566 In his room

“When are we leaving for the trip?” Javier did not lift his eyes but still questioned while flipping the pages of the file. Ellen cleared his throat to answer, “In a week..”

Javier stayed mute without expressing his thoughts. His lips slash into a straight line and then he mumbled under his breath in an authoritative tone, “Apply for a leave in her school through secretaries. Make sure all her documents are valid for the trip.”

Ellen was joyful. Since he knew that Javier was going on a small trip, it was evident that his mood would remain sullen. But to boost it, he had decided to bring Ariana on board just to pacify his friend and not to receive warmth in the middle of the road.

“I will definitely check them. But is your brother going along with us or not?”

“Not this time. He wants to stay here and let me visit the board. The family must be missing us, uncle and grandfather. We should have a visit as it has been a year.” Javier told and Ellen took the same into account.

“I will definitely look into the same. Please, meet with the staff in a few hours. I have already sent you the report on the same so go through it.” Ellen reminded and Javier opened the file at the same time.

But Ellen did not leave at the same moment. He wanted to say something but his lips tightened at the mere thought of fury that he might need to face on the account of his words. “Is there something else.?” Ellen heard and finally shook. He took his leave and finally, Javier then stared at the small photo frame placed at the side of his table.

For a few minutes, he found his world to stop, and his heart skipped a beat. That smile of Jennifer was still refreshing as if nothing happened in his life. Those four years were haunting and yet he endured everything happily…

‘Why Jennifer… Why did you leave us so soon when everything was settled.. why!’

Sierra stepped out of the kitchen and instructed the butler to do the dishes. The dining table was going to be ready for the dinner yet the members were still to be called.

At the same time, Sierra saw Javier stepping inside the house. “Javier! Dinner is going to be served within five minutes. Please join us.”

However, to her dismay, Javier gave her a negative response. “No need, Sierra. Ask the butler to serve my dinner in my room after all of you are done.” Saying this, he walked back to this room without sparing anyone a glance. Back at the same time, Sierra was at loss.

She shook her head with a dependent and worried expression plastered on her face for her younger brother-in-law. She placed both of her hands at her waist realizing his stubbornness but she merely said nothing.

“What happened here?” Sierra heard the voice and turned around to see Emily walking out of the kitchen too.

“Javier refused to have dinner with us as usual. Ask the butler to serve his dinner in his room.” Sierra didn’t try to express her sorrow and engulfed herself in placing the plates on the table.

Meanwhile, Emily opened her mouth, “I think I should talk with him. He can’t enjoy having dinner with his family so occasionally. It is rarely once a month when he sits with him to eat together. That isn’t how he should react with his family members.”.

Sierra tried her best to control her quest to stop Emily from questioning Javier’s mood swings. ‘Don’t let your anger burst on this bimbo, Sierra..’ she calmed her composure to pay no heed to the lady. But to her disappointment, Emily showed stubbornness.

“I will talk with him right now. He will eat with us tonight!” Confidence was filmed in Emily’s eyes and Sierra couldn’t help but sigh. “Leave him alone, Emily. Especially today. It isn’t good to disturb and test his patience tonight.”

“It has been years, Sierra. Four freaking years! He needs to change his attitude on this day!” Emily challenged but Sierra didn’t try the matter. “Don’t do what you shouldn’t do, Emily.” Her last warning was the last way to Emily.

Yet it wasn’t effective when it came to this lady. She walked the stairs to come into the corridor and knocked on his door to find his voice inside, “Come in.”

A blush crept on her face when she put her hair behind her ears and entered the room. At the sight she found Javier sitting on his bed and trying to remove his watch.

The sight in front of her eyes was still enhancing. Emily could feel her heart pounding loud in her chest which was at the edge of coming out if not of her seriousness to remind her about the mission of being here. “Ja-Javier.. I wanted to ..”

She felt his strong gaze on her and the urge to run increased, “Um… why not be down? I’m pretty sure everyone will be happy.”

“I made it clear to Sierra that I will not be eating dinner with the rest of you. Did it not fit inside your brain?” He was cold and cruel with his words. Without even giving her a glance, he had shattered her courage into pieces.

But at the same time, Emily had no reason to give up on her continuous persistence. Hadn’t he been the same for the last four years?

She took a step inside his bedroom to say, “Everyone will be happy, Javier! You should think about children. They will be h-”

Before completion, she realized him moving his ultimate cold-blooded eyes and watching her every move. “J-Javier, I wa -”

“Who allowed you to enter my room?”
