The King's Unbreakable Wife-Chapter 166: Disturbed (1)
Chapter 166: Disturbed (1)
"Queen Tabitha, forgive me for speaking out of turn, but you don’t appear to be happy. What troubles you and how can we help?" Jane asked, stepping close to Tabitha.
Since Tabitha visited Hazel and Tobias in the morning, she was in a sour mood. Jane wished Tabitha had sent someone else to check on Hazel and Tobias. Why did Tabitha have to bother herself with Hazel so early in the morning?
Tabitha looked up at Jane. "You always know me so well. I should be happy but I can’t find myself to be. Is it because my time as queen is coming to an end?"
"Even when the crown is given to that girl, you will still be the queen in our eyes. She has big shoes to fill and seeing that she refused your help, she will not be a queen to rival you. I will always follow you as my queen so do not worry about the coronation," said Jane.
Hazel would never be Jane’s queen. Hazel had done nothing worthy of the position of queen. How could Hazel be looked to as a wonderful queen when she disrespected the present queen?
"Forgive me, but I look forward to her failing so she can turn to you for help. She should be woman enough to admit her faults in not getting your help. I made the mistake of doing something rash when I took her clothes, but I have other plans to deal with her," Jane revealed that she had something else in mind.
Tabitha smiled behind the cup she brought to her lips. "Oh."
"I will make sure that there isn’t a way for you to be blamed for my actions. If only you could have witnessed how she looked at the doctor. She is terrified of the man and I am planning for them to meet again in a more private setting," Jane said, hoping this would please Tabitha.
"How do you plan to get that man to come out of his little hiding spot? The doctor is always hard at work in his little space. Jane, you are giving yourself too much work," Tabitha said, but she was still loving the plan.
Anything to push Hazel to reveal she should have listened.
Tabitha drank a bottle of wine when she retired to her room as she could not handle Hazel having joined her family. She thought by now the court would have found a problem with the wedding or Grant would have done something to get his granddaughter to take Hazel’s spot.

If not for what Jeffrey spoke of last night, Tabitha would have believed all hope was lost. She now knew of Grant speaking of bringing women to Tobias should Hazel not fulfil her duty. If Linda were to become one of those women, Tabitha would help make way for her to find herself as queen.
Tabitha’s dislike for Hazel had grown to be far more than it was in the beginning. She hated the sight of Hazel. That was her answer to why she would not grow close to Hazel.
Tabitha had no faith Hazel would make a good queen as she was not properly trained by one.
"Ugh," Tabitha sighed. "It might not be long before she bears my grandchild."
Jane frowned as she didn’t think that would be something to upset Tabitha. "Do you not wish for her to become with child?"
’Of course I do. Our lineage must continue, but her having a child would make her feel like she reigns over me as mother as the future king. I fear there will not be time to make her respect me. I should just go on to live my quiet days with my husband outside of the palace," Tabitha decided.
Missing what Tabitha was doing, Jane became determined to do something before Hazel gained more power in the palace. "I will knock her down a little before then. Even when she is queen, you will hold more power. It shall take years for her to gain any kind of power in the palace."
’That is true," Tabitha agreed. It took her nearly three years to get allies and loyal followers among the servants. Hazel had a long way to go before she could match Tabitha’s control in the palace.
"You control the palace. You can make her early days as queen wonderful or like hell. You’ve been too kind to her, Your Majesty. Still, I will get my hands dirty for you. The only problem with my plans is the maid who sticks too close to her. Please allow me to get rid of her," Jane requested.
Hazel no longer roamed the palace with just the maids picked out for her by the queen. These days Hazel was alone with her maid and guards placed by the prince. Jane found Mary to be annoying as the woman acted high and mighty because she was serving Hazel.
"Do as you wish. The maid has overstayed her welcome as Hazel will need to pick from women here in the palace when she picks her new maids. A maid without proper training does not belong in the palace. Don’t disappoint me," Tabitha said as Jane’s first trick was a letdown.
"I won’t," Jane promised. She already had the perfect way to get rid of Mary without anyone knowing how the woman disappeared.
Jane smiled as the maid would soon be experiencing her cruel fate. It was perfect timing for Hazel to be out of the palace without her maid. To keep the doctor happy, he could use someone else to experiment on. A gift for missing the chance to have Hazel as his test.
It was Hazel’s fault for not sending the maid back to her parent’s house and keeping her in the palace too long. Hazel would soon learn that the palace was somewhere she didn’t belong since she had insulted Tabitha.
Tabitha noticed how Jane smiled as if she had some cunning plan cooking up. She trusted that Jane wouldn’t disappoint her. Suddenly, the day had become better.
Tabitha realised she was upset over nothing as there would be a good show for her to witness after Hazel was named queen. Hazel wasn’t fully aware of what she was in for.
"Jane, send my gift to the house they will be staying in."
"Yes, Your Majesty," Jane replied. "Your moods seem to be back to normal."
"Yes, and it was all your doing. I shall prepare a special gift for you," Tabitha said, referring to one of her jewels. Jane had earned herself one for bringing back up her spirits.
