbled with a wronged expression.

Selina looked at Leila and spoke, "Cut him some slack. Don’t traumatize him in public. As nobles, behave like you should."

"Umm," Ava nodded, shooting Leila a look.

"Why always restrict yourself to strict manners? Just relax and behave freely," Ava muttered and then sat down at the table, pushing her lunch forward.

"You are really..." Leila didn’t know what to say, seeing her mannerisms. She didn’t look noble in any sense except for her looks.

Everyone gave Ava a look, clearly remembering how her house had tried to groom her to be a lady, only for her to grow up as a tomboy.

Ava then looked at Ashton with an incredulous gaze. "Hey, you didn’t forget about the arrangement, right? I need to defeat you."

"Not now. I will fight later," Ashton shook his head.

At that moment, everyone noticed Ashton’s odd expression.

Leila, shoving Roderick aside, asked worriedly, "What happened? You don’t look well."

"You also look a bit pale and unwell," Selina asked with a frown.

Ashton paused a bit and then looked at four curious gazes. Massaging his forehead, he pondered before opening his lips.

"Just the usual headache, and those bothersome nightmares are not letting me sleep," Ashton spoke begrudgingly.

Since the moment he inherited the Class, he had been unable to cope with the trauma that came alongside it.

"Nightmares?" Everyone chimed in, hesitating a bit before speaking.

"Nightmares? Why is a grown man like you afraid of nightmares?" Ava commented, making them all look at her in shock.

’As expected from that simple brain of yours,’ Selina thought, looking at Ava’s unbothered expression.

Ashton looked at Ava, not knowing what to say, and decided to shift the conversation.

"By the way, did any of you get along with Edwin?"
